Thread: Having Problems With Your Pets? Post here

I am experiancing the following problems...

1. Pets randomly disappear. This means i can no longer see them, they disband from the group, but do not go back into my data pad. I have to manually store them before i can call them again (and on rare occasions i cannot store them at allunless i log out anddo a full scan.)

2. Pets randomly do not follow, or just stop following. For whatever reason, pets that are grouped, guarding me and told to heel will just stand there, or when travelling in the wild will just stop. I notice often if i am constantly using the tab key to cycle between possible targets, and use the ~ key to bring up the radial menu, pets are more likely to stop following, but still happens at other times.

3. pets will occasionally stop responding to any voice commands, until i bring up their radial menu, which displays half the menus and then has a delay before bringing up the rest of the menus. once the full radial menu comes up the pet begins responding again.

4. pet growth not following any kind of regular rules, seems to be totally random. i have one pet that is still level 7 of 18 after several months, and i have others that have grown 24 levels overnight!

Creatures attack once then run. And run. And run. After a while, they attack for a bit, then run some more. Sucks the fun right outta the game.

Actually, the past few NPCs I've attacked with my pets have not run at all.

My friend and I were doing some quests on Dantooine and killing off some Jedi Padawans and my pets did not run or chase once. Earlier we were running around in the warren and there was still no running or chasing.

We haven't hunted wild creatures recently, though, so it may only be that sort of animal.

I have made a few observations.

I have noticed that my petsrarely run, when they are killing imperial officers thatare fighting with melee items.

Pets start getting into a run/feedbackloop with storm troopers (especially when the stormiehas a gun/riffle/carbine out.. which is most of the time)

Sometimes my pets get 0m to an NPC and start doing a spin dance with the NPC in question. This makes both the pet and NPC stationarywhile fighting each other for a small time.

I haven't had much trouble with my pets running, when attacking creatures. But, then, I haven't beenattacking any high-level creatures, lately.

All I can say, is the Stormie run/feedback loop is driving me buggy as all get out. I have to do everything in my power to stop the loop. I have been doing this by means of knockdown, suppression fire, and switching targets back and forth (while making sure I am not attacking the target to get aggro). But this is still a pain in the rump-roast.

I can't help but feel some of this is an intended bug, so that TH and the devs can run of as many CH's as they can before they decide to "fix" the bug again, if ever.

It's a workaround to the pet running, but I just /tellpet come (er, command for Follow Me) when they take off, which draws them back towards me, then /tellpet attack again when at the desired range. I'll assume most CHs have those 2 commands macroed already. At most I'll have to do that once for any given creature being fought.

Forgive me if most of y'all have figured that out already. I try to keep things simple for myself most of the time.

The thing where the pet stands "in you" really waste the cool looking aspect of the CH prof IMHO. But it's not as much aggravatingas the dreaded"Benny Hill effect" where your pet for no apparent reason starts running around and fleeing from combat. I mean I was hunting Feral Banthas near Krayt Graveyard, I'm CH 0110 and Unarmed IV. Not exactly a big shot out there huh ? But the all thing worked fine until my pet started his run around and as I tried to catch up with the fight and spamming my Stay or follow macro to have him stop running, he dragged near enough to a group of tusken raiders who shoted me dead before I couldn't even spell F..K ... And many other times duringthat huntsession I had to let him run away to avoid getting ganked by the groups of baddies around. Resulting in long minutes of waiting for his return and finally have to store him then run for miles to find a spot where I could deploy a camp to call him again ( Duh all those rules and restrictions )

So I hope the devs are gonna fix those two issues in the near future cause these are real game wasters to me and a lot of other CH I guess ....

I decided to run a few tests yesterday and today with my pets vs Mokks (Darnit, they should look like Ookla! Cookies for anyone who gets the reference).

I've tried telling my pets to attack outright, and telling them to follow target until I am ready for them to attack, and getting aggroed myself before telling the pets to attack.

When I tell my pets to attack outright, I see them chasing the enemy and I have to run to catch up. Though it seems that once I get into a certain range (usually within 20 meters because I'm trying to use Lightning Single 2) the Mokk will stop and stand his ground.

When I tell my pets to follow then attack, the Mokk seemed to stay where he was (Can't really tell if he would always do that, because I was running up to LLC single 2 range)

When the Mokk aggro'd on me first (regardless of whether the pet is following them or not.) it runs toward me and stops when I tell my pets to attack. It remains stationary for the remainder of the fight.

Occasionally, regardless of the situation, when they are reduced to nearly no health, they will turn to run.

This is accepted behavior; the pet wants to keep living, so it will run away. The critters in the wild do this, and so do NPCs.

Creature Issues

  • Creatures stand right on top of you.

  • Creatures keep running away in combat.

  • When using creatures in combat you harvest 40% less meat. Ungrouping the creature(s) prior to combat fixes this.

These are the main ones I'm seeing.

PET REACTION TIME! Ok my pets reaction time is horrible and keeps getting me killed and frankly i dont like being killed so its pissing me off. When i tell my pet to do something his ass should do it! my pets standing on each other and me, pets pathing still sucks, pets suck in pvp, mounts being useless now, specials still not working. Ok from what ive seen ch is getting WORSE! nothing is being fixed, only screwed up, **edit** is going on?
