I have to say that pets have become quite useless after the patch .

there resists are way to lowi think it should be brought back to the old levels again and maybe even a little bit higher because pets suck even harder now its even almost impossible to do a high level mission with a pet and i am not even going to begin about how bad they suck in pvp.

Not only resistances but armor rating. More pets need light and we need some pets with medium armor (for PVP). Of course, it's hard to pull suggestions out of a hat when we don't know what direction devs want the CH profession to go. Hopefully the In Concept thread will help devs clarify that. But yes, the good pets are few (Arachne Webmaster, Boar Wolf Ravager, Gaping Spider Recluse, Bloodseeker Mite, Mantrigue Hunters and Screechers), but even those won't hold a candle in PVP, which is a real problem. IMHO the CH tree needs revamped to allow for a true CH fighting class, not just support. I'd rather have total creature fighting ability than pistoleer and creatures combined. Tougher pets, greater pet variety...this would go a long way to help CH cope with its recent nerf losses. Then add some real options later like a CH figher class tree and custom pet stat/endowments/specials that stay with the pet for life after initially set. There are so many great ideas to put this all together and yes, it will take some programming, but it would greatly benefit the CH profession and bring it up to part with everyone else. I still think we should all wait and see how bad the other professions are hit with the nerf bat before demanding massive changes. We may just be more viable afterward.

Again, I stress... CH should have an option to be a fighter profession. If you have pets and they're made for fighting then why not give us that option? A sub-tree for fighting class, otherwise the CH is a support class (as it is now). It makes more sense for a CH to rely on his pets and be in total control in combat with ranged and melee attacks than to have pets being meat shields while we blast with our pea shooter. I don't want to be support. I want to be a fighting class.

And to expand on that, what happened to TH's statement that a mount could be used AS WELL as two pets? This completely fell off the radar after vehicles were introduced. If CH is made a fighting class then a mount that is your weapon along with another pet or two would be ideal for combat, especially in PVP. A mount that deals the damage with you on it. There are so many possibilities for CH. We're all basically on the cusp of being a fighting profession, we've just not been given the ability to do so.

I would like to complain about the last change. I'm not calling it a patch, because patches fix things.

Most of the pets that I have are pretty much worthless post-change. They have no kinetic resistance and little armor if any and does not last long enough to finish out a single mission. And I know that you pointed out this was a big deal already. In my eyes, I would say, "IT'S THE ONLY DEAL". Without kinetic resistance, PVE is DPVE. "Dead Player vs. Everything. Pets are the MCH's weapons, well toys now.

People pointed out that this is a combat profession. It's, However, the only combat profession "NOW!" that can't sustain it self. The CH, for lack of a better word, is a crap profession. I've been enjoying the CH for 5 months. I've been able to solo missions, explorer, survey, and do many other things that are not fun in a groups. I'm a medic and an artisan as well and the pets would protect me while looking for locations to plant harvesters, forage for medical, and enjoy the game. If the pet is going to vanish while I'm being attacked what good is it? Blah blah blah. It suck's. I now must choose to drop the MCH or Drop the other professions and choose a different combat profession. I'm hoping that the developers pull there head out of there @$$ and stop acting on second hand comments from players with different professions. If you're not a CH then you don't know what it's about.

The change was to control dabbling, was it not? The Greater Sludge Panthers once were level 23. Now they are level 25, with no armor and hardly any resistance to kinetic attacks. They upped the level eliminating 3 out and lower the stats limiting the effectiveness. If the patch was to eliminate the dabblers, this is the first indication that the statement made was to blow smoke up a Rancor's @$$. Almost all the changes made effected the Masters more than the dabblers.

I'm rambling now, thank you for reading but one more thing.

Even the changes suggested in the header post are worthless. I don't care about stables or special attacks. If the stupid pet doesn’t help me out then why have more space for more worthless pets? Why have more babies spawn if they are all going to suck anyway?

Quick question for you? Have the devs set a timetable for the broken special attack commands to be fixed? Have they even acknowledged that its broken? Are they hiding under their workstation table with hands over their earssinging La La La were not listening?

Yes Im a CH thats annoyed at the latest overplayed CH nerf.

They have the time to nerf the willies out of my favourite proffession. But they dont have the time to fix the bugs that plague us? Come on...

Right now CH is a joke. In 6 months time when theyve nerfed the bejesus out of all the other proffessions it might be ok again. I hear commando is the next in line for a good nerfing.

Until then its gonna go the way of the ranger: a proffession that is only for rpers and diehard fans.

