Ok, everyone is going to hate me for the last part.....
1. As stated, move the FT and HAR into the same tree.
2. I like the idea of the grenade launcher. However, here are some changes. the weapon is useless by itself. WS will be able to make "clips" of grenades, either 25 or 50 in a stack. The damage done is whatever the grenade is made to do. The speed is whatever the grenade is made to be, plus a 1 or 2 second delay for loading. The range should be about 40 meters. The ham costs are the same as the grenades, plus 15 10 10.
3. Maybe give the LP a few attacks. Since I dabble in pistoleer, I really don't see the need for secials...sorry.....![]()
4. Fix the accuracy and speeds of the HW in the HW tree. Also, as with the grenade launcher idea, make the HW require "clips" RL's would need stacks or rockets, and the beam weapons would need batteries.
5. Ok, if we want a new gun, here is my idea.....
No, we should NOT get cold or stun damage. That is just asking for a nerf. We also should not be asking for an ap 3 weapon, as it will never happen. Here is my idea.
If we recieve a heavy repeater rifle/carbine, I think that the following mods would be appropriate:
Damage: Energy
ap: 1 or 2 (depends on the rest of the criteria)
speed: 2.5 (if at ap 1) or4 (if at ap 2)
damage: 130 - 250 (if ap 1) or 180 - 300 (if ap 2)
ham costs: 45 25 25
Range mods: -20 @ 0, +15 @ 30, -5 @ 64 (once again, rough numbers)
Specials: blinding shot. Shoots the ground in front of the target, spraying dirt into their eyes.
Repeater fire: Fire 3 or 4 shots in succession with a high chance of a hit, at the cost of double ham and double timer.
Personally, I would like to see a weapon like the M4. (Think of the guns from GI JOE. Hey, I am a child of the 80's, ok?
)
Damage: energy
ap: 1
speed: 2.5 (would hit the cap at master)
Damage: 170 - 240
Ham costs: 35 20 20
Range: -20 @ 0, + 20 @ 35, + 0 @ 64
Specials: Blinding shot. Same as above.
Leg wound: same effect as the phenacine dart trap. Reduces the targets speed by 15% for 30 seconds. Has a 1 minute timer.
These are just some basic ideas.
Now, here are my reasons for the above.
1. We are designed as a support class. Our weapons should not be "ultra uber PvP weapons". they are large and slow, in order to handle the amount of force needed to control and harness the energy of their ordnance.
2. Between our HW and te weapons from marksman, we have access to every type of damage except restraint. (even the sg82 and cryoban grenades for cold.

I think that is what they envisioned when they created the concept for the HAR.

Keep the ideas flowing, this is just an initial set to see all aspects of where we can go, and then whittle it down later based on possible, maybe, never could happen ![]()

Ok, meaning no disrespect to all o fthe ideas here, but I am seeinga trend. Almost all of the ideas, mine included, make the proposed commando weapon so powerful that it owuld never happen. I mean a gun with 300 -500 damage at 2.5 seconds? With ap 3?
When we think up the ideas for these weapons, we need to keep that hated word...."balance"...in mind. If the weapon is too powerful, then the idea won't even be considered. I would suggest making the stat on your proposed weapon a little weaker. We can always tweak the idea later. Right now, we should just agree on a standard idea.
Also, damage types. We sould NOT get a cold or stun type gun. That would be too rare, and it wouldn't even get a chance at being made.
