He is making fun of the Nigerian Scam - very similar in style and content. I get these all the time and report them if I can glean the real email address from the message.
And he did a good job of it, too. Ahazi to Bria, indeed. /snort.
FWIW, the Nigerian scam predates the Web. I actually once received an international air mail letter that in form and much of the content was identical to the text that Iniaes quoted. I still don't know how they found or picked me, but I'm glad I had become sufficiently cynical and suspicious by then not to reply.
Trust no one! Keep your laser handy!

My wife put her car up for sale and got a response from a guy trying the same Nigerian scam.
We even got as far as receiving a cashier's check from the guy (from Nigeria!). We called the bank to verify the check and they said it was not a valid check.
So, we immediately stopped all communications with the guy (who was using one of those services for the deaf - where they type in something and the operator reads you what they typed.)
Anyway, I have heard of people who have actually gone and wired the scammer the money...at which point they are screwed.

The bottom line is: why would anybody with access to your full account info NOT use your real name. Even with only your home adress it has to be easier to find your real name then the name of one of your characters.

This might well be the scariest thing I've read in a long time -- not only are OUR HOME ADDRESSES attached to our account information but OUR CREDIT CARD INFORMATION is attached to this as well ...
SOE DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS NOW !!
If there were a break in to your records, you need to tell your customers ! -- This could be a potential for Identity Theft ....
I FOR ONE WANT AN ANSWER TO THIS

Actually, it's quite probable you will some day. My son and daughter get them all the time and they are both pre-school aged. My dog got a credit card offer several years ago. I almost responded with a paw-print stamp on the signature line.
Now, if a pre-schooler and a dog get them, it won't be long until your character gets one. I'll really begin to worry when I start getting the credit card offers via in-game e-mail
Absolutely. When I wasin my mid-20's, I came upon a youth survey website. And, you had to be under 18 to answer the surveys. I happened to be bored and curious so I just filled out an online form using the first name Morbidia. The rest of the information, including my last name and address was real. On the form I said that Morbidia was 16.
Over the last few years, I have moved probably 10 times and snail mail for Morbidia follows me everywhere I go. I have never once filled out change of address forms for Morbidia at the post office or for companies. Yet, somehow the mailing lists have associated Morbidia with me and tracked her down everywhere I went. What's even weirder is that the mail I receive for Morbidia is tracking her age. For example, 2 years after first getting mail for Morbidia, she would have reached the age of 18. At that point, I started getting solicitations for prom dresses and colleges. About a year after that, Morbidia started getting pre-approved Gold card applications and any kind of junk mail a real person might get. I have this feeling that when Morbidia turns 65 she'll start getting retirement information.
My experience with "Morbidia" is an extreme example. But, it happens all the time with names of pets and other characters. Basically the second you fill out any form, whatever name you may use has the possibility of getting snail mail. It's kinda funny actually. I bet if someone worked hard enough at it, they could eventually acquire enough paperwork throughout the years to convince the government the person actually exists and get a unique social security number. LOL
