God damn, chill people. Is it fair that a Jedi is the hardest class to get? Is it fair that they can shoot lighting bolts from their fingers? Is it fair that they can get the best weapon in the game but no one else can? No it's not. But they are Jedi, they have skills others don't have, they get bonuses we can only dream of. So what that they can scare our pets or make them rogue, it's only temperary & it's a skill that of the few jedi's out there, only a handfull of them will design to get it. So chill people. This skill we never saw in the movies although it is in the booksbut we have seen the mind control that they can use on the week minded, so does that mean that it's better if the developers gave jedi the skill to take over our characters? Be glad they never gave them that skill. We know CH's are not good in PvP, that against a good player, our pets are mince meat, a high enough Jedi that can take over our pets could also kill them in a matter of seconds, so which is better? what differance will it make in the long run. STOP whining about it & move on already.

I think this tree should be an option if you are a CH jedi. Where you can control NPC animals ( nightsister rancors etc ) or if they changed it to allow you to control/tame/find force sens creatures

Bottom line, I think we need to see how it all turns out after CB, and GCW.

No matter how much we complain they aren't going to change a Jedi skill or tweek it untill it's had sometime on the live server.

Again I would say CH has other bigger issues than this. Just cause the Devs are focused on Jedi, doesn't mean we have to be.

Then again that's just me.

"Majority of CH aren't avid PVP players or jedi hunters"....is that because we chose not to or because we can't!? It's because we can't. Most of us would love to be able to be involved in this game more, such as in PVP. As for your rambling about how this doesn't really affect us because we don't do these...let me tell you a little story. Many of us DO PVE. Some of which involves faction combat. Now, jedi knights who are overt all the time and benefit from killing nonjedi are hunting us down....and guess what...they have the potential to use this skill on us now! So now is the time to get it fixed. They pulled /citywarn out right away....they need to do the same with these skills.

hehe, I figured you may few my post as "ramblings", such is the way with unpopualr opinions. I understand many of us do PvP but i'm asking about the majority here, we already know that only 10-15% of the community is active on the post boards, so I would venture to say that neither you nor I know what the majority of us do with the CH class, the best we can do is guess.

It is also possible that CH isn't ment to be a strong PvP class, but that role remains to be seen with the upcomming CB. If we really want to see changes then I suggest when the CB threads open up we get busy there with clear cut data to back our clamis and needs.

The pulling of the /citywarn was seen as a exploit used aginst a massive number of players to deny acess to content, not the same here I would have to say.

Also, Devs had said that they plan to introduce a deflect skill to Jedi allowing them to return blaster fire to the ranged profs, if this is the in the works we will not see much hope for taking this skill out as well. I just think that we as CH have bigger issues than this atm.

Lastly I would say that PvP vs. PvE classes and roles have yet to truly be defined, asking for a change to a class before others are defined in their roles will result, I fear, in notthing being done for this or anyother of our bigger problems.

Sorry these post seem like rambles to you, I'm at work so I only get to post when the boss is out lol

Hi

I came back to tell you Jedi this.

How about you give us CH's the ability to take your lightsaber from you and beat the crap out of you with it.

Or how about if you try to take control of a MCH's pet it drains you completely and you have to rely solely on the pet to fight for you? Then I could walk past that pet and kick your a$$. How would you feel if you try and take control of my pet and if you miss it does triple the damage and is resistant to any force attack?

How about we just freaking drop the whole freaking Jedi profession down the freaking toilet where it belongs.

Good idea.

I never liked jedi's anyway, the best jedi were when they weren't seen, they weren't heard and they were hunted. How about we give Jedi constant tef. Hey there you go, how about open season on Jedi all the time. Doesn't matter, rebel, imp you go Jedi you have always on TEF. I like it.

And when you die we get to loot your god forsaken bodies of everything. Yeah you want to be Jedi fine. Instant TEF always on and if you attack anything, 50 Imperial Dark troopers and 5 DarkJedi show up to snuff you. Yeah I like that too. You want to be UBER Jedi, then you pay the price.

....and then no matter how hard we get nerfed, we still keep CH because we are still some of the coolest characters on the game.

Regardless of whether or not only 10% of the base read the forums....regardless of whether or not you avtivly partake in PVP. If you PVE for faction..you are still in jeoperdy of these skills. These skills will affect everyone EXCEPT the minority..that being the Neutral CH. I think it is possible to make a pretty good guess knowing that.

It is also possible that CH isn't ment to be a strong PvP class, but that role remains to be seen with the upcomming CB. If we really want to see changes then I suggest when the CB threads open up we get busy there with clear cut data to back our clamis and needs.

