Thread: Is the Creature Handler Profession DEAD?

I had to pay for the majority of my training on Flurry, as I could never locate a CH when I needed training. The few players that I see only take it far enough to get a mount. When they find out that mounts arent all that, they drop that little piece.
I have only meet 3 MCH on Flurry, granted I don't get around much. One of them droped it this weekend in favor of another profession.
I can see why BE's don't make pets, there is really no reason.
I really can't see a light at the end of the tunnel for us. Maybe the tunnel has a curve or something.
I can think of no place for us in JTL at all. Maybe I can make my Rancor my copilot?
My only hope is the Combat Rebalance due out in... what 2020 maybe.

I think those that are or want to become a MCH are a rare breed indeed. I'm proud and honored to be a CH and i'm happaly working my way to master.

Nah, we ain't dead, we are the ones that are playing to actually have fun. We can't use our pets in PvP, we do pretty good in PvE, the fact is, no one wants the profession because they can do better with there melee. Me, I don't care, I love my GSP and my Grand Wrix when I go hunting.

That's true, Wallach. Being a CH is about the fun, not about the power. Which in away, I am kind of glad we got nerfed as far as that goes, because it eliminated the CH's that were in it to PWN. Now, to want to be a CH, you consider it for the fun factor mostly...

Im a CH on Farstar and have been since christmas 2003 and I love being one and wear my badge with honour. I have notice over the last 5 months or so that CHs are dropping right, left and centre and I still get alot of tells asking to train pets or mount their beasts.

Definitely not dead yet 
I just hit 2/2/2/3 last night and am not regretting my choice to become a creature handler. I can take on missions that I wouldn't stand a chance against if I didn't have my creatures tanking for me. No they don't do any noticable damage at this point, but they can take a real beating and they keep the baddies off of me so I can snipe with my rifle. Granted it helps I made a good BE friend who made me a custom narglatch

Sorry all I am not saying as a CH we are dead I am making fun of my Templet BH/CH I can not hunt and kill Jedi which is what a BH does and CH I can't PVP and can just do PVE due to the nurf! I love CH if any thing I would drop BH.

YES As much as I think this profession is not doing so well I LOVE IT.

CH is still great for my playstyle.
I might do better with buffs and a FOTM combat profession, but I don't have the time or desireto sit in a buff line every time I log in. I also can't get motivated to drop all of my skills, buy new weapons, etc. and grind a FOTM combat professionjust because it's overpowered today... tomorrow it may not be.Keeping up with FOTM templates isforkids and people with noreal lives. My current templateworks good enough for me (MCH, Novice Medic, 0-0-4-0 BH, 0-0-4-3 Pistoleer).
I've even been tempted to replace MCH with Master Doc but I know I'd miss my pets. And to me, there's something terribly wrong with buffing yourselfand being nearly invincible. I like being challenged. My pets are very effective but enough danger is still present to make the game fun. I have to actually watch my HAM levels,choose the appropriate specials, command my pets and keep them alive, heal myself, etc.... instead of just spamming anAEspecial attack while mobs barely dent my HAM.
This game would be so much better if the Devs got off their a$$es and worked on the CB.

Not dead at all 
On the contrary, on my way to become master. Still sadly very much novice as i only have 1101 if i recall right. But i like my pets and i dont mind getting there a little slow when i just know that i will get there.
On another note. Was playing last summer and fall and had a rock beetle i believe the name was. At that tim ei think it was lvl 10 and had light armor. So i got a pretty big surprise when i figured out that rock beetles now were lvl 13.. and lacked the light armor. Is this just a unlucky Bille or did they change the beetles to this? I still use it though. Too sad that you cant mount beetles :/
I myself will be adding swordsman to the MCH and i kinda like hope that will turn out allright. I dont fight too much buffed (other than what i can do with a brandy and accargaran .. something like that And the occasional pixie when things gets out of hand. So i think that it should be working fine with having a few pets as company.

well i'm a MCH on flurry as well, we ought to hunt together sometime. Despite being rare we can still have some fun...
