Likewise, if a website emails you to log in and verify something, close the email and goto the actual site itself and check. Never goto a site thru an email. And never give information to anyone who calls you. Someone called me one time claiming to be from my bank and asked for my SSN so they could verify my account. I've had that account for about 10 years now, so I figure somewhere, they have my SSN written down. I hung up on them and called my banks 1-800 number and they didn't know anything about anyone calling me.

If it is too good to be true, it usually is. If you get pressured into giving away any information talk to your bank immediately and let them help you secure your funds. They take fraud very serious and don't want to see anyone lose money from these types of cases.
