The Everquest II forums have trackers for: Development - Moderators - GMs - Technical Support - Web Team - International Dev. Can we get the same here? I think it would be quite useful.
They do....just never bothered to tell anyone. I dont think we have all the support EQ2 does though... I have never seen anyone with the GM, Web Team, or International Dev titles.

Actually we have the same trackers (every "role" has a tracker) we just didnt want to litter up the top of the forums with every "moderator" post that we do is all. If people show interest in it we can surely add links for other trackers.

Remove the stars. I post on many other boards outside swg board and I notice that ones without any rating system are much better. Without the stars then people will have to post their opinions if they agree or disagree with someone.

I personally love the fact you are removing the star system. It just didn't work.
But I would really like to see a feedback system with the auction forums, kinda like eBay where when you win an auction the buyer can post a comment about the seller and vice versa, obviously this would require some coding but would help the people involved in auctions stay true to their word and not attempt to scam. Something to look at maybe

can you add a mod tracker? Your posts are..humourous to say the least. Plus people will learn the "do's" and the "do nots" of the forums quicker

HOLY CRAP GARVA DONT POST ANY MORE!!! 12,000 POSTS IS A LIMIT!! HOLY MOLEY!
But in reference to this thread... there are ways to turn off star rating on the forum... the people who are "being griefed" should just turn off the stars so they don't have to worry about it.

Hmm, mixed feelings about it. Though it was certainly an invitation for abuse, I actually did find it useful. Oftentimes I'd pop into the hipwright forums with the intent of reading only the especially important or especially interesting and controversial things. I would just look for threads that had any star rating, even one star, and open them. It let me find things much more worth reading than if I'd have to go through every single thread.
Why not have a system that allows people to score a thread positively, but not negatively? If the star column was replaced with just a number indicating how many people recommend this post, it would still help find posts worth reading, and it couldn't be griefed. That way, I could glance through posts on that column that had 3 or 4 votes, and jump straight to the one that had 50.

I have posted many times about this issue. One star griefing cannot be stopped. If you go to options in your profile and turn off the star system all you do is turn off YOUR ability to see and/or rate with stars. Others can still view your posts and One Star you. Up untill now higher rank in the forum has been based on having a higher star average rating. So someone like me with a griefer that wont stop will never get that rank even if all my posts are helpful. The lack of accountablity and/or tracing those that are griefing also made this system poor. Vice-Versa a person could have all his guild mates get on and 5 star all his posts, and volia same affect; someone with an underserved rank. And with the ability to get on after the server reset every day and restar all the posts made it hell for people like me; thats how I only have 250+ posts but have over 1000+ one stars.
People ask "why are people so worked up over starring"? If you have a person that is maliciouly starring all of your posts and you want to run an auction, most people will think twice about dealing with a guy/girl with a one star rating even if he/she is honorable. It also brings a posters credibilty and intergrity into question if he/she has posted something ment to help and/or giving advice to another player. This was unfair.
Good riddance. Thanks again Garva

Good riddance. I turned off the stars a long time ago, but they still seem to show up occasionally. Can't wait until they're gone for good.