Having said that Im gonna stick with it. Guess Im a diehard fan but I wont be getting rid of my favourite pets. Even if they do get taken down by a tka in under 30 secs. It seems one well placed backhand to the nose is too much for those big ugly rancors. Big girlie wart-covered blob GET UP YOU STUPID THING.

Sorry rambling now...

Anyway Im serious, any comment from a dev on the special attack front?

lol I think the In Concept section should be named Incompetence instead. Honestly, they must have a sizeable work for to be able to crank out new content (DH tree, etc.), rebalance the game AND fix bugs. Sounds to me like they're shirking on their real duties, which should be fixing the current problems instead of adding new ones. Since it's all falling on deaf ears and the devs are going to do what they **edit** well want then we're all just flapping our gums for no reason but to flatter ourselves into thinking we're making a difference.

Well youve done a good job on the whole of the problem. I myself have canceld my account and quit the game because of this last nerf("not a patch ..those fix the game"). I went from a great class to a class thats suppose to be a elite master class...the reason for costing do many skill points , to a class that cant even solo any more or PVP wich is supposed to be one of the main things about this game. The GCW is a joke right now i was beat down by a combat medic and a half wast to master marksmen. LOL they had a great time at that took out my best pets with np all they had to do was use DOT's and hop on there speeders and run around in circles on my pets till they died then they just killed me cause I cant go in on commando or BH because of to litle points. And now its cost me my credits to get stims and BE new bull$hi7 pets and with out any one wanted mounts or pets i have no cash flow and ive been forced to do some lame deliver missions because my pets cant take on the nest for most missions I get because they are wimps...lol I lost 2 maulers to one in the wild the thing ripped them apart like they where babys. Any way this class has just be totaly screw with the new up coming Battle Droids wich im sure will not have and low resist and weak hams ...

So now im a X-MCH that uses a speeder..cause my mounts only good for those lonly cold nights in the hills when i miss a women and slow as hell. And now ill be a gay X-MCH with a bunch of gay droids to hunt with cause my pets are to **edit** lame to fight.

Well SOE you can kiss my arse and go screw your self I am done and ill not bore you any more with my wines because I spent the last 6 months on your dumb asses...and the 50 on the game.

Once bitten k my fault

Twice bitten k im any idoit

Thrice bitten GO TO HELL

Good bye to all those like me that injoyed this profession and had a blast I wish you all the best ...AndI would have settle with a nerf but this one is just way to much. I to understood that the class was unbalance before but i can only handle so much in the back side with out lube and this has just rubbed me to hard the wrong way.

How about In Concept: Though we won't really do anything for your profession any time soon because if we even think of addressing the CH community now, we will only rekindle the flames of all the CH hating f'tards. Here is your 30 second timer and your not-so-great-super-rare tamables. Enjoy.

If there is just one thing that gets fixed for CH, I'd like to see the rancor be made the big mean monster it's supposed to be. It should be the most feared creature in SWG, but it's laughable right now. If you fixed the rancor and made it tough again (and make it only accessible by MCH) I think a lot of MCH's would be happier. We do need at least one pet that's a status symbol of MCH, why not the rancor? It should be way harder to kill than it is now.

"Constructive feedback is welcome on this, as always. If you see an error, glaring omission, or something you strenuously disagree with, please post to let me know."

I haven't been able to read all the hundred-and-something replies to this thread, but just wanted to add my few cents in here as well. With the "improved AI" they implemented back when they nerfed all natural animals, using pets even in PvE is far less effective. The moment I send in one of my babies to attack a lair, all the surrounding animals immediately agro on me. Now I understand that NPCs could perhaps be "intelligent" enough to recognize a tamer and attack accordingly, but honestly... would a bunch of crystal snakes getting attacked by a rancor obviously "know" to attack me standing 50+m away? I think not.

Also, I find that during nearly every mission I take (NPCs or creatures) my pets are, at one point or another, hit witha bleed shot. This never used to happen so regularly. By the time I can finish killing the targets, get to my pet, and use /firstaid 3 or 4 times, it's already lost a few thounsand points of HAM.

These are just 2 points I've noticed lately that make being a CH almost not worth the effort anymore. It's more trouble than useful to me. I buff up, put my armor on, and can subsequently solo the same missions I'd normally be using my pets for (and I'm currently one of the weekest combat classes asa Pistoleer). If I were to give up CH, reclaim the skill-points and redistribute them elsewhere, I could be even more effective and take on even tougher opponents.
