We wanted to stand out in the Cu guys well we are now. We are the ONLY combat class that gets 0 weapon certs, 0 specials and 0 counter moves!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Woot woot everybody will be standing in line to add commando to their template now.
DID YOU PEOPLE THINK BEFORE YOU DID THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm so peaved i can hit cancel right now. I just cancel preoder on both my accounts as who knows what tomorrow will bring.
Did it occur to you that they may be rearranging where the certs go?? Being that "ICONIC" and Proffession defining wpns are tied to a skill box?? Stop panicing and read what is being said here. Its like damn chicken little and the sky is bloody well falling. NOTHING here is set in stone, so calm down take a deep breath and come back in the morning to see what's new.

They may be the case but it does show that they dont really think things through all that well and or unable/unwillingto simply state their intent.
I really disliked what they were doing with certs before, I felt it was too restrictive.
I like this idea, i just think it will take a little bit of balancing and tweaking to find something that works well, but offers freedom.
The way I see it... it can allow a Non-Master/Advanced character of a couple of different Elite professions to have the wide selection of weapons within their field(s) that a Master would have. I really like that, because the skill box system is great for mixing and matching different professions... not forcing cookie-cutter professions(Classes), but allowing uniquely templated characters.
We'll just have to see, but this is the first thing I have liked in the CU for a long while.
The respec stuff...
yikes, I really hope they haven't settled on a respec system yet...
and I hope they come up with a system that just lets us that have full skill sets to get a new full skill sets and screw the limitations (Besides BH Investigation and Jedi).
I REALLY think profession mastery badges should come into play...
If I have mastered smuggler before, they should let me respec to a Master Smuggler, regardless of my current skills.
I would REALLY like to see that.

However, he will shoot it slower and less accurately than you do. Also, while leveling Rifle I-IV he would be fighting level 54 mobs in order to get any experience. I think you would level much faster.

...however it makes no sense for someone with absolutely no rifle xp to be able to pick up a weapon that I use at novice rifle and use it to level Rifle I-IV in marksman. This system is worse than the problem you were trying to fix.

Thats not the point.
The point is we have completely lost any identity.
We are now the (other) profession upgrade profession...
- Need more speed? Try Commando
- Need more defenses? Try Commando
- Need more accuracy? Try Commando
- Need a different weapon? Go by your local WS, and pick one up. You dont even need a cert for it as long as you have a high enough CL! woOT!

Helios if you're still out there...even if issues are hammered out, and this new system doesn't see much promise. Is there a "Plan-B" to help alleviate the problem of masters trying to level up in another disclipline?

OR Try BH. That has not changed regardless of the Weapon certs.
In order to be competitive people will want the weapon with the highest DPS. That is the Master level weapon. Also, as I said before if you do not have the profession skill mods that weapon is only good for leveling, which is the devs intent. Go ahead and run the numbers and you will see that just picking up a weapon is not going to help you with the end game unless you have the mods. And, again you need the master level weapons for the end game.

1) I dont care about BH. I care about Commando. Feed that line to someone else. You guys KEPT your weapon certificates (I could be wrong, as I said - I DONT CARE ABOUT BH)
2) If you want X profession master level weapon THEN GO SPEND THE SKILL POINTS TO GET IT.
3) THAT IS NOT THE POINT
4) See number 2
