Having flying mounts would be the greatest thing in the world...if it were something only a MCH could use.
Flying mounts is asilly idea. THERE IS NO REAL FLIGHT PHYSICS IN THIS GAME!!There is no Z-axis movement in SWG. Hence there is no such thing as real flying creatures.
If you want to play a game with real flight ..... here are some examples:
1) Planetside. You have aircraft. They canfly. The can really drop bombs.
2) Shadowbane. There is a birdman playable race. They can fly.
3)Horizons. You can be a dragon, and mature dragons can fly (or so they promise)
4) Everquest II ..... plans to include Z-axis movement and flight.
SWG = no flightpossible

If a BE is a DOCTOR equivalent, then make it a doctor, not a weaponsmith. Eliminate the ability of the BE to create animals, but give them the ability to buff pets. Buffs can consist of long term buffs, like armor and damage upgrades, that last as long as the pet, or decay as armor and weapons do now, as well as short term buffs, such as doctors can give.
Come on. BEs have only even been playable for a month and you're already calling nerf?

Just a thought, and I really hate to add to this thread as I fear CH has so many issues that they will take years to correctly balance, but It seems to me it would be a good idea to utilize the "growing" period of our pets. Perhaps stat foodcould be given at intervals while the creature is growing could influence the end result of the HAM bars. Don't feed the pet during this time and you get less Ham than a wild creature would normally have.
This would add interdependence with Chef profession, and maybe pet vitamins could be produced by BE.
I honestly think MCH is was the most alluring profession in this game, I really enjoyed going on taming excursions, but if we cant make any of our pets distinctive or can buy better from BE's what is the point of it anymore? Also, and I know this is probably asking too much, but depending on what food/vitamins we feed them while they are growing, it would be outrageously cool if it affected their coloring. I mean, think about it - most creatures in the wild vary at least somewhat in appearance.
Outside of those thoughts, I agree with most of what has been said here - including that the original list is well written, comprehensive and obviously took a great deal of time and effort.
I thank the author.
Well stated VertexonGlad to have you as our correspondent.

Why can't they make them hover just like vehicals and just add a wing flapping animation?

Honestly, I can't really see too much logic in a flying pet. HOWEVER, I can see a lot of logic in a mountable kitty like the razor cat or gurrek. Heck, I'd even go for a canid (read: wolf) style mount. Always wanted to be a wolfrider. ![]()

you know what you do when you go to tame a creature? Try doing that 5 times, then crafting twice, hoping you don't get a critical fail each time. That is what a BE does for one pet, and it is aLOT harder then just taming. The DNA we sample has to be of comparable level to the final pet, so it is equally dangerous. Maybe moreso since you need 5 samples to create a pet. The one thing that we do have going for us is that we don't have to rely on babies.
marksman can get guns from the wild. It is called loot drops
Ch's can get pets from the wild. Itis called taming.
In both cases there are crafters who can make better stuff. There are also, in both cases things you can find in the wild that the crafters can't make. (Like fliers or FWG5's for example )
If CH pets are better, what is the purpose of the BE being able to create clones at all?who would buy them? The same nobodies who were buying them before the patch/nerf, that's who.
I am a Master BE/ 2 2 2 3CH and I still use a tamed pet or two in addition to some that I created. Mainly because I still remember the adrenaline rush I got taming that first graul. I also can't make a grand wrix so I keep Lunkhead aroundtoo. I am consideringtaming some lantern birds, because at level 22 it looks like you could have 3 as a master, and they seem to be able to keep up witha speeder.
Bottom Line there is plenty of room for both professions right now. BE's still need CH's for training and as customers for the high end/specific level stuff. CH's can get specifically tailored pets from the BE's.
Sorry for the rant, I have been a BE since beta, and the thing finally works, so I get a little bent when people start calling nerf.
First, we are not uber unless you add the combat skill you have, then we are ok in PVE only, end of story.
Next: SHUT UP ABOUT THE BIO ENGINEERS, good grief they are the only thing keeping me from puking my guts out at this game. I have level 64 pets from BE's that at least can keep some PVE animals at bay for a few seconds. I LOVE THE BE's as should all CH's. I have a level 72 dewback i wish i could use but will have to give up, so shut up about BE pets i love em.
And yes they are doing away with having to make a camp to call pets, so scouting is screwed. Anyway have fun before they nerf us past the stone age into the amobea age.
