Thread: CH Discussion (Devs are welcome)

I would like to discuss the fact that the SOE team has still not once acted towards hotfixing, patching, or even provide any info on the Creature Handler issues that have been collecting dust for atleast nine whole months. These are not requests, they are necessaities that must be implemented soon in order to save hundreds of players from quitting. This is not a threat. This is not harassment towards SOE. This is a constructive discussion informing anyone with the power to acknowledge and act towards these issues to do so, and in a timely manner. This is not elementary school. Please stop punishing forum players like they need a time-out. I respect and appreciate your concern, but we are too big of a consortium to silence...our issues are more important than any new additions...and we are customers who deserve the prolonged right to ensure our contentment with this game. We are not content. We are beyond impatient after submitting feedback, reporting bugs, and receiving no responses from the Dev team, except a banned player here and there. This is not sarcasm. This is not pointing the finger. Also, this myth that we aren't being ignored is absurd and spread by people who only do what they are told to do rather than listen to the blatant truth in front of them (please read the CH revised Request List for more information). This is not a complaint forum, if you want to complain about us complaining about the game you are bound to...then fix it. We are telling you whats wrong, all you have to do is listen. This is not harassming SOE or its affiliates in any way. This is a constructive statement informing SOE that they have game issues which require action. I apologize for any criticism or play-on-words that have risen from forum activists. If you seek further assistance, please contact your local Creature Handler. Thank you for reading the SWG Creature Handler Forum Discussion Thread and have a nice day.

This is straightforward, polite, and constructive.Tivo has summed it quite nicely. Some dev input of any kind would be nice.

I had a post they apparently deleted. Myabe the title Paranoia. . .? wasa bit too harsh. Dev input would be good to ease the apparent hostilities, if anything.

I was actually replying to that, but when I hit the "submit" button, I found it had been deleted mercilessly...

Hope no one found it too harsh. That wasn't my intention.

players talk to each other, and to correspondents.

correspondents talk to players, each other, and to devs.

devs talk to correspondents, and to each other.

the 'proper avenue' for issues you FEEL require hotfixes, recoding, or whatnot... is to /bug the issues as they arise (preferably from TC, and not from Live), and keep your correspondent informed.

posting wildly on the forums is NOT the way to get the attention of the devs. at best, forum posts serve as information for correspondents to check, re-check, and pass up the chain.

So then the community Manager (was TH is now Tiggs) then has no purpose. you cannot manage a community without going into it every now and then.

If you look back to June-August 2003 the devs used to post far more often until the initial "Oh Wow" wore off and the negative feedback began.

They do need to be more active and they do need to let us know what they are working on. They have shown they can be more active, but they choose not to.

Nicely worded post, Tivo. However, this thread will more than likely go unnoticed. Tiggs said hi once. And TH said hi a month or so ago. Aside from correspondents coming in when one of their own is questioned, that is about all the attention we're going to see until/if the combat revamp ever happens...

hopefully this thread will last a while

I'm all for discussion as long as it is not one sided, we have had many constructive threads here and never has there been a reply on anything, even a reply from a swg team member saying something like

" very thought out, its a good idea, hopefully someday we can implement it"

It would mean alot, silence is not always golden

Normal threads seem to go unnoticed. The only time I've seen Tiggs post personally was like a few days ago in a thread clarifyingsome flamming on the Tempest boards.

Constructive threads seldom seem to get notice, I'm afraid.
