Commando certs should be the only ones that get certed by skill boxes. because if this is the case and stays in game...i wanna be able pick up a lightsaber as master Commando and start swinging that around....

oh i see, wait until everything is tested fully and finalized, then released to live. after that THEN we can complain about it and hope they will change it?

Sure CURB 2.0 coming in 9 years after only 1 weekand a half of thoughtful development and rushed to live in time for Star Wars Episode 9 Return of the Aveneged Sith Grinders.

A new system will be brought in making weapons certed by level rather than proffession.Weapon certs can now be tied to a combat level + a specific skill box + a specific raceSo, all three of these scenarios could happen:1. Weapon is certed to anyone with a combat level of at least X2. Weapon is certed to anyone with a combat level of at least X AND have achieved Skill Box N3. Weapon is certed to anyone with a combat level of at least X AND have achieved Skill Box N AND is of race K.Most weapons currently fall into "1", some fall into "2" (mostly iconic and profression defining weapons) and very few (currently only bowcasters) fall into "3".
Those last two read like you could gain a skillbox and yet still not have enough of a Combat level to use the weapon? That doesn't sound right at all. Do you mean to have an OR there instead of an AND? like Novice TK or CL50 to use a VK? or are there cases where a skill box has a cert but the CL via the shortest patch will still not be enough to use a weapon?

The more I think of this the more I believe we are being "played'. They've implemented this plan in the worse way possible. No certificates for any Professions. Now they'll give us back the certificates for certain weapons and keep others opened for any Profession. We'll be happy to get back some of whats been taken away and notrealise what we lost.
True that, its like that mental condition some people get after being kidnapped/tortured for a long time. They begin to love their torturers for the little things they are allowing them after having everything striped away. Even going as far as to think the small crappy portions they are given is generous and not what they deserve.
step 1- Promise the world
Step 2- take away everything they allready have.
step 3- give back less then half of it, break a major portion of it, and let them think they actually have been given the world.

If other people can use the proton rifleand it is not listed as one of those quest/loot non dabble certs.... The same had better apply to the proton carbine. (still rather have it anyways

And DE-10 etc.

I have a feeling Proton Carbine and Rifle and DE-10 are going to stay with the skill boxes.
When I read that Novice boxes would be tradeable only for Novice boxes, I was surptised. It should be obvious, at least to Thunderheart, if no other dev have a one, that Commandos will get shafted if some deference isn't paid to the fact that they are required to hold Master Marksman and because we are forced to dump points into more than one Novice profession as a skill point sink (for those of in staying Commando, the latter is not such a problem, as we'll still be in the same sink after the respec, but for people who no longer care for it, it is an issue).
My hope is that none of the devs have their minds set on any specific respec system at this stage if it includes that sort of one for one mechanic. That said, it also seems obvious to me that they simply cannot have a system where a tier 1 Novice skill box can be freely traded for a tier 4 elite skill box...or else they are just inviting people to grind out lower level skills in the next few weeks.
My hope is that their ultimate system has a more dynamic means of recognizing what a legitimately "finished" template is than a simple "Novice box for novice box/elite for elite" can.
Possibly, since the hybrid professions--Commandos, BH's and Squad Leaders and to a lesser extent Smugglers--are the only professions for which a box for box tradeoff is really adversely affected, their system could just make an exception for templates that presently have all or some of these professions skills mastered. Then if you are in one of those four professions, the respec needs to handle you separately. For people with only elite skills (or only with Novice skills) the box for box system should work reasonably fairly.
All of that is not to even deal with those templates that have an odd number of skill points remaining after they complete their grinding (like Master Commando/Master Fencer, which has 4 skill points unspendable).
Edit: I forgot about Doctors and Combat medics. They also spend a lot of "excess" points on Novice medic skills, so have a similar problem to Commando and BH.
