Startled me when I first loaded it, thought I had clicked on something weird. Interesting, here's my feedback:
1. Put our bookmarks near the top again.
2.Allow us to customize the subcatigories shown, and maybe the number of subs shown. For example, under professions I have 10 subcats (the default I believe), andall but 2 are ones I've never visited. I'd love to be able to place the boards there that are relevant to me.
3. Users online and newest members take up a HUGE area, before it was easy to ignore this because it was at the bottom of the page.
4. Get rid of the Top Boards, I see no point to this, 6 of the ten are galaxy trades. *MAYBE* change this to a Hot Threads listing, but again an option to not show up in preferences.

I'm sure a lot of people hated the 1-5 star rating system, but I would like to see it back. When looking through the Game Guides or looking for specific information, the posts with higher stars were the first ones I checked out.

It'd be really nice if somehow we could choose what specific forums appear on our personal home page. It's nice to log in and see a bigger variety of forums hot linked from the home page but as it happens, most of those that pop up aren't of any use to me. Not my profession board of choice... not my galaxy boards of choice. So as far as that goes, for those of us who don't happen to be represented by whatever forums are/were arbitrarily chosen it all means very little.
Ok changed my setting so I see all 38 profession boards which also gives me all the galaxy boards. Guess that'll do, heh.

I really like the change, very nice!
However , there needs to be more options to customize it. Yes, I have looked around in the preferences and its rather lacking. The point of a portal website is to bring the information most wanted by the user to their fingertips as fast as possible. There should be a way to rearrangethe portal catagories, so say if the player goes to Galaxies all the time, that gets moved up to the number one spot, where game updates is, or if that gets the equivalent of a sticky, then where core systems goes.
Also there should be a way to rearrange the subcatagories as well, right now the professions catagory for me shows a whole bunch of professions that are neither in alphabetical order nor professions I particularly care about. There should be a way to anchor specific subcatagories ( in this case professions) boards in the primary catagory section in such a way that serves the user best. If I alwayslooked at theDancer, Pilot, Teras Kasi boards, but those don't happen to be the active boards of the day,with the current system they get buried and I have to manually open the professions catagory, but with an anchoring system, regardless of activity those boards will always be at the ready for my viewing pleasure.
Like I said, very nice changes, just needs a little more work!This can be reallyquite handy with some further refinement.

Unfortunately at this time its not an option, Its going to be the new or old way we will make a permanent decision after the weekend (unless lithium lets me know about some secret way to give you the option then we will turn it on and there will be no worries!).
Many of the suggestions above (about removing top boards, etc. ) are great and we will forward them to see if its possible to do once we decide if we are going to stay with the new system. Thanks for your feedback so far and we are reading it all
Get a decent forum, lithium is obviously total crap and the new layout is uber Bullsh*t, i´m just glad my galaxy has their own DECENT forums, cause if this board stays in the new portal mode i won´t use it anymore
