The download is a trial version ( just as they have had the 2 week trials of JTL in the past). The download is available on the 5th, two to three weeks before the retail box version. The download will expire, you will need the box when released if you want to continue playing it. Yes, you will need a box for each account just as you do for JTL.

JTL is needed to play this new expansion. The JTL files that come with the download will only be deliverd to you if you do not already have JTL. Again, the JTL download is a trial version and will expire.

Also, you can only get the download if you pre-order the box.

It's just like buying any other game, if you buy it at the time of release, you pay full price. Wait a few months, and you can get it heavily discounted. I bought all the Sims expansions when they came out, and now you can get them all in one box for a fraction of the cost. Am I complaining? Was it not inevitable?

(And to those people complaining that they are getting bent over paying for expansions for all 6 of their accounts, if you are stupid enough toown 6 frikken accounts then you are bending yourselves over!)

i have played alot of PC games and understand discounted prices over time but not a single game i can remember has ever offered a free expansion after it was released for less then a year. then calling ppl stupid for mutliple accounts is just wrong by any means.

i like to know where you got this info from cause as stated in 2 sites StarWarsGaxalies.com and IGN.com this is offered as a digitial download for ppl who want a headstart on exploring the new expansion. no where is it stated as a tempory download..

ppl this is a post about how SOE and Lucasarts is giving away a free expansion that ppl has already bought not even 5 months ago. yes i have play lots of onlines games and has never seen one give away a free expansion. yes i do relize that over time games become cheaper and cheaper but never free especially the expansion not even being a year old.So if you have comments on this issue please by all means post and hope we can get some info from SOE. but don't come in here saying how ppl are stupid for having multiple accounts or stupid for complaining. i would also like to state if you have other info please post the site where this can be found so other can see this and it is not here say.

The Digital Download gives you access to the Episode III expansion 3 weeks prior to when the retail box becomes available!

To me, this means that with your pre order of the retail box, you are allowed to download and use the new expansion until the retail box is available. You will need the cd key in the retail box if you wish to keep playing after that time.

The "for a two week preview" statement kind of sums this up for me.

The Digital download (including the JTL portion) is temporary. You will need the retail box and the key code that lies within for ROTW as well as the retail box and key code that lies within for JTL once the "preview" period is over.

give active JTL accounts a 10 dollars dicount on the download ONLY option and everyone'll be happy.

you still have to pay $25 because u need to pay for box,cd's, etc if u want it from the store.. u shouldnt pay for JTL again if u can purchase it again..this is bs.

You dont need to buy JTL again. If you already have it for your account you are set. Those who do not have it, need to buy it if they wish to play ROTW.

ok i will reword my statement.

1) yes the pre-order download includes a temporery code to allow ppl without JTL to play it and ROTW.

2) No the ROTW does not include JTL( you will need JTL to play ROTW)

3) the 24.95 you are paying foris the pre-order price of ROTW

4) all pre-orders will get the temp. dowload to play ROTW 2-3 weeks before SW3:ROTS and 3 weeks before the actual release of ROTW

and again like i stated before this info was give to me by CSR Jimmy G a big thank to him for getting me the correct info.

It's not your way of writing the statement that doesn't make sense. It's the statement itself.

1) What happens with players who have SWG but don't have JTL? According to the CSR's facts those players wouldn't be able to use any ROTW features unless they find a copy of JTL. Yet all JTL data is available on their HD. What happens to those people who have taken up shipwright or pilot skills? What happens to their ships & equiment? What happens if they log off on Kashyyyk?

2) If this is indeed a 'preview' untill you enter the code from the box then what happens if you never input that key? Actually, for those whoalready have JTL, why a second key anyway? Why a download AND a box with CD's?

3) Why does it say that JTL is included with your 'order of the digital download'. If indeed JTL were temporary than it is NOT included in the order, just in the download.

4) Why would they choose the term 'digital download' and NOT link it to the word 'preview'? Yes, the word preview does appear in the message but that is used as "view before anybody else" and not as what we consider to be a 'preview'.

If the CSR is indeed right than the info we are givenby LucasArts is totally different from what it's supposed to be.

I think what the csr meant was, They will give you a temp. key for JTL thats only good for a certain amount of time. You will still have to buy the retail version of JTL to play this expansion.

I think it means the following: To play RoTw you NEED to have JTL, and because of the free testing period, they are also giving JTL *DURING THE TESTING PERIOD* to play RoTw, after that JTL goes byebye if you hadnt bought it already...

I thnk that we wont be able to Shuttle to kashyyk and thats why we need JTL to buy rotw
