Thread: Character Transfer to All Access subscription concerns
I would also like to know why they can't remove FS or just transfer FS chars... Sorry for placing this here...just no where else to turn...oh and again....GOOD LUCK!
Hey... how about Jedi being able to transfer too? (sure would be nice) or maybe letting us know that last year when they said "someday" they meant "no one is working on it"
Please let us know if or when a Jedi can use this service. Please and Thank you. My gameplay on my current server is dead, a change would help...
Due to financial constraints its now a simple decision for me to make I suppose :- if they are able to convert my accounts as theystand in order to add them to my All Access subscriptions then I can continue playing SWG which means buying 2 sets of JTL and ROTW and most likely all future expansions OR I have to suspend the accounts again and go play EQ/EQ2.
If the facility for naming our SWG accounts the same as EQ ones did not exist at SWG launch and they subsequently enable SWG for the All Access then surely they are obliged to facilitate some kind of renaming to allow us to consolidate our accounts. It makes business sense to me - allow us to keep the game active and we buy expansions.
I have never really understood why it was such a technical problem for them to do this - just create (activate on All Access)a new account with identical access/expansions/features such as collectors edition etc and modify the account date to be the same as when the customer joined SWG - then copy across ALL account details and delete the old one. Is this really so complex? I dont like flaming SOE all the time as generally I really enjoy their games and the efforts over time they take to develop and balance their games, but more and more we're reading stories/issues on the boards where it is the long term loyal SOE that is being impacted and there are too many cut and paste answers to issues in respect of strict and inflexible customer service policies rather than being flexible and using common sense to do whats best for the customer.
I know at the end of the day we all have a choice whether to pay and play or just leave but I really dont want to be put in that position after investing so much time and effort into my characters. I am ever hopeful of a positive outcome and will wait to see what response I do get. In the meantime I have stopped all xp grinding through my FS branches and will just go chill out in RL and wait for a response ![]()

Here is what I have been going thru lately.
I started playing SWG over a year ago. Lets call my first account I got account1 seems simple. Well after playing for a month I decided that I wanted to have one deticated crafter account and one deticated fighter account so I go ahead and start account2. I go on happly playing swg for 10 and then I get an EQ2 bug and decide I would like to play that also. So I turn account1 into my all access pass purchase EQ2 and go along on my merry way. Then blaaamooo the CU hits.
When the CU comes out I hate it. Thats all I am going to say about that. So I decide I am canceling everything. So thats what I do I cancel account1 and account2.
By the time I had quit account1 had become my Master Doc and account2 was a jedi. So when I decided that I wanted to start playing again of course I was going to pick the jedi account to reopen. I just didn't need account1 anymore because I already had a alt from unlocking jedi and docs aren't nearly has needed after the CU. Well durning my 2 weeks off I had been keeping up on the EQ2 boards and decided I wanted to play that again to. So when I reactivated my account2 I made it an all access pass. I thought since account1 was canceled I would just have to put in my CD key to register my EQ2 game with my new access pass. I was wrong of course.
So here starts my customer service adventure. I decide that my problem is a little complicated so a phone call would probably be my best bet. I call the support center. So Iexplain to them that all I want is my EQ2 game from account1 moved to account2. I thought it seemed simple enough but I was wrong
When I get on the phone with someone they tell me that what I want is impossible. So I am bummed that I am going to have to waste money buying a whole new EQ2 game. I just couldn't figure out why this problem was so hard to handle. I explained that they could earse my old EQ2 char since I was going to start a new one. All I wanted was to beable to play without buying the game again. Still I recieve the reply that this is not possilbe. So I ended the conversation and decided that I was not done.
So I decide I wanted to try another person. So I do the live chat thing. I explain my problem to the live chat CS person and I get a complete diffrent answer. He tells me that they are working on the service to do exactly what it is I want done and that it should be done within the next couple of days. He told me to watch the SOE website for announcment of this happening. So I was pleased thanked the man and begin once a day to check the SOE website. So a week goes by and nothing. So I thought that maybe with all the E3 annoucements and other stuff that something this minor just didn't make the website when it was done so I move onto email.
So my first email goes off. I explain in detail that ALL I WANT is my EQ2 account transfered from account1 to account2. Simple. The reply - "I am sorry you can't have more then one swg account on an all access pass". I reply in DETAIL that I don't want my old swg transfered. They can delete it. Keep it for themselves and give away my stuff. I don't care. I will come to the office and eat my old game and the cd key right infront of them. ALL I WANT is my EQ2 game that I bought playable on my new account. I go into extreame detail explaining why I am doing this. The next reply I get is - "Sir I don't understand what you want us to do" and below that are all the games I had on my old access pass or account1 with little boxes beside them. He told me to place an x in the boxes of the games I want transfered. Ok so I figure this guy is a visual man he needs the X to understand. No problem I X that baby up like no tomarrow and send that bad boy out thinking YAY mission accomplished. I receivce this email back.

We are currently working on a service to assist customers with consolidating
their EQI, EQII, PS and SWG accounts. We hope to finalize the service in the
immediate future, but unfortunately we do not have an exact ETA at this time. I
apologize for any inconvenience.
So I am satifeid. I think ok I just have to sit back for a few days and wait till they are done with this service. I mean how hard can it be. It's not like making a new MMO or nothing they just have to transfer a CD key from one account to another. It has been almost a month now since I recieved this email. I sent an email about a week ago asking if there was any update on this. I got a one word replay "nope". Tiggs or TH if either of you have any idea when this service might get working would be nice to here. Well thats my story.

Well I have been going through the same thing and series of lies since Feb.
You will never get anywhere with CS.
My acocunts are not fixed but I have recieved some compensation.
L. Tuttle is the person in charge of CS at SOE.
You can also get contact numbers for the main office through the BBB and bypass teh CS garbage completely.

A lot of people run down the Devs and people involved with SWG. They take a huge amount of crap.
Tiggs is the only person who has replied that I have seen, and I have been, as I said, dealing with this crap since Feb.
I have made posts on the EQ and EQ2 forums, send PMs to Blackguard and Moorguard (both of which I know have been read and ignored thanks to the tracking system), and it wasn't until I started calling the main office that I recieved any progress, response, or information whatsoever. My problem was, although not completely, temporaraly resolved 3 days after I started calling.
Thank you Tiggs for working with us, I know you don't handle things like this but your willingness to take the time to forward our concerns is noted when we aren't busy calling you names for evil nerfs and bans
The only thing the other forum mods have over you is Faarbot's custom censors. If you made some good ones you would be the undisputed ruler!!! I suggest proclamations of love for Lucas and Jar Jar for most of the profanities. It would make many people be much more creative in writing.
