course, what if you have a pet that is down to 80% vitality, when you re deed, would that not need additional coding to work out how that is handled?

That was kinda what i was trying to get at before, but did so very poorly. Creatures that are stored would not be just the same deed that a BE produced, because other information would need to be attached. Growth and and vitatity are two things that aren't on the original deed (or at least i would assume they aren't, would be a waste of space if they were). Also there is the problem with wild pets that are never deeds to begin with...

I like this idea, I'm just trying to help hash it out a bit better...

Very good idea. As a MBH I can carry crates of my weapons around with me. I like the idea of letting there be a creature market again. I am all for there being a way to store pets in inventory. Its not that we have a ton of space to use. They could make redeemed pets start over as babies again if they are worried about abuse. We can already carry pets we bought in our inventory. Just let us store pets we tamed in the wild to be inventory bound and switchup.

Yes, I would also definitely be a fan of pet redeeding.

This would also stop us having to delete one of our beloved pets every time we want to make space for a new one.

Talon,

Great post. The issue is database space. Vitality is already stored on a Deed or new tame as a default most likely. The fact 22 pets get monitored now for CH is no problem. The problem will be stylistic commands.

Off the top of my head there are about 15 trained commands. Each one of them will need to be coded. Of course this would be best settled if Training were done away with as a necessity.

/PetSpecial1 should become the CH version of /legshot1. Gained in a specific box and used only by someone with the appropriate level CH skills.

Defaults could be /PetAttack /PetFollow /PetGuard. Increase CH XP for Taming. Do away with training XP.

Of course if all pet commands have a default where would the market be for CH Deeds? Dunno. But I could point out Profession Specific Pets threads. Ways to make mounts useful threads.

Maybe the fact is we have no market now because we do not consolidate our efforts to have a market. Maybe each one of us should charge 1K per command taught. It isn't like we just press a button to do it. Have a factory make it. Or make them poof out of thin air using the force. We have to type the commands and wait for the mind numbing client think of a name or what cool way they can say sic em, attack or kill. We invest more time interacting with our clients and get the least for it. But we are the ones who sell ourselves short. Charge your friends too, a payment system will never work if someone can get it for free anywhere and anytime they choose.

Actually How much strain would that really put on the DB?

There aren't too many CH's left, what would we do get 1 of each pet? we still need a place to store them so whether we fill a house with pets or items it shouldn't do much.

I wouldn't care if we had to retrain them as long as they learn the commands the first time. (besides how many commands do we actually train them in if it isn't for xp?)

Well therein lies a problem. There needs to be some way of tagging a creature as being already trained even if the commands are lost, which means more coding in order to implement such a thing. Otherwise that opens up a loop hole for someone to redeed a pet and then retrain to get infinite xp...

No reason for something like this not to be implimented, hell, I'd settle for my pets to make noises once again. How long is this lame bug gonna last?...

you mean like the docs in the village, who call a pet buff it and store a pet for infinite xp so they can be

j3d-3y3 and pwn us all?

Perhaps putting the redeed on a timer would be the answer, redeeding 'locks' the deed for an hour , or whatever time, stopping this being exploited by anyone.

As for the condition of the pet, ship chassis have hit points, they also have decay on those hit points, so it stands to reason that the code to track the pet vitality would also exist.

We also know that vehicles and driods in data pads work on the same code as pets already, which is why the call restrictions apply to them all, one would assume the basic code is the same for ships.

As it stands, the 2 rare pets I have just take up data pad space, I have a screecher and a swamp stalker, the screecher in particular took so long to find I wouldnt dare use it, as I could never replace it, so there it sits.

My friend is a BH, he has a legendary LLC, he is in the same situation.

The difference? He can hang his in his house, for people to admire, he doesnt have to carry it with him everywhere it goes,

Now its been confirmed we are regarded as a combat class, and after our year of nerfdom, it is time we get some benefits once again.
