I just dueled a Commando, and the flamethrower worked well, he almost won, but I was using my TK, not BH. When I wanted to lose by buffs to get better ones, a commando also dueled me. This time he got a burn DoT, and it got my health 2000 to around 100 all because of wounds.
And I fought a BH also, (getting PvP experience for hunting Jedi) and he used a torso shot on me and landed a burn DoT on me. I was incapped, got up, immediately, fell incapped again, and when I got up, I ran around cnet looking for a heal untill the burn DoT was gone. That burn DoT is so fun.

I am a Master Commando....been one since I started. Take my advice PLEASE! Commando is very broken. Alot of skill points to use one weapon that is almost nerfed into a lighter. Commando would be better named as "Firebat". BH from what I can tell is a hard grind but worth it. I don't want to dissuad anyone from the Commando Profession but I will give you a fair warning. Commando is not worthless by any stretch, but we get owned by just about everyone.

Most or all commandos say that the flamethrower is really the only good thing about commando, that everything else misses too much.

As a former master commando, I'd have to agree with this.
I'm working my way up BH now, and I'm still using the FT as much as I can, but now that I've got lightening single 2 I'm going to play with that more.
The HAR is good for one thing: acid vulnerable mobs. They come in very handy in peko peko alb hunts, but for all around utility, the FT is where it's at. Even against heat resistant mobs, the FT using flamesingle 2 does so much damage that it's the weapon of choice. I have gotten 14k hits with flamesingle2.

heres the deal Bh bugged, commando bugged. chances are bh would be the way to go since commandos suck at pvp and have a lot of broken weapons and no supporting classess. Bh on the other had you can take pistoleer or carbineer or ranger to help you with any of the stuff you have in bh so go bh. but when the CR comes commandos are gonna burn you all heheh

BH has strong specials, with Carbines, they have KD, Dizzy, and Stun moves, with Pistols, they have a mind attack and burn DoT, and the LLC is strong.

Another thing you might want to consider, BH will probably take you a long time to reach Master. Commando? I'v had many guildiesMaster it in less than 3 days.

It's doable in 9 hours or less.

Bounty Hunters can hunt Jedi. If you have Pistoleer and Smuggler skills you can be pretty fearsome.

Yep. Great template. If I were a Jedi and fought a Pistoleer/BH/Smuggler, I would get aggrivated when he feign death. Not to say I wouldn't do it myself.

A question:
Between Bounty Hunter and Commando, which do people think is more fun, and why?
I'm not interested in the upper level content (yet). I have enjoyed various social professions (crafting, politician) and I fancy a change. I am currently working my way through Marksman at my own pace exploring the different missions available at different levels across the various planets.
I. Won't. Grind.
My thoughts at the moment lean towards BH, as there is the content of the Investigation tree, and eventually hunting Jedi (money and XP aren'tthe only rewards I am interested in).
Eventually I'll do both. Eventually.
