thus I can opt to use the loot gun, or have a weaponsmith use my lootgun to build me a new one, like I want it...
The same goes for armor and clothes...Oh wait, new armor aint in the plans, nor clothes..but it would be cool if I could hand in the mabari helmet there and have it reverse engineered into a scout trooper helmet, or that suit reverse engineered into a TIE Pilot suit....
But alas, loot it is, or some stoopid cube we have to fill.
Fun part, is we'll all end up with the same weapons..the one loot weapon that does the most damage..and we'll all be carbon copies.
I agree with the first part, crafters should be much more involved with this sort of item and rewards in general. RE'ing weapons and armor is something I've long thought was a good idea, starting back when I was a weaponsmith looking at looted pikes I had no way of matching by crafting.
But on the carbon copy item, this is different from the way things are now how? How many commandos are running around with something other than a PFT as their primary weapon? At least this time around, they made sure random loot items won't hang around taking up server space like the previous things they've tried, since there are so many combinations, and so many things people are going to want. If there is one small bright spot in this method, that'd be it IMO.
Most commandos run around with the Proton rifle, wich is a loot weapon that has so little disparity in stats, it's almost a carbon copy. ToOW will add to this, by the weapons dropping will give us a weapon that would be stronger than the PFT, with just as little disparity in stats.
So we'll be carbon copies in look and stats. The only difference is the color armor we have...
Re engineering of loot weapons could if done properly open up for more disparity in what we use.
Ofcourse, if you ask me, I'd like weaponcrafting to be like Armorcrafting. Altho, working the oposite way, by the core being the visual frame, and the "frame" being the stats. So you could pick the DL-17 core, and add the frame that makes it a CL 54, Master Carbineer weapon, with the stats to come from it. Altho, it would need some categories, so that a RocketLauncher didnt act like a flamer.
I know I wouldnt run around with all the butt ugly weapons that are CL54then, but rather have custom made weapons to fit my characters look.

The new flamer is a cube loot, and the lava cannon has been reportedly spotted in one of the dungeons. Suppousedly of all the new weapon models, there are schematics too...but that depends on your definition of new models...
Does cube loot mean you stick some stuff in a cube and some other stuff comes out?
If you ever played Diablo 2, then this is SOE's version of the horadric cube.
Never played it.

Yeah, those are pretty cool stats for sure....but did they have to use an idea like "lava" canon? Did you notice the BH rifle? I like that one too, being a BH also...I wonder if these will be uber hard to get weapons like the necrosis weapons unless yuo go with a huge party? Whatdya think they'll sell. For cryng out loud, necrosis and enhanced weapns are priced at 10 MILLION CREDITS now. My god, what kind of a moron would pay that price? Will these go for 20 mil?! Geeze.
A proton rifle is 250-400mil on Kettemoor

seriously? cos thats insane... ive been down there with one jedi and myself, killed necro and beenracing back down to himin like 20-30mins... granted we run past everything else but personally i think thats quick, and when that jedi disappeared, i found another who did it just as well... May not always be a proton rifle loot but still, its not hard, either kettemoor is suffering from extreme hyperinflation or everyone on there is lazy and rich (no offense

Necrosis loot is cheap on Flurry. I bought a proton rifle with 1034 max damage and 119 SAC for 1 million. There is also about 6 more all under 2 million right now. I might pick these up just to have back ups.
Grabbed a PR on eclipse for 1.3 mill and another with similar stats on Flurry for 1.1 Mill. Don't see how they could cost 250 mill, thats insane.

watch the galaxy trade forums.. seems the average price for Proton Rifle = 2million..
2 days ago i saw a 2mill on the vendor search too..
I counted the zeros 250000000 - 400000000
i don' t doubt you did see them for that much, i have seen some for 999,999,999 on vendors also.. but what i'm saying is the price for a proton rifle, for someone who watches the prices, is about 2,000,000
