Thread: Watching my Pet get summoned away from me...SWG you need to fix this grief NOW!

Iwas in Coronet waiting for the shuttle and a master doc asked me to please protect her as she healed someone and got a tef. So I took out my rancor and set it on "guard"and then watched for anything that would attack her. While doing that all of a sudden my rancor took off running. I then saw this guy had summoned (or beckoned, I don't remember) my pet and it took off. It would NOT come back when called and I had to store it then call it out again. Which once again my pet was taken away from me. I was trying to keep it next to her so nothing would happen to her but time and time again this guy was able to "summon/beckon" my pet.

Now, from talking to a Doc that is the latest grief now to summon or beckon pets and droids. Yes,. they also have been doing that to doctors buffing in C-Net.

Has this happened to anyone else?

Whatbothers me is that someone can take my pet away then why did I spend all that time to become a MCH? I love my pets and don't want to drop it but if I can't even use my pets without someone else "summoning" it away then its a waste of Skill points.

I wish the devs would PLEASE fix this before it gets out of hand. It would be like me "beckoning" your weapon out of your hand when you want to use it.

Sounds bad...But how do they summon your pet? Say the words you saw for "follow"? If thats it, you might wan't to come up with a fewcrafty phrases, and macro it. Maybe use /tellpet?

the official word is wait till the summit is over and done with.then wait for pub 10(more jedi stuff, as if we need it) then the GCW revamp(a way for jedi to officialy rule the galaxy)then wait for the mini patches to fix pub10(more fixes to stuff that the jedi will most certainly cry about) then the mini fixes for the GCW revamp(more stuff that the jedi want done) then wait till after the combat rebalance.(all profs getting nerfed to hell in order to point out the already obvious fact, the devs love jedi and think nobody should be able to beat them at anything)

I was about to board the shuttle at C-net today when I saw a shout bubble that said "Droid Army, attack!" Now this interested me, because no one can call more than one droid. as I was walking over to investigate, the person ran past me. He had several droids in tow. This person has "summoned" every droid in the C-net area. There were several n00b droids, and a couple a Binary Load Lifter that was add barking, and a Treadwell that was also add barking. It REALY annoyed me that this person was able to do this.

basically, what they are doing is targeting your pet and typing /summon or /beckon its an emote. With pets, if you do this, the pet/droid will start following a person. Usually all you have to do is give the FM command and it will come back. Also you could always target the Dr and give the guard command and that should help too, along with the chase command. Just some tips I've tried.

This actually works? I just tried it on a couple of helper droids just to see if it was true, because I've never seen it happen, and it didn't do anything.

I just spent half an hour testing this with my main and alt account bouncing commands back and forth.

The command is /summon. Anyone can do this to any creature pet they see, and the pet should follow them.

HOWEVER... if you have told your pet to "stay", nobody can make it move. It obeys its master. Also, if you (the CH) call the pet back, it will come back. 100% of the time, by my testing.

I also tested in combat. Another player is not able to distract the pet in any way while it is fighting using /summon or /beckon or whatever.

So if you're concerned about this happening, just tell your pet to stay if you are in a public place. Problem solved.

They simplytarget your pet, and use a command line to make it follow them. ANYONE can usethis command on your pets to make them follow. Apparently, there's nothing you can do to prevent it either. I think this bug came in when they added the "flavor" commands for pets.

Obviously this is a huge issue for Creature Handlers, as well as the many Doctors who have their droids out in town. It should have been fixed by now, but I don't recall seeing any official word on it lately.

Seems to me that it isa grief/bug. By the games own mechanics you are only allowed x amt of critters per ch skill. How is it a non ch not only is able to grab pets but also droids and have em all follow? The only way I can see is if its a bug. That is something that definitely needs to be fixed.

I have a Master Doc friend that was in Cnet over the weekend and someone was doing this to the docs. Running by and pulling the droids our of range of the docs to stop the buffing.

Very big bug/exploit they should try to get this fixed next publish. I find it hard to belive the offical stance on this is wait till after JTL. I bet they would be willing to fix it faster.

I know it's a serious issue but am i the only one who finds the image of someone running through town with half a dozen stolen droids following while screaming "Droid Armies, Attack!" incredibly hilarious?

This has been discussed in a couple of other threads. Vert has asked the Devs about it. It's unclear if another player being able to "summon" our pets is an unintentional side effect of the command or if that's what the command was actually designed to do. I just find it odd that there would be such a command in the game at all. We CH already have /follow, so what's the point of /summon? Kind of boggles the mind.

Fortunately, as has been pointed out, there are work-arounds to prevent someone else summoning our pets. Obviously we shouldn't have to do work-arounds, so hopefully this is something that will be fixed. Quickly.

Does it stand to reason that we need to report the people whom we see doing this, and let the CSR's deal with em. If enough people report that "Noob Noobian" (sorry if thats a real toon, not you the other one then) is doing this, its considerd griefing, and according to the rules, thats a no no, so wouldnt they get nailed that way?
