Thread: Guild Armor? [updated 7/25/05]

How about we divide the guild up into several units based along the lines of roles. Then we let the Unit Commanders and/or units themsleves choose a type of armor that they like. Maybe they want a different color armor for each type of planet? Maybe they want facitonal armor? So, we could lump people with similar tmeplates into the same unit and let them think up a unit history, name, and maybe even a mascot. This would help build "espris de corps" as well as healthy competition between the units. Also, this way the unit will choose a set of armor and uniforms that they are certified for.

It will also make them easily recognizeable in battle. Just imagine you see four troopers jump into battle with Ubese Recon Armor and you know your facing the Elite 1st Company (Death Dealers "delivering death from a distance") of crack riflemen/Commandos. Or you see a lone scout in forest green Marauder armor and you know he's one of the rare 467th Special Support Platoon (The Shadow's Gaze "you can't see us, but we see you") a group of Commandos specializing in covert reconassance. Then you don't have to squint and look at their bicep color, and can even recognize them form a distance.

Just an idea, but if we must standardize everyone I think we should have a "parade" uniform of Assault armor for PvE and RPing, and a more practical set of "Utilitarian" armor for PvP that includes Recon and Battle Armor.

On composite, please at least mix it up with something else, I'm sick of composite. Chitin I think is cool except for the helmet and flaring biceps, maybe mix it with a composite helmet and biceps?

Well Tacwraith, I've been doing some searching, and it appears that there are also recon and assault versions of Marauder armor. I'm not positive if this is true or not, please fil me in. I have to agree that it is definitely a rugged appearing armor, but there are pieces I dislike, particularly the boots, bracers, and gloves. I really like the skirt (reminds me of the ARC troopers), even if I don't like the kneepads. And I definitely hate the helmet. But there are some great possibilities there. How Customizeable are the colors? The leggings would look great in green with the trim in black like you have it. If you could change the color of the little shoulder pads, they would do perfectly for showing combat role, then leave the sleeves green. Otherwise use the sleeves for combat role. Then perhaps we can mix in some comp pieces like bracers and such for a truely unique and origional suit. That is if there is an assault version. Please let me know if this is the case.

I just checked the skill trees in game, looks like it's battle only. I say we stick with assault.

Once some one gets there full template completed they get into a squad.

If no one of that template classification are completed yet, the first one to complete becomes the Squad Leader.

Also do we have a Ventrilo or TeamSpeak server yet?

I don't think that the first person to finish their template should be the leader, but rather a vote within the squad that decides who gets it......so what if I love politics lol . Do we really need a Teamspeak server? It wouldn't be hard for me since I already have myheadset in preparation for BF2, but some people may not have a mic/headset available, plus we always could create our own chatserver if we didn't wanna use guildchat .

VoIP things are "Supposed" to be used along side the Guild chats.

some guilds forget about the chat and just use VoIP, WE SHALL NOT DO THAT!

We shall use BOTH!!
