Yep, people can choose whatever path they like, except in this game when a profession garners "too much" attention something bad happens to it...ask the CHs, ask other professions that got The Nerf Bat™.


Is it not your right to pick the parts of all of the professions to make your game enjoyable?


The ultimate PvP brawler has parts of each brawler prof mixed in, I certainly would not complain if someone wanted me to teach them a swordsman tree just so they could be kick ass brawlers. They have to sacrifice all of their points to combat to be good at PvP that is their choice.


Yes, but these folks aren't using the Grenade skills for PvP, they are more or less using them for grinding, then leaving. Couple that with the fact that since Grenades are at such a limited resources, the extra demand has made it hard for Commandos who use grenades for "skill" as opposed to "grinding" to find them.


As for the jedi grinders they have discovered the only weapon that provides combat xp directly, are you not flattered that the fastest path to jedi is to be a commando?

Why should someone elses choices make you look bad, they are the ones taking short cuts and finding ways to get to where they want to be faster.


I think Commandos here have a sense of pride and fear. Pride in that they (we) are the few that have stuck with this incredibly fun profession and have worked very hard to try to make it better, but fear that if more Jedi grinders breeze in and through, they will leave nothing butnerf cries in their wake. The concept of another nerf to this profession is a fuc*ing nightmare for most on this forum.


I dont get pissed of with people asking me dumb questions, it's all part of the interactive fun.

Come now, taking commando to get combat expereince is nothing new. Come on vets, come out and remind the newish people that before jedi, people were doing the exact same thing to get to BH, and all those elite combat experience trees. Not to mention it use to eb even easier (standing inside the lair to use them and nothing would attack you while inside).


By the way, was jedi way before publish 9. So I never used it. If I had to do it over, I still wouldn't use it. Much faster and more efficient to be a master fencer/pistoleer and one more elite profession to get: 900k, 900k, 900k, 300k exp caps.

If you want proof that Jedi or FS grinders can bring unwanted attention to a profession take a look at what is happening to the smugglers:

They are about to lose any hope of keeping Feign Death useful at all. I (and other Commandos) worry that more unwanted attention to our already beaten down profession could end up with another clocking with the Nerf Bat™.


I used to think Commandos and Smugglers were kind of in the same boat in terms of nerfness, but I am pretty sure this put them back in the lead again.

Actually, why should we COMMANDOS have to alter our profession for the sake of Jedi FS grinding?

Change the FS grinding method. In light of what's happened, it feels like the next type of attention Commando will be getting is some sort of /Nerfhit3

changing our xp would be considered a nerf, but it is a very acceptable one imho. I think that the comba xp should have a higher exchange rate because for other profs it's at a 1/10th rate. The only problem is us. that we can get it anuther way. if that was fixed that would be the best solution.

Just to warn you guys...I know you mentioned that you don't believe your profession should be changed to facilitate the FS and Jedi grinders...sorry, guys...we thought the same thing...and look what happened to the Smugglers. Tighten up your community and get ready to go toe to toe with the devs, and let what happened to us be a learning tool and a warning post for you guys.


Good luck to the commandos...now that Smuggler keeps getting the boot, I may become one of you guys.

Just want to say one thing....all you guys are taking this way to seriously, I agree with AlecYoung 100%--its just a game and if you feel that becoming commando in order to use grenades to get combat xp fast and grind jediwill make your game more enjoyable then go ahead, go for it--have fun....

i did.



had to drop swordsman and go down to doc 0440.


now i have 1 skill point left and just learned that if i go master TK also i will get an xp bonus on each kill. so now it looks like i'll end up TKM, commando 4000, and medic 0400


and to think that i thought master doc/ master sword was a good xp grinding template.


anyhow, i am now 12 boxes from padawan. imp detonators costs so freakin much though!

I picked it up for the grind... i must admit, but i think its really cool and so now im going for master!!!
