You want to communicate? ok let's communicate

Only 1 question then:

Why did almost all good CSR got "canned" by "SOE"?

Im a regular chatter and I'm not pleased at all to see the CSR I used to talk to go away, without a word, not because they decided to go, but because they were asked to leave.
In my mind I have AngelC, JessicaW, NeilH, JohnH, PaulM, ShelomanB...and many other CSR I loved to talk to.

You want to communicate with people, but can't inform them when a "major" change happens. To me major because I spend loads of time helping my fellow players in chat and CSRs are the people we refer to in case we can't help them.
Again a lack of communication coming from SOE.
And for the how I got to know, when you don't see several CSRs for over a week, you start to understand what happens.
Strangely, we got new CSRs who are, sadly, not ready to help us. I've seen answers coming from new CSRs which were totally ridiculous. I don't say they are bad CSRs, but they lack the training and experience.

Want to communicate, then start being honest with us.

This guy is almost as "in tune" with the playerbase as Shug_Ninx was....

I think they locked him up after that whole combat upgrade uprising last year when it leaked that it was getting delayed.

Positive feedback?!?!.....Maybe somebody is "fudging" thier reports to the boss

And who here cares about all that EQ crap?

All I know is armorsmith got ganked into the stone age, sure we get more armor but a monkey could make it now. Might as well be a tailor for all the control I have over my product in the CU. If I wanted to mindlessly craft I'd be a tailor, or a Architect....

How about releasing the metrics on all those lovely exit surveys we have been taking? I'm sure that data would prove to be very enlightening one way or the other.

I am gonna give the CU a chance to come to live, but chances are is that I won't stick around after that. The levels thing is enough to make me quit, not to mention poor communication and downright lies like this letter...

Please, check my account status. I cancelled today, how's that for very positive feedback?

You've lied to me one too many times.

I'm not paying for this broken game any longer. I waited for the CURB and it is garbage. You rushed it out and cannot make the needed changes in time for your expansion. Guess what? Not buying the expansion either. More importantly,I will never, everbuy another SOE product.

Mmm....

And we've created a new position within our ranks, the Director of Community Relations, specifically to prioritize you, the community, within our service offerings. Alan Crosby, previously EQ Community Relations Manager, will be stepping into this role, and all of SOE's community managers and representatives will report to him, while still maintaining close ties to the game teams, of course. Under this new structure, we will become even more responsive, even more dedicated to customer focus!

So, if I get this right, Tiggs is a Director of Community Relations who will answer to a Director of Community Relations? Unless that mean Alan Crosby will be the one doing for the EQ Community what Tiggs is doing here, but if so the wording is...unclear. (it say ALL of SOE's community managers and representatives will report to him.)

Not that it matter that much for me the player, but I am curious.

I've also cancelled three accounts that are set to expire a month after the CU goes live. I have wanted changes to the existing system for over a year, but the CU looks like a slap in the face to Veterans. Regardless, I hope SOE pulls out a miracle with this. Judging by their track record, they won't.

You know someone need to go down to the SOE HQ and start slapping people in the face. Most people hate the CU and it seem only a few people have anything good to say about it.Frankly I dont see how people think the CU is an improvment. I guess certain people remember how fun the game was when they started and didnt know what to do.

The past is gone. The game will never be like it was when it first came out so get over it people. More so the CU will not make the game like it use to be.

Getting back on subject, No one asked for Ep 3 content because no one realy knows what content is in the movie since it is still a month away from release.

I got banned for negative feedback earlier last month.

On another note, they are listening to us more than they were. The recent changes to CM pre-reqs and Armorsmith resources are proof of this. Sure, they are still failing to address other issues, but at least they are responding to some.

The rest of the letter is total lies.

The following letter from our president, John Smedley, has been posted:

Hello Everyone,

First off, I'd like to say thanks for all of the wonderful ideas we received from you after my last posting. Having this ongoing dialogue is something SOE is committed to in a major way, and it's one of the biggest things you all asked for. So you'll see an increase in our public presence, not just on our boards, but on a lot of the fansites, as well.

