Thread: Dev communication... why aren't we here?
If you understand this... why wait as long as you say it'll take....
Thank you for taking the time to post this, as it was not something you needed to do. With that said, it is difficult for us at present for us to use our Correspondent effectively since he is still learning the ropes in essence, and he is currently on vaction (not a knock on him, just the facts), which probably contributed to recent events. I only hope that you please be aware that he is learning and try and help him get up to speed with the more senior correspondents. Thanks again.

Look, we are not trying to nerf your profession to hell. We don't think you are the uber profession. We know that your other weapons need to be made more useful. We know that you would like some answers to your questions.
We have a TON of things on our plate. Publish themes. Dungeons. Major system overhauls. CS Issues. QA Issues. Correspondent issues...
Thirty three professions, and some are broke all to hell. We want to fix them. All of them. But it takes time.
We really don;t have the bandwidth to be here on the boards, track down answers, and post them to everyone. We simply would never get ANYTHING done. But communication is necessary, and good... so we are trying to focus it where we can. Right now this is aimed squarely at the Droid Engineers. And even they would like more. We just can't do it. But we lurk like crazy. We do read what is going on, and understand how you feel. I really wish we had the time to communicate with everyone. But we do not.
I love commandos... I ground my way up to Master the old-fashioned way on Ahazi, and play one to this day. I cried when we nerf'ed the DOT's, but I think it was right for the game.
I ask for your patience. When will we get around to answering the questions? I honestly can't say for sure. I am sorry. But we are listening. Your correspondent is the numberone way into our plans.Thanks.

That's what proves the Dev's can listen to what we have to say...and JustG just proved he is hearing us by restating what we've been saying to them over and over...
That was by a team of 2 people. In fact their nerfing erm fixing continues today.
I find it hard to believe for 15 dollars per month from over 300,000 people you do not have the resources to get these things fixed in a timely manner at all. Nor have you even put out when or if they'll be fixed just a vauge we know what's broken. It is my opinion that either you guys do not care or are just so out of touch with the professions you're messing with you cant get things done. I'm not even sure to blame dev's or management but I do know either things get fixed or I'll do what I did back in July when many of us realized the game was broken, leave.
The clock is ticking. World of Warcraft ya know can be much more interesting and frankly I'd rather play a MMO that works vs one that is not getting fixed.
Dev's need to take note. SOE Is not the only MMO house out there that has of late screwed players with a year of beta quality game play. And once the toll of saturation falls in you may just see games that dont pick up in numbers until long after release as players wait out for you guys to fix the problems your marketing departments cared less about than just getting the game out the door. Blizzard hopefully has not gone down this path and in over 9 years I dont think they have so I hope they dont use you guys as a example.

That was the most direct, honest, and perhaps even respectful post I've seen from a dev concerning this profession yet. This is all any broken profession wants, to be acknowledged. I have a feeling this one small post will do more than you think in repairing communication between this class and the devs.
to JustG /bow respectfully

justg, please consider not doing any NERF to ANY proffession until you guys can actually FIX the entire proffession. Just like what you are doing to DE's right now. They are completely broken, you are fixing them in one swoop. please do that with commando as well. But PLEASE dont screw up a proffession that is already majorly screwed up and 'fix it later'... because its the time in between 'now' and 'later' that we the players get to suffer the nerf with nothing to compensate.
Omg your sig stole My idea! I made a whole thread on it! Tacwraith you cheated me!
Wow, it's nice to hear from you guys. Something like this is all we really wanted - to know that we had not been forgotten.
I just really hope that we're in line at some point for a complete revamp ala Chef/DE. ![]()
