Thread: Top Five Issues with the Creature Handler Profession
I will say I agree with most here on the issues. I started my path to ch from day one of release. Most of the changes have been bad and some good. They do need to make some more changes tho. Those that say its not worth being a master are correct, but i still took it to master because I errand the title. I also get faction for pets killing npcs but I dont get faction for when it kills rebels npc(needs to be fixed). also when i pull a mission it should be based on my lvl a ch since I'm not very skilled with a weapon. The cap does need to be raised on master. A master should get more from ch than they do now. Most ppl in the game are getting just enough skill to get decent pets. Well my two cents anyway.

1. Up the called CL cap at Master Creature Handler
2. Follow bug along with the warping to datapad are seriously messed up. Let us call pets anywhere.
3. Storage.. gives us the droids back or give us some type of "stable" we can store pets.
4. More variety. We really need some new / different type of pets. They all look the same just different names. It's also really slim pickings the higher up your go in the profession.
5. Faction kills. You should get faction points for a kill your pet preforms.
and
6. Mission levels should reflect the groups exp / levels. I'm a CH so my weapon skills are lower. With a T21 equiped and my GSP we can basicly walk thru a lvl 11 mission with our eyes closed. Now I'm not saying make an ATST spawn on a faction mission at lvl 12 but c'mon.. When grouped mobs /con differently. Why not when browsing mission at a terminal.
Sorry for posting 6 but there are even more problems with this class. I feel lucky at least this class works with some sorta sacrafices. Unlike the BE or DE even the Chef is borked.. So I have resolved myself to waiting along time till our profession is addressed again. Unless your going to NERF us again. Which is probably more likely then giving us some respect again...
1.) I need to sell pets on a vendor
2.) I need to sell pets on a vendor
3.) I need to sell pets on a vendor
4.) I need to sell pets on a vendor
5.) I have all these pets that i cant sell on a vendor
1. Pets auto-storing for no reason. This is not only annoying but very deadly while in combat. My pets always seem to dissapear when fighting against higher-level creatures, who then immediately attack and kill me once my pets have vanished.
2. Pets randomly stop following for no reason. Using /tellpet does not always work to get them following again. Often the pets will stopand then creep along very slowly, and the only fix is to store them, camp, call them again, disband camp, travel for a few minutes, then repeat process. Very annoying.
3. Having to click the control icon in the datapad a dozen times in order for the 'call' command to appear is just plain ridiculous. This has been going on for weeks, and there have been several patches since then. It just seems to me like this is something that should be knocked out fairly quick. I have also heard that this was coded on purpose to stop an exploit. Surely the devs must admit that this was some quick, sloppy coding. There must be a more efficient, less-sloppy way of dealing with cheaters?
4. There is very little advantage to becoming a Master CH. No variety of higher-level creatures. Give us some new creatures that only a Master can tame and use.
5. Increase the number of pets allowed in the datapad, or give us some other kind of storage option, such as being able to leave a certain number of pets inside our houses. Or, allow architects to build stables, which we can place to store pets and pay maintenance on like houses/installations.
The following is not a CH issue but a general gripe. Bugs seem to get fixed but then return with later updates. I have worked as an IT engineer with several software companies, and all had proceedures and systems for managing code so that this kind of stuff does not happen. Are the devs even using code-tracking software? Can I get a job there and help you work some of this stuff out?? ![]()
Here's a major issue:
We don't know for sure whether or not any of the developers actually play this game and if any of them play CHs. We're pretty sure they don't but I've never heard that they do; popular opinion is that they don't. If they don't play, then they should. They should play just like us (within the rules)and be subjected to the same frustrations as we are.
If any of the developers actually like CH as a class, then they should play one (without a supporting combat specialization beyond the level 4 marksman skills.). Let them try to tame a graul or a rancor with a broken mask scent. Let them agonize over which of their first pets to give up to get a newer, more powerful pet.
Cant speak for a rancor, but I no **edit** tamed 8 grauls today in 15 minutes out of luck. There was a 9th that I did not have room for.
Its not that hard.
HOW ABOUT CREATURE REGENERATION RATES!!!
OMG they are so freaking slow......My Probot Regens faster....you guys have to do something about this, it is absolutly rediculous how long it takes a pet to heal in the data pad...if at all!
This is a good thing, and on purpose. You can heal full wounds by feeding it a 10cr treat, you can fully heal mind damage / wounds by doing a single /trick1. Thats right, mr I have no medical skills can heal up to 4000 wounds just by feeding it 1 treat as a non ch. Jack that number up to an insane amount for a ch.
If they healed decently, you would just put Graul_Mauler001 away, and pull out Graul_Mauler002, completely negating any medical attention for the strongest tanks in the game - CH pets.
Bottom line is that CH heal wounds better than a master doctor, heal mind damage better than a Master entertainer, are capable of using stims that heal mind damage and require no skill, and can have pets that have light armor with 40%-75% or greater resists to things, which doesnt degrade.
Give me a break on waaaa my pet doesnt heal fast enough. Stop feeding it to things that would 1 hit a person and destroy said persons armor over the course of a couple days if abused as badly as you do your pets.
I dont think treats should even heal wounds myself.
I will say however that I like many others, will bandwagon till they nerf this "already very nerfed and pathetic" class. Heh.
1. Pets running away, happens most often with large pets or against large enemies. Very annoying and very dangerous.
2. Mask scent is fubar.
3. Pets not regenerating in datapad when auto stored.
4. Need more pet storage either in datapad, droids, some sort of repository that could be kept in your house... anything... just need more storage.
5. The ability to see creature levels without needing master scout would be nice.
Dogders wrote:5. (this is another thing needs fixed. make commands silent so rest of world doesnt have to be bothered by ... Rex Follow, rex Attack, Rex group, etc etc)
Ummm they did fix this.
/tellpet -command-
Read the patch notes.
1. I don't care what anybody says, it is NOT right that just anybody can control a 2200 HAM creature like they were a CH. Non-CH pets should consist of the ones in the "flesh eating chuba" arena and no more. Pets are out of control because of the non-CH users, not the real CH's.
2. More variety, I like a pet that "looks" like it fits my character's role. Sorry, spiders and bugs and such just don't fit me, but sure are nice "tanks".
3. Better pets at Master. More specifically, ones that do more damage. I would like to see it possible to use pets ONLY as my main weapon at the Master level.
4. More pets in storage at Pack Master or Master CH.
5. Not relevant to all, but I've been looking for a baby Giant Peko Peko for MONTHS now. I have hired several folks to find me one to no avail. I'm starting to think they're just fabled ![]()
Let me see now, on Flurry, where I am an Imp, I have three ATSTs, which I can call and group at the same time. Now mind you, Im NOT calling for and ATST nerf cuz, well.....I really really really like my ATSTs.
But as Master CH on eclipse I will be able to what.....Run away?
1. At master CH, increase pet Max Pet Lvl and Max Number of Pet Lvls
2. Kimos - I bought one, dang it. I wantto use it. Bluurgs also. (Oh come on, like I'm the ONLY one...)
3.Fix the auto-stored pet, lost pet, dissappearing pet, running away pet, stuck pet, OMG I'M GOING TO KILL MY PET!
4. More pet storage. MORE!
5.Tie in CHs better with the BEs. Let us tame high Clvl babies that we wouldn't be able to control as an adult. Let us take baby to a BE who can then /sampledna and make us a BE'd baby we could control as an adult.
5a. I should be able to call pets where ever the heck I please.....This includes faction pets and droids. The current situation is just silly. I can remeber all the times that Luke popped a tent when he needed R2 to do something....
