As for the categories we decided to move away from them so not to limit ourselves in the future.
Actually, that sounds like a great reason. No categories= open ended choices. I like that approach, but I think that right now, it seems all the items are of the "for fun" category, so you really haven't branched out. Not a criticism, but a comment. I like the look of a lot of the new things. I'm not huge on the holograms, but other stuff is nice enough to get two of. But it would be cool to get some items that aren't just decorative. Things which make life eaiser, like a unique untradable house with a larger item limit, or never-decay swoops. Things that wouldn't make us more powerful than new toons, but that would make day-to-day ife easier.
Anyway, here's to hoping that the removal of categories will actually pan out in such a way that it doesn't limit you.
/agree
I would have love to seen a never pay maintenance kit for one house.

So, in other words, Tigs, veteran rewards aren't geared toward rewarding veterans at all. How fair is it that DAYS after releasing vet rewards you stick another option in? Those that have been here since Day 1 got shafted - how is this right?

We do care about our Veteran players which is why we wanted to add more rewards and offer more of a variety.

Tigs, I'm sorry, but I don't think that answers the question.
You want to offer "more variety" for UPCOMING veteran players, not those that are ALREADY veterans. Not those of us who have stayed with this game longer than you have even worked here.
By implementing a new 2-year reward DAYS after some of us got to select ours, we were directly shafted.
That's the point here. So, what happens when you guys go back and add cool rewards for, say, 2-years, and we are at 2.5/3 years. We LOOSE that choice. You have said several times "in 3 months you can just use your next one", which is pretty punishing to veteran players. We have to sacrifice our TRUE veteran rewards to go back and get lesser rewards just because the Devs are playing around with the system.
There was no variety in the gifts I had to choose from - I had to get a bunch of holograms because nothing else was available, yet if I didn't get them all I wouldn't have gotten my anniversary reward because of how the system was set up.
The simple answer is, you guys need to stop pretending these rewards are costing anything for SOE, and pony up some more choices for the true veteran players. I would have MUCH rather had a fireplace than some basketball on a stand.
I'm sorry, but I feel totally shafted on what happened last week. At the very least, TRUE veterans should have been given the option to trade in the basketball to get a fireplace, OR you should have just plain given us one. It wouldn't throw balance out of whack to give the few of us who have stuck by this game through hell and back to get two measley little decorations.
As to the larger issue, if you guys actually ever get variety/useful items besides holograms, we should be able to turn in our old crappy holograms to get the good stuff. WE DESERVE IT. I don't generally say something like that with such absolutes, but YES, we deserve it.
I know there is only a handful of true 2-year vets right now, but come on...get the Devs to throw us a frickin' bone.

Tiggs,
Not much to do about it now, but I think it was a very bad idea to have the Barc speeder a very valuable in the Total Experience pack which is more directed to new players (and most existing players would probably buy the digital expansion).
- It is worth several millions when trading. This means that the new player get instant rich if they sell it and this is lot different than starting the game with little money. A valuable aspect of the game is to collect money so you can afford all the good stuff.
- New players might not be aware how valuable the BARC is and might get fooled to sell it much cheaper than it is worth. Or maybe not understanding that it can't be replaced.
- The Varactyl is more appropropriate gift for new players IMO
Yes, you can buy the rewards on trade forums, but no way that the Varactyl is anythign near Barc in value.

Tiggs, could you please look into why the Vet Rewards block us from taking our 2 Year Anniversary?
I'd rather pick up my anniversary gift now (We only have a small window to receive those) and choose my vet rewards after I figure out which character is getting what/what the rewards are/ where I'm going to fit all this extra inventoryetc.
Seriously, it would be great if the anniversary reward and the BARC Speeder claiming commands were seperate commands to the vet rewards.
At least if there was a way to choose those other rewards before choosing the vet rewards... I (and some other people) would be very happy.

May the force be with you.
I will ask around the offfice about this tomorrow.
Any findings around the office today, Tiggs?
Try whacking a few people in the back of the head with a toy lightsaber... that generally gets some attention... plus if they have a lightsaber as well, you can have a duel while you discuss the topics of your inquiries.
Anyhoo... just prodding to make sure you didn't forget... and making sure I don't forget to check back about this as well.
May the force be with you.

Nothing to report on this yet, sorry.
My only issue with this is the Sorosub. It is not a reward, I paid real money to acquire it, but I cannot use what I have paid money for without claiming some awards I do not wish to at this time. Why am prevented from using something I paid money to acquire without going through another process that uses up potential rewards I do not wish to access at this time?

Okay, thanks for keeping us updated though... just don't completely forget about us!
BTW are you headed to Jersey again for your vacation, or are you going somewhere else this time?
If you are... you'll be around for my birthday... in which case you may hear a loud ruckuss (Could you describe the ruckuss, Sir?).
Also, If you're near NY City on Saturday Night... come along and catch a digital showing of Episode III at the AMC Empire 25 Theater.
I figure it's time for me to catch one last show!
(Oh... I'm not asking you out on a date
Okay... sleep deprevation kicking in... time for me to click "Submit".

The SoroSub IS a vet reward. You do not get the SoroSub until your account is at 6 months, and have JTL installed. The SoroSub is simply a bonus vet reward for those who have reached the 6 month milestone, and installed JTL.
The only way you could have paid real money for the Sorosub would be to purchase an account on Ebay that is at least 6 months old and has JTL installed.
