I counted the zeros 250000000 - 400000000

i looted a lava cannon from one of the bosses in the hk-47 quest line in live , heres the stats

devastator lava cannon

Mcommando cert/lvl 55

speed 2.95 ---- damage 590-1179 heat elemental 128 ---75% splash damage ---- 343 base dps ----108 sac

no pups or slices allowed and its bio linkable

Most commandos run around with the Proton rifle, wich is a loot weapon that has so little disparity in stats, it's almost a carbon copy.

It depends honestly, if you dont have a krayted PFT then a proton rifle would be your primary without a doubt; but if you're able to even get a hold of a PR, it would make sense you would have access to such enhancements.

At any rate, since it is possible to get a flamer with better stats than a proton rifle our flamethrower will still be king for damage, in regards to short-range. Now that can change with the two new ToW weapons as they might be more damaging and within range (the republic flamer) or extend our damage possibilities to a medium range (lava cannon, 36 m). But im thinking the PFT will still dominant short ranged, while the proton rifle for long ranged.

But Ill say this, if a commando exclusively uses his proton rifle because he can use it at any range and still produce a nice power effect, he's not using his commando abilities to his fullest. Not saying he would be a bad commando, but theres a lot of potential to be unleashed if you can use most of our weapons proficiently and wisely.

i don' t doubt you did see them for that much, i have seen some for 999,999,999 on vendors also.. but what i'm saying is the price for a proton rifle, for someone who watches the prices, is about 2,000,000