I'd like to give you a general update on our games this posting:

Since my last post, we launched our first Adventure Pack for EverQuest II "The Bloodline Chronicles" and over half our player base is already playing it! We are committed to releasing new content between Expansion Packs that goes beyond our live updates, and so we'll continue to release these Adventure Packs on a regular basis -- a first for our industry.

The EQII team is still hard at work on the existing game, and I think that all of the new content the team has added since launch is pretty amazing. In the past few weeks alone, we've added several new high level raids, an in-game mail system, Mentoring (something we're really excited about), two additional character slots for all subscribers, and we just added the new merchant system, which will allow players to sell items in game without having to leave their computer running. That's on top of the usual game additions -- dozens of new quests, spells, items, tradeskill recipes, etc. You can expect us to keep up this pace for a long time to come. Another part of the EQII team is hard at work on our first Expansion Pack, coming out later this year. We've taken a lot of your recent ideas and feedback into account, and we're working on some innovative ways characters can move and interact with the environment. Also, we're taking the first step towards introducing PvP competition with the introduction of a new type of combat!

In Austin, our Star Wars Galaxies™ team is focused on a big change to the game's combat system. The "Combat Upgrade" is now live on the SWG test server, and it's getting very positive feedback from the SWG playerbase. The team is also putting the finishing touches on Star Wars Galaxies™: Episode III Rage of the Wookies™, which launches in less than a month. The SWG playerbase is very strong, and we're continuing to put a lot of effort into making Star Wars Galaxies™ even better and adding new content all the time. The latest expansion pack adds Episode III content into the universe -- something our SWG players were asking for!

There's also a lot of action on EverQuest. We're consolidating many of the servers to keep the game an exciting place to be, and we are investing a lot of time and effort in making this game an even better experience for its many fans. EverQuest just had its 6th anniversary on March 16th. It's very gratifying to see such a strong demand for this game, but when you look at how much of an impact EverQuest has had on so many people's lives not to mention the entire industry it's not very surprising. We continue to hear remarkable stories of how people are touched by the game. In fact, we just had a player name her daughter Firiona!

One other subject I wanted to touch on is our Customer Service department. We've made some significant changes, and I'm proud to say our average telephone hold times are now 5 minutes or under. And our in-game response times are among the best in the business! We know how important this is to our players, and we will continue to focus on decreasing these response times even further.

We're going to have a lot of new things to talk about in the upcoming months. Our games continue to thrive, and we have a bunch of exciting developments coming out of our San Diego, Austin and Seattle studios. We're enjoying the present and looking toward a very bright future for SOE and the online games industry, and I wanted you to know that we truly appreciate your support and feedback, and we're listening! We're here to entertain you.

Thanks,

John Smedley

Oh how I laughed! oh no I did not. Firstly the first SOE adventure pack was a planetside release but I am not surprised he has forgotten this as the brave few who tolerate the 80's graphics for the apparently very good first person combat experience also have forgotten it. But if you need reminding please check the pc gaming mags' review of it- they are unanimous.

Secondly, the only gaming first are the charges. At thetime of the this post WoW had release over a 100 (i am not joking) expansions to their game in terms of adventure content. What, how come you did not see these on your favourite online gaming store? Because they give them away for free the way we get minor updates to fox broken bits. MxO have made a similar promise to their players and Ihave gone and bought the game because of this

Thirdly, But surely if we are getting a whole new planet to play on we should be greatful? Except we already have. We were promised a new planet with the last expansion, it wasn't quite ready. so have they given it free to those with JTL no they've finished the product (hence the inclusion of JTL) and are selling it to us again. Legally some might think that is a clear case of misrepresentation and potentially fraud.Aren't SOE legally obliged to give this (as in without charge) to those who have already purchased JTL?I am really hoping that some American players are lawyers and sue. This is not a dig against any of the devs and certainly not tiggs who is simply an honest and personable messenger. But come on, not a single US lawyer playing this game. You would be one of the first lawyers in history to be a hero amongst the gaming community! (actually the only one but hey).

I wonder if that is the kind of positive feedback Mr President has been getting?
