Thread: CH Discussion (Devs are welcome)

Constructive threads seldom seem to get notice, I'm afraid.

I disagree with this to a certain extent, but it is more of a sematic disagreement. I think the Devs *do* see a lot. To think otherwise would mean that the Correspondants are completely irresponsable and I think most of them, Vert included, do a pretty darn good job.

As for getting *replies* to issues, concerns, bugs, etc. I agree that this is a problem and the Devs could do a *lot* better. I find it hard to lump the Correspondants in this because I suspect they're asking questions just like we are, but aren't getting responses as fast (or at all) as they'd like.

Tiggs is still pretty new and is making the rounds. From what I've seen she's slowed her rounds of the profession forums, but that may just be indicative of the number of threads/issues she is trying to absorb.

Who knows though? Without more/better communication we're just all guessing and I hope Tiggs acts quickly to change that perception.

I applaud Tivo and his efforts /clap /cheer. He has been doing this for quite some time now, and is truly a champion for the CH community. He carries a certain amount of credibility in that he has game tenure, and is also a die hard CH fan, that fact that he has tamed all rares alone speaks tremendously for his dedication and passion to the profession.

A few months ago I made a post asking when the last time anyone on this board had ever heard from or gotten a reply from anyone that works for SOE. All that could be dug up was some 1 line comment that I believe dated back to January and the nerf.

As many have stated it would be nice to know that as a voice and acommunitywe are heard, and that you don't have to join the Test Center to make that happen, hellI feel like I am on the Test Center half the time anyway. Most of us do not have time to create characters on the Test Center, because we invested that valuable time in our server characters. I wonder how many people installed this game and said to themselves " I'm not gonna play a regular character, I'm just gonna play on their Test Center" I know I didn't. Maybe it should be a requirement that all correspondents be very active on Test Centers I don't know, I do know that they seem to be pretty busy already.

Speaking of which our Correspondent seems to be very quite as of late, or maybe it's just me. I think the last I heard was that he went to the meeting and more info would be forthcoming....did I miss that info??

To sum it up....great work Tivo. on a side note, I also posted a "hater" note on Tiggs new job announcement, and then retracted it out of guilt. But maybe I was right. Tiggs stated that she was just begining to read the forums, and that she was a SIMS player, I am still skeptical about hiring an existing employee from the inside with minimal exp in this game and even less xp on these forums. So I am not putting my money on her to do us any miracles, plus with her boat and two kids...blah blah blah you get the point.

Can someone who works for this damn company just come on and say something like " we hear you, we respect your opinions, and oh by the way you will be pleasantly suprised in the next patch, month, year etc......

I appreciate the effort folks but realy I think its doomed for the time being. I'm happy folks are keeping the pressure on, eventualy it will work, but until JTL comes out were not going to get anything that isn't already in the pipeline. The turn around on bugs is often pretty slow unless they are consistant and effect the whole player base.

Is auto storing still a problem? I havn't had it happen in 5 months and I havn't seen the usual scores of posts here about it this month. Just curious.

I'd say well start getting some love in November/December at best, more likely early next year some time. I still take issue with some of the "issues" folks have. BE's deserve the abbility to make better creatures than we can tame (with the possible exception of super rares which should be good in the same way looted DOT weapons are good). They were inteded to be the crafting class that supllied us with our equipment. The only reason it seems strange to us is because they were broken for 6 months after the game came out. Our combat power is very weak because of the whole monster nerfage. I liked that crittters are better balanced by CL than they were before, but without the promised combat balance we are getting the shaft. I'm begining to thing the solution would be to up creature power across the board, making missions more challenging and giving us a boost.

I think that BE' s should be able to make better pets of course, they should also be able to enhance our wild tames, but most of all I am begining to think that nerfing buffs are what combat really needs in this game plain and simple, oops did I say nerf.

I read and post every day. I would like nothing better than to be a fountain of new info (well... exept for a nice PLT. Paralope Lettuce and Tomato sandwich. When the paralope is nice and lean... I love that ), but I can only post what I know and what I have permission to pass along.

The revamp docs are not forgotten and are still in progress, but we're all going to have to continue being patient for the time being. I really appreciate it, and look forward tohaving lots ofdiscussions with you all when they do become available.

Thanks boss that helps me a little bit, was your PLT a sideways reference to the Princess Bride?? I dunno but it triggered something in me . Anyway good to know you are still here, and I'm sure I speak for everyone when I say we are awaiting any and all info with baited breath. Can't even give us a hint eh.... oh well thanks for responding.

No problem. I saw the blood-stained prowler thread yesterday, but I've never heard of that creature either. If it is real, I can only guess it may be some really obscure quest target that no one's ever heard of (or perhaps something new). This is the first I've heard of such a sighting, myself.

I have some facts that I'd like to constructively state if there are no objections...

(...waits...)

Ok, here ya go!

The following thread was posted bya forum JTL Beta player stating there were bugged missions that needed fixed. This thread was created at 10:42am EST and received a Dev response from Thunderheart exactly 15 minutes later. http://forums.station.sony.com/swg/board/message?board.id=Missions&message.id=2343#M2343

This thread was posted in the JTL forum stating two simple questions regarding JTL website info. It was posted at 5:34pm today and received a Dev response (two words and a smiley face) by Thunderheart exactly 16 minutes later.

http://forums.station.sony.com/swg/board/message?board.id=lightspeed&message.id=90058#M90058

This thread was posted in the "In Live" forum and received a Dev response from Thunderheart exactly 6 hrs and 19 mins after someone placed this question: "Why not answer the question everyone wants to know? IS PHASE 2 HERE YET?!?!" Ironically, TH's comment stated: "We arent going to say. A Jedi should know patience." TH's response can be found on page 9.

This thread wassuggestedby Thunderheart, andposted by a forum player who was contact with him. It contains discussionideas for "wild space." TH replied exactly 9 hrs and 15 mins later.

Lastly, this thread was posted by a forum JTL Beta player who confronted a quest conflict and questioned what he may or may not have been doing wrong. Received a Dev response from SpaceRancor exactly 9 hrs and 32 mins later, who helped explain the little fix he implemented to the games code in order to make players content with that one little issue.

And in the CH forum and many others thousands of requests, questions bugs go answered for months.

Thanks SOE we appreciate your concern for the regular guy. NOT

....and then no matter how hard we get nerfed, we still keep CH because we are still some of the coolest characters on the game.

Can't take the time to address issues that have been around for months, unless it has to do with Jedi or JTL, then the maximum wait time is less than a day...
