So I wonder:

  • Have Tiggs finally been sacked for wasting time on silly board games and lame ol'jokes?

  • Have the developers decided to simply focus on their work with the game? (HAAAAAAAH)

  • What the hell is up?

It worries me. And I miss Thunderheart's completely non-community-concerning posts, going "Yep", "I think so" and the like.

Consider this ^_^ it was a three day weekend and most of them are off work. Do you do work from home? Tiggs does alot and this weekend she decided to take time with family rather then do work for free... who would have thought, hmmm.

Ackehece has it somewhat correct. It was a holiday weekend and my family and I volunteeredto help place displaced people from the hurricane into apartments/homes so they could get started on their new lives.

Now how could you argue with that

Just did, look up. Tiggs is the community rep, and should not be talking in terms of one person, but company performance and service. I don't give a hoot about one individual and their altruistic endeavors, but how the company is providing service to the customers. That should be what Tiggs, in her role, should reply to and address, but go figure. This is SWG and SOE, after all.

Well Crizis, the original poster addressed me in his first post (Have Tiggs finally been sacked for wasting time on silly board games and lame ol'jokes? ) So I thought I would reply.

We had on-call people standing by if there was an interruption to the game servers. At that time a post would have been made regarding the status.

Some companies chose to respect their employees. I'm sure you're a kiss-ass manager in the company you work for and that's the only way you've advanced. I've seen it too many times.

Come now. Executive V.P. of a bank. I take escalated service issues, and respond with excellent service. I never addressed one individual, nor Developers or Community Relations persons. My responses were directed, from personal impact that I'm sure has to reflect on many gamers that day, to the service levels demonstrated by SOE on that day, which were none to speak of.

As I've said, while waiting I searched for Announcements, and then searched for any more obscure Dev posts, and found none.

Management change and credibility is expected & deserved, and really a requirement for me to desire to log in and not have my MMORPG time completely wasted. SWG's mismanagement, ongoing, lacks credibility. I have no desire to log into my toon, attempt to accomplish something, only to find out that my blue zebra, 12th level, with 20 badges, isn't going to be turned into tomorrow's 4th tier yellow monkey, and all the zebra's stuff is no longer of value. Without credibility, its just a duck hunt game that doesn't even keep score of how many shots land on a duck.

This game is just that, a game. There are people in the gulf coast who don't even know where they will be living next year. There are thousands in New Orleans are more concerned with if they are gonna survive the night than with when profession xx gets some content. I applaud Tiggs in her attempt to help people on the road back to a normal life.

Also, what purpose would Tiggs serve by coming in on a weekend? She is not coding and she is not really in game development, she is the link between us and the coders/developers/artists. All she can say is, ok I'll find out, or ok, I'll pass that along. She is also held to certain guideline as to what she can or can't say. She does not need to be looking at every flame fest on the boards when it is the weekend and she isn't getting paid for over time. If you do not like the fact that Tiggs isn't here to wash your feet for you when ever you start complaining on the forums, I am sure you can contact a CSR to help you find the cancel button. No one is forceing you to pay money into the game.

I've been hammered by this game many times over on play, but giving Tiggs crap for CS's schedule is silly.

Give her feedback, folks. Not your rants akin to Prosac withdrawl.

OK, you've got my curiosity going. Why is that "silly," and how is feedback about service and the absence of service not feedback? Is that not her job? And should not any representative of a company(community relations aside) respond, address, or pass on any customer issues or feedback, or rather do they just say, "not my job?"

Just curious where you're going with that.

Im all for people having time off, hell I like time off. Im all for people spending time with their families, helping displaced people move into an appartment. What ever people feel they want to do, myself Ive donated.

I think the post though was addressing that if I didnt turn up for work for 3 days without telling anyone my fellow works, those that depended on my service and my boss would be a tad annoyed. Now I know there is little accountability to the player base from the devs point of view, they think only 5 percent of thecommunity posts and everyone else is happy.

But I like to think we are all on the same team and so just a post easily found on the dev tracker would have been nice. Also Im thinking everyone in America (us Europeans are still refering to Christmas as that new age holiday)knew it was labour day some days before hand so why did Tiggs say she would let the people of Bria know about their compensation (for having a server that spends more time down than up)by the end of the week (ie. the weekend) when she knew she was going on holiday. This gave us the wrong impression that she hadnt booked the weekend off. A post would have been fine so that when we sat there for 6 hours waiting for are server to go up we would have been hoping for an offical post. (though I notice the forum moderators were out in force this weekend)

I get a mild kick out of guys such as this that, when their job comes into question, it always entails some high end position with no way to back up the claims. Not saying I do or do not believe. Just that its always convenient.

LOL, pull out the violins. That explains one person, and good for you, but where was the rest of the SOE team on a 3-day gamer-heavy weekend. Closing the shop on a weekend like this is, dare I say it again, like the retailers closing down on the holiday shopping season... you know, open till midnight, Christmas Eve, etc. If you're in retail, you work it, period. It's the job you chose. Serve the customers.

There is a large difference between "Community Relations" and "Catering to those without a life". This is not retail. The devs do not need to post updates on all they are doing 24/7. I am personally glad to see them working on something worthwhile outside of SWG rather then bowing and scraping to the likes of you.

I assumed nothing. There are plenty of adults that would just as soon spout false titles and job duties/desciptions if they thought it might benefit or back up their claims. I could tell you all about what I do as well, but with outproof I might as well have Googled it, then copied and pasted it right here.

I agree, this game is not retail. Now, the Best Buy or Target Store that sold it IS, but The manufacturer itself is not. I personally think that crizis is just upset about wasting undue time waiting for service and has made comments that has gotten himself in a little over his head. Honestly I don't blame him, when was the last time you were upset about something and said some things that maybe you didn't entirely think through the consequenting impact of? I hate wasting my life on this game, so I understand how you feel, crizis. I recommend you just stop posting (or at least give a closing post) so that people will stop flaming you (just like what you requested of tiggs in an earlier post).

So your gameplay was disrupted for a few hours...OMG!!! Call in the National Guard!!

Seriously, take one minute, just one, and think about something other than yourself. Think about the people in the south that have had their entire lives disrupted for far more than a few hours, try a few months, or even years. Suddenly, a few hours in a game doesn't seem that important does it?

I'm not trying kiss butt here, but I applaud Tiggs forhelping to place displaced families, I would do the same if I had the means to do so. Personally, I'd rather hear this, and know that people care and will reach out to people in need.

Whether or not there was a post saying there would be limited customer service, to me is not important. You have food, water, electricity and a roof over your head? Be thankful and just go back to playing your game.

Well, OK, but I'm not in over my head. I still stand by every word. If some fanboys want to flame me, they are welcome to.

It seems like each flame just mistates something or makes some absurd assumption, so I will stop trying to point them all out. I've made my points, they stand.
