Yeah your right, there are very few of us on flurry, which has the effect of not being able to get training often as you say, and also makesthe bio-eng market almost non existant aswell -lets hope it gets better..

well i am master ch atm and i find pets totally useless in combat. in the 15 seconds it takes to call a pet i can be almost done with a mission. i dont even bother grouping with pets to get higher paying missions, i just use my atst for that

I have to sayI have a great amount of respect to those who are still master CHs (sry guys but those of you just getting it havnt had to deal with the trials of its brokeness). I cant claim my proffessions are broken in the least, being a TKM / Master doc, butI can say ive been nothing but a TKM Master doc for about 5 months now and sticking with even two proffessions that work is hard. The nerf really seperated the true CHs from the rest. (i cried when the patch came out as i could no longer use my GSP)

Dead- No
A wounded rancor in such great pain it can hardly move- yes.
Because of the general uselessness of CH most people do not want to play it.
CH has lost their niche in this game.
Our PVP rateing is on par with novice brawler
Our PvE rateing is on par with a 3000 Brawler
Our support side (training and provideing pets and mounts) is gone, made useless by various nerfs and vehicles.
This is still one of the more active forums though. The few of us that are left are very passionate about this profession. This could be a really good profession again if only the devs could develope a good plan on fixing the game and finally bringing it out of open beta.

Ch works good in PvE, as long as it's supplimented by an elite combat class...that's the problem. Creature Handler can hardly survive on it's own...

yep im a MCH MBE and M Scout.so i get to make my own pets.and soe should hold there head down in shame the way thay have treated the CH .and bye the way with less CH about means less players asking for BE made pets and i dont mene lvl 10 pets ether.
thay killed of the BE to in the game not just CH.
i did a corvert mission the other day took out 2 be razor cats thay got stuck in the left would not follow me plus other bugs.these sort of things should have been sorted out by now that what we pay our money for .
i went into dwb with sum other with my 2 be razor cats .i was asked to keep a druid bezze while the the grp attacked the rest i did this when i looked around the rest of the grp was doing the damage but not my pets .
i even told my pets to use there sp witch was knockdown but like every thing else it did not work.
i have read about soe sorting the combat balance out it seems to me to little to late .
you may ask why im still a mbe or mch will im killing time till eq2 comes out.
i pay my money i play the game so i have a right to my opion.

No problem there bro, You $15+ a month intitles you to speak you mind about anything. I was just curious, cause we've had plenty of poeple come in here trying to give us advice that never touched the profession. It's like me going to the Jedi forum and telling them what to do. lol

I'm still around as a CH. I love my pets and wish they'd fix my other prof so I can do something other than just slice armor/weapons.

hi all!
I honestly aggree with the majority of the posts!
CH is not a dead profession. We only become rare. The last few days I've been asked to train or name other people's pets more and more,
so I guess this points out us being rare indeed.
I love being a CH (even a lowlevel). When I see friends grinding like hell, trying to make as much money and xp as possible, I kind of wonder
if they are really enjoying the game.I started about 6 months ago with SWG, and I haven't mastered any profession yet. I must admit that I'm not
a die-hard player, I only play a few hours per week (let's say 5-8 hours tops).
during that time I do:
- 30% hunting/training baby's, getting CH exp.
- 20% exploring (sightseeing, badgecollection, spotting critters and checking their stats,...)
- 30% social life, chat, my house, checking out the different city's and vendors,...
- 20% missions for factionpoints
but a full 100% having fun with my beloved pets by my side!
And that while all those want-to-be-the-best-and-I-want-it-fast players are missing out a lot of the fun!
IMHO, they're spending:
- 33% of their time waiting to get buffed and complaining about them getting nerfed all the time.
- 33% of their time figuring out the fastest way to make money and xp.
- 33% of their time having stress about "I really have to get that skill by this evening!"
- 0% of their time really having fun.
If one profession suits a more relaxing and enjoyable way of playing this game the most, I believe it's called
CREATURE HANDLER.
We're not dead, we are just ez riders, going with the flow, let the Force guide us without wondering how to becoming
a Jedi in 24 hours every 2 minutes.
just my 2 cents....

yes thay dead .we cant find the rares and now the poision dont work we are stuffed.and as for fun will try dwb and see how weak your pets are to other combat classes there no fun in that.grp up with other classes and inter combat bye the time you get your pets out of data pad them npc or rancors are dead.the only way you make mch work is bye taking up a anther combat skill.but then that what you did when you took up being a ch thay onece were a combat skill but no longer.
it's not in your sig, but were you ever or are you now a CH? Granted, some things are still pretty bad, but that's a given all over. Even if I can't go into the DWB it doesn't mean that my pets still don't help me. I've rancors unbuffed with my pets and lived for quite a long time. I don't know of many TKM/Swordman/Fencers that can do that, unbuffed.
It's still a viable class, it's not longer a combat class perse, but it is a great support class and it works fine for PvE.
My 2cr worth.

I've been playing this game since launch and CH was my first profession. I never lost the MCH title. I agree with many of the posts. I think CH is an acquired taste, and those that play the profession even in these low times probably truely do love it.
CH suffered from a year ago last summer, when everyone in their right mind became a CH because of the damage that pets could do. For those of you that wern't here at that time, it was a time known as the pet wars, where everyone was a CH. Pets could do incredible damage and had some amazing armor. It was the norm for people in combat to pull out some Rancors or Gurrecks and create havoc. As such the devs nerfed our profession and many of the animals.
What you have to remember at this time was that many professions were not yet fully developed. Meaning that armor, and buffing, and even weapons had not yet been fully developed to the state it is in the game today. There were not many "master" professions. So in some sense given time, many of these players would have developed and would ahave been able to hold their without the the need for the full nerf.( I think think the nerf was ultimately needed but it was done to such an extreme where it did hurt our profession.)
What we have now, are pets and a profession that is structured to fit the combat balance back last summer. However it is obvious that our profession is weak. When a TKA can solo rancors and destroy animals, or people can use multi-target weapons with high end damage, it leaves us a bit in the cold.
It is often argued as whether we are a combat class or a combat support class. The debate can go both ways. My personal spin is that we are a combat support class. However that being said, in today's game, many people solo, because of buffs and stronger elite professions, and as combat support we are no longer needed.
Just my 2 cents on some of the CH stuff, I didn't mean to drag it out so long.
