My apologies for the late response, we have all been working hard on getting combat upgrade and EP3 ready for release.
To answer your questions:
  • When you purchase the digital download you will also receive the JTL content free and be able to access it. The digital download is on pre-order right now and after we go to regular orders JTL will still come free with the download.
  • For those of you that purchased JTL already you are paying to receive the EP3 content.

So people who already have JTL pay the same for less..?

Eeeyep

well cept me, i got the flash speeder for the same price everyone got brown bag jtl for. so i get a itty bitty bit more

What the ruddy hell was the point of me buying JTL if some new FanBoy comes along can buy both for less than the cost of JTL. Great idea SoE, another one for the record books.

What everyone is forgetting is this is SOFTWARE.... This is NOT a movie, a record, a CD, a DVD Player, or anything else like that...

This is SOFTWARE...

The ENTIRE Software Industry, with the exception of SOE has a UPGRADE POLICY... They update the software, they offer those that HAVE the software a discount on the upgrade...

As a retailler (I own NEW MOON COMICS in Wayne, NJ) - I'm all for making money - as a consumer, I'm all for saving it...

SOE is wrong from a business stanpoint, and a customer relations standpoint... Sorry.... You can NOT offer, for FREE a product that other MAY have JUST spent $20 for a few weeks ago, and then expect those same customers to pay for another update... and all this is - is an upgrade to the existing software...

If SOE said "RotW is $20" but JTL is required no one would have anything to complain about - I would not.... And I'd pay it (as I sadly already have pre-ordered it for2 of my 5 accounts) with no problems..

But you can't say "Hey, JTL owners, pay $20 for RothW but we're giving you nothing for the fact that you just (or even pre-ordered) JTL already - but we're including it free for those new to the game."

There should be an UPGRADE discount, pure and simple... this is NOT a movie, a toy, a car, a DVD player, or any item that has USAGE VALUE... This is SOFTWARE and should adhear to the policies that every respectiable Software Company follows...

And, if this occurs in OTHER MMO's.. Then people on those games should complain too....

There is NO anger here... So I don't need "anger management"... But I would like SOE to RESPECT it's customers - at least once.

I guess people are just shocked that the value of JTL depreciated to $0 dollars in 5 months.

Which is a fat lot slower a depriciation than if they went out and spent their JTL money on hamburgers, or even a brand new console game.

They just need to chill out and understand that these things happen.

Personally, I preordered JTL, and regretted it severely. It just wasn't worth that much money to me. As an X-wing series veteran, JTL made me very angry. I mean they made the ships certs baseed on skill level then fed us the lie that it was twitch based. I was royally cheesed off.

So the only reason I preordered EP3 is out of loyalty to SWG. The JTL lie doesn't undo all the good things they've done. And JTL being packaged with EP3 made it worth my money to preorder it for my other account.

Not exactly true...

Blizzard offered $5 offthe purchased the Diablo II Expantion,to those that purchsed the double-pack of Diablo/Diablo II (within 90 days)...

Sierra did the same for the FIRST update to the SiMS, and for SiM City 2k(?) I don't exactly recall which, but I received a 'cupon' for a rebate as long as I purchased the product within a specific timeframe...(I think theirs was 60 days)

On two of my accounts, I purchased JTL just about a month ago (give or take)... It's unfair that I could have gotten it for FREE if I paid the same amount of money for RotW a month later...

Ok, I'll ammend it to the MMO industry, then.

The last... 6? expansions for UO have been all the previous expansions bundled, plus the new one, for one price. I never got a discount for already owning the previous ones, never bothered me either as long as it wasn't full price ($50).

My point was just that this isn't a new practice, and definately not unique to SOE.

Then, my friend...

You have much more money then the rest of us if it does not bother you... Because it should.

But, hey... If you're happy with it, that's great! I like my money... and want to keep as much of it as I can...

I pay SOE $150 (give or take) a year (per account, but that is MY choice).. I'll gladly pay for updates.. but don't burn me by "allowing" me to pay $20 for something you're going to give away (within a few months) with something else you want me to pay $20 for... That, is not fair on any level.

I totally agree! not only are people just paying the same amount when people who already bought JTL get screwed, BUT does anyone else remember being promissed new planets(PLANETSSSSS) with JTL itself?? just more SOE lies one after another, Its kinda funny, they even lie to there own empolies

Hey! maybe we all should quit and come back a year from now and pay another $25 for the last 4 eps?

Personally, i would not be as pissed if everyone that already got JTL before got something really cool(im talking $25 worth of cool )

Why, because you say it should?

I'm perpetually broke. I'm a college student. That doesn't mean I have to be cheap, though. Pretty much all but the worst expansion is worth $25 to me, I get more entertainment out of it than I would from the same amount of money spent on books or movies. I pre-ordered JtL. I've been playing it since release. I'd be pissed if I paid the money 6 months ago and haven't gotten to touch it until May. But I've been playing it for the past 6 months, so if they want to bundle it with RotW for free, that's fine with me.

Naw, just once I turned 21 spending all my money on booze lost its appeal. =P

Trust me, I've eaten more Ramen noodles and mustard sandwiches than I want to think about.

To answer your questions:

  • When you purchase the digital download you will also receive the JTL content free and be able to access it. The digital download is on pre-order right now and after we go to regular orders JTL will still come free with the download.

  • For those of you that purchased JTL already you are paying to receive the EP3 content.

So basically we should avoided getting EP3 and wait until the next expansion when you release EP3 and JTL again included in that expansion... seem the most economical to me

It's yet another reason for me to wait to purchase the expansion... It's getting to be quite a list of reasons for me not to get it just yet.
