Thread: Is the Creature Handler Profession DEAD?

Not dead, just isolated.

But many professions are suffering the same fate, the only difference is that we were nerfed as the beginning (supposedly) of a mythical combat balance that has been delayed for over 8 months.

Look at Squad Leader and Smuggler, even Droid Engineer. The first two professions have been almost totally ignored and pushed back, and the revamp for DE's was pathetic at best...

not dead, just in a coma...it's still fun to play, it's just that all the uber-seekers have left our ranks. Which suits most of us just fine hehe, we'll gimp along and play our game our way!

Just started CH tree 1-1-1-1 and I can honestly say that there is no other prof that could make my heart skip like it did when i logged in last night, and to my lovely surprise i was in the middle of a wild Mountain Dew lair (was searchin for a couple days now). I will no doubt be keeping CH till I no longer play the game.

That's true, Wallach. Being a CH is about the fun, not about the power. Which in away, I am kind of glad we got nerfed as far as that goes, because it eliminated the CH's that were in it to PWN. Now, to want to be a CH, you consider it for the fun factor mostly...

I play for the fun but the Skill Tree "rebalance" was to take care of the "Dabblers". The nerf was just because TH hate our class. lol MCH are a rare breed on most servers. They are made even rarer because alot of use do not display our title or make our character searchable because of the annoying mount and train deed tells. You do not want to know how many times I have had to give my CH 101 lecture to a non-ch. So many that I have it macro'd now.

non-ch: Can you train a deed for me.

Me: Maybe, what type of deed?

non-ch: Some kind of dog.

Me: Huurton perhaps?

non-ch: Yes that is it. It has really good stats.

Me: Sorry, I can not train that for you it is an aggressive creature.

non-ch: But you are a MCH you can tame anything.

Me: I have the ability to do it but I would not be able to give it back to you.

non-ch: What???

Me: (Key CH 101 macro) Sorry, I could not help.

non-ch: What am I going to do with it then?

Me: You can always drop it in your house or sell it.

Please don't mistake my question as, is this a broken profession, or this profession totally blows and is gimped.

What my question is in refrence to was my inability to ever find a creature handler for training. I paid for every box in the creature handler tree but 2. I almost never see another CH on flurry besides the 3 that I know.

Thats why my question, is this a dead profession. I can only recall 1 other ch asking for training from me.

Trust me, I know where you're coming from on this. The other night I mastered swordsman and I was stating that I could teach Swordsman 4444, Scout 4040, Brawler 4040 and TKA 4000 and I couldn't get anyone that needed CH xp and I was there for a while.

but oh well, thankfully we got a couple AP bank characters in my guild so not a problem. lol

Doesn't seem to be so many of us on Gorath server anymore. I agree that getting the dabblers out of the proff was a good thing even tho it means those that do want to pick up CH are going to have a tougher time of getting training for free. A couple players in my guild have decided to pick it up so they are lucky in that I am around to help them.

yes thay dead .we cant find the rares and now the poision dont work we are stuffed.and as for fun will try dwb and see how weak your pets are to other combat classes there no fun in that.grp up with other classes and inter combat bye the time you get your pets out of data pad them npc or rancors are dead.
the only way you make mch work is bye taking up a anther combat skill.but then that what you did when you took up being a ch thay onece were a combat skill but no longer.
