Thread: New CU Doc Up (With New Commando Pre-Reqs)

Exactly what I'm worried about. If this is going to happen, I would like to see both Flame Single 2 and Flame Cone 2 given at Master Commando and Flame Cone 1 at 0/0/3/0 and Flame Single 1 given at 0/0/4/0.
I know you can't please all the people all the time, but, I think, being a staunch Master Commando, we need to be set apart from the FT toating dabblers.
Go play WOW then. Speaking about 'magic'. What about jedi using force powers? That's like magic. Got a problem with that too?Go to the Jedi forums andcomplain about that. Better yet, why don't you shut off your computer and go picket in front of Sony's HQ if you dislike the changes so much. These changes will go into effect in 45 days or so. Sotake the time to figure out if you're staying and dealing with it orleaving. It would be a shame to see you go since you're such a detriment to this game.

Well guys welcome to EQ2. Welcome to the world of magic healing (ie with out medicine).
Guys, you can now see why i have been not too happy about the changes. If i wanted to play a game with magic, i would be playing WOW. There was a 400+ thread against the med changes and the devs continue to keep on with the idea.
IF a 400 post thread doesn't convince the devs that they should change thier ideas, what shot do we have getting things changed when/if we don't like something?

HOLY F*CKING GOD, WE ARE GONNA BEGIN A JEDI KILLING SPREE LIKE YOU WOULD NOT BELIEVE WHEN THIS IS ON LIVE!!!!!!!
Keep dreaming, Shatner.
Psssst, this information is still under NDA. What are you trying to do, ruin my surprise for the BHs? You don't see me talking about Commando _________s and _________s prematurely.

In regards to BH and Commando and misc:
- BH will be very powerful Post-CU. Know how TKM templates now can pretty much wipe out some jedi? Yeah well, post-CU a BH ranged template will be just about the same... (In a one on one fight)
We will never see an end to people "using" our profession...the game in built on "dabbling"...the difference is, and you'll see this when the commando specifics doc get's posted, dabblers won't be very good with our weapons, or at least as good as non-dabblers, unless they proceed farther then having just one tree...think about it...how can you prevent someone who takes one treefrom being as good with that weapon as someone who takes two trees...how do you prevent someone who takes two trees from being as good a Commando as someone who takes three trees? and so on and so on...well, if you figured it out, it's happening...

Really? Then please point out to me where it says LS resists will be in the system.
The end of the Jedi's pvp reign is upon us.

So, if you reached your max of 250 sp in combat...you get the 3k HAM. If you reached your max due to a combat template choice, and its all combat, and only hits lets say 245 or 249 skill points, you get the 3k HAM.
Question regarding Health and SP investment (and since Tanks is here, maybe he'll give some insight):
Bounty Hunter pre-reqs include non-combat skills, Scout Exploration 4. So theoretically, a BH will not be able to invest all 250 SP into skills that are strictly combat.
If a BH can't put all 250 SP into combat skills, will they still be able to get 3K health?

People will always dabble Commando...but if you figured it out, they WON'T be as good as a Master Commando...
Well, maybe it's a little bit insecure of me to bring up such things, after all the "profession defending" we've had to do in the past, I think it's just a reaction..........call me fickle![]()
I just want to be recognized as a MC, not a FT wielding dabbler, call it pride in my profession. I know that FT's will not only be our main weapon and we'll have more to play with, but, it is what identifies us ATM and the majority of the player base will see a guy with a FT and go "Look a Commando...lol" (It's happened to me a few times).
Anyway, let me just say..........
We would have to be the luckiest Goddamn profession, with the most promising future......why?........
...............We have Starnick andGarvinon our side......enough said!
Oh actually it's not enough said, sorry, we have everyone who contributes on this forum too, from.......wait, I'm not going to list people because I might miss someone and you all have made this pixel generated experience more than "Just a game" for me, it's a release from reality![]()

Is it just me or is anyone else laughing their butts off at all these peeps on the CU Update thread whining about having swords pre-reqs for TKM, etc....

Haven't we been arguing this for a long time and no one seemed to care until now?
This just made my day! Let em WHINE!!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA
COMMANDOS RULE!!!! JEDI, TKMs, Riflemen, WATCH YOUR BUTTS!!!!!
*chuckle* Well, not really whining here...I would like to know the reason behind it--2H for an unarmed class seems silly, wanna make something appropriate, 1h seems better. But that's just me.
I do want to know if my present template of TKM/Master Commando will be possible
Hm. Started to say that I was a little perturbed at having ground up to Master Marksman to get to Commando before this change...but on second thought, no I'm not. It gave me valuable experience as a player, showed me what different weapons could do...I'm kewl with it.

Guys, this is the future technology. How would you know if healing is magical or just pure technology that is to advanced in your eyes to seem concievable. The CM ranged heal might be a little ball thingy that sprays down a dose of healing spray that contains little machines that heal your wounds. Thats what all i have to say.
I agree...but to see things from aeuralis side (and the side of other's who feel the same), one thing that SWG did different then other games is not have as many instant inherient abilities that other games use that they call "magic"...Giving healers "specials" that can heal will take a lot of getting use to, and if the Devs set it up wrong, it will have a "magic" ability which is anti what many in the healer community want and liked about SWG's healing set up.
The key thing, in my opinion, is that we need to "Unlearn what we have learned" when it comes to SWG...AND...if this CU is going to work, we HAVE TO give the devs a chance to convince us...We CAN'T shot down an idea that we've only read about. I for one want to SEE it before I decide it's crap. For all we know, aeuralis and others who feel the same way are 100% right and the new healing thing will suck, but that's a bridge we can cross later...if we cross it now and demand change, we risk delaying the CU even further while the devs make More changes (the recent delays have been because the devs have been making further changes and second guessing themselves)...
And that's all I'm going to say on the topic of magical healing...this is, after all, a Commando forum...who cares how we get healed as long as we get more time on the field to blow s@@t up! And on that point...remember also that you've only seen about a 3rd of what is coming...the most important things to be watching for in the next set of docs is:
1) How Specials/Abilities will work
2) What we get from our pre-reqs combined with what "pre-reqs" we might want to add ourselves to get more
3) The Death system (notice we've only heard about incapp'ing)
4) Obviously the specifics of our own Commando Profession
5) How "Range" will work
6) What each profession will "specialize" in and how combining that with commando will work for us strategically
7) How we will work differently then any other profession (this will come off as good and bad...but will definitely need to be seen before ruled on).
There are many more things, but that's enough to think about for now...regarding #7...that's the issue I've mentioned in the past that our Sandbox team has been concerned about...the news will come out soon and many people will want to rant before fully understanding the reasons...when you take a step back, you can see where the Devs are attempting to take us...it's another "we will need to see it before we can really judge it"...If we hate it, I have full faith in Starnick that we'll get things changed (we've made it clear to the Devs to be ready with fixes if needed)...But for all we know, when we do see it, we may LOVE it...Sorry to be so cryptic, but I have a feeling that things are about to get a bit more "exciting" in hereover the next few weeksdepending on what they share and I hope, for the most part, we can discuss the changes with open minds...The more we calmly discuss the changes, the more comfortable the Devs will be sharing more with us.
