Combine this issue with the extreme animosity SWG has generated between players, and take into account the case recently in china where one boy actually murdered another boy over a MMORG dispute, and suddenly this situationis deadly serious.
This is not a joking matter.

In reply to some of the questions that were raised here, I think I can clarify:
First, yes, it was real mail. It was a post card from Sprint.
Iam sure that I have no spyware now, but I am not sure that I have NEVER had spyware since I started playing this character two years ago. I used AdAware for about a year until I switched to SpySweeper, which I run weekly. So it's unlikely, and even more unlikely that this name and not any of the half dozen others would have become associated with my address.
Iwould never give my personal information out to anyone I know online. I'm none too keen about answering ANY questions about my RL identityI receive from other players, and usually don't even give out the name of the city I live in.
I have Googled my character's name (Zaina Fazia), and only a handful of hits, all from this forum, came up. So the information does not likely exist in cyberspace.
From the response to my original post, I gather that no one else here has had the same experience. It makes the situation more puzzling, but at least it seems that there's no systematic violation of privacy going on, which wasmy primary concern.
As long as Zaina Fazia isn't required to registerwithimmigration (she's Zabrak)or file a tax return, I'm not too concerned. It will be interesting to see what else comes in her name.

Oh, for crying out loud. It was one incident involving one person. If the database was compromised don't you think it would be a little more widespread?

So far, I have made 385,000,000 of these offers. WHO HOO! However, they don't tell you that this is in SWG credits.