This was an example of a skill that Devs have pulled upon seeing that it could be used to greif players. Even the minority are protected from greifing. These skills server only one purpose...greifing CHs.

Also, Devs had said that they plan to introduce a deflect skill to Jedi allowing them to return blaster fire to the ranged profs, if this is the in the works we will not see much hope for taking this skill out as well. I just think that we as CH have bigger issues than this atm.

2 different issues. It's one thing to randomly deflect energy back to an opponent, but will the jedi be force pulling those weapons out of the hands and using them back on the opposition? No.... So they shouldn't be able to take control of my pet and order it to attack me!

Lastly I would say that PvP vs. PvE classes and roles have yet to truly be defined, asking for a change to a class before others are defined in their roles will result, I fear, in notthing being done for this or anyother of our bigger problems.

Whether we are PVP or PVE...the ability of a single class to completly destroy our very foundation of this professions is wrong. If we are PVE..the jedi have no use for it. If we are PVP, then it is far too powerful because it takes away our ENTIRE ability to fight. I propose it be made to work for jedi only in PVE. They still get to charm wild creatures...we don't have our pets killing us. Sounds fair to me.

Now I think we are getting closer to the problem at hand, this is a very good statment here ( not that you others wheren't it's just we could go back and forth all day). This is an idea that needs to be added to the presentation of the problem along with some of the solutions being offered up on our threads. See here you clearly stated that this Jedi skill makes no sense because it, in effect, doesn't fit into the current layout of combat roles. PvP it makes us usless, and in PvE your are in danger because of a TEF and have no way to defend yourself.

I think this is closer to a concept the Devs can get behind, it puts it in terms they can relate too faster. Well at least it presents the problem as a more presice one, rather than as something we don't like cause we don't like it.

Along with Vex pointing out that a blaster deflect is only a random shot back at you rather than something that last the entire battle, we are really gaining good format for this issue.

There are solutions being brainstormed on other threads ( as you well know ) so that will be great help too. Like i've always said, I don't think they would remove it, and I would like to see it in PvE only skill for Jedi but I bet we get some kinda " the code don't work that way" answer. I still think our best hope is to ask for ways to defened aginst this.

Thanks

"The problem here is that it is putting class control of another player in players hands. It negates us as a profession in the hands of the right player. That is too much power at any time. It makes no difference how few people can do it. Would you think it fair if a few creature handlers could walk up and take away a rifleman's rifle and start shooting them with it at the same level of skill as the rifelman?"

**That is a quote but I can't figure out how to do quotes hehe**

For me, this statement hits the problem square on the nose. I do hope this message gets across to the Dev Team before it gets out of hand in more than one profession.

"When Sony and Lucas set out, we said, 'How can we do this and not make another EQ?' We didn't want it to be all about Luke, or combat, or lock our players into a class. So we created a system that would allow players to switch professions during the game, and there would be a lot of gameplay around making that change. If you want to go from architect to scout we've created a system to make that happen." - Julio Torres

Although I'm sure that was an honest response from Vass, what CH doesn't cringe when they hear a dev say "Oh that won't be much of a problem" when CH's point out a potentially crippling profession flaw?

Their callous indifference to the state of most non-Jedi profession these days borders on being simply insulting to a paying customer. "Yeah, yeah, you're so broken, what does being a little more broken matter?" ... somehow that's not very reassuring.

What publish 9 did was ignite a new nerf war. Ahh, reminds me of the Golden Age of CH. This is not just last month's Flavor complaining about being pwned by this month's Flavor. I have seen complaints from about every professeion except Image Disigner. Armorsmiths are worried it will kill comp armor, Weaponsmiths worry it will kill uber weapons and so on. Heck even CH's are up in arms and we do not even PVP. lol There are now Jedi ninja looters, Jedi's farming any overt for xp, Jedi griefing in many ways. Most think the GCW is now over and so on. The good news is CH is not longer the most hated profession. It has be replaced by Jedi. Now, I love to start nasty rumors.... How about lightsabers cause lag? The "Not Starwarsy" crowd is already up in arms. Wrong period, you know. I sense a disturbance in the Force and it does not look good for the Jedi.

I re-iterate for all those people who still don't see the logic in fighting against mind trick, the point is at some point CH HAS TO be un-nerfed in pvp. whether it be a month, a year, or a decade, it's just not statistically possible for us to stay nerfed forever. and once we aren't nerfed, jedi WILL get mind trick! their not stupid, if we get powerful they will aim to take us out! and of course, this means we become even WORSE than if we were horribly weak in pvp! so i dont see how making us all become WORSE is your idea of a 'perfectly resonable jedi skill'. they might even hafta make up a new word for it, because at that point we would be PAST 'nerfed', we would be.....something worse.
