The issues have been presented. SOE has done minimal. We don't need a correspondent, we need a patch.

This is what dopkick originally posted.

"To be realistic," says one member, "if you're in a combat environment where people are out there with assault rifles and heavy machine guns, your [stuff] is pretty weak if you're out there with a handgun. A handgun would typically be used for escape and evasion, which means that everything's gone to hell."

You just proved my point dopkick, you're not representative of the commando community, so stop talking as if you were. You speak for yourself, your opinions, and your views.

And how are we going to get a patch without a correspondent? Lets assume we get lucky? Im not willing to bet on that one considering the devs track record thus far.

What if we do get a patch? HUH? Then what? Do you think that it will fix everything thats borked? WRONG! Look at the patch we are getting now, its pathetic. There isnt near enough changes in it to bring the commando class into balance, not by a long shot.

So what happens if we get another patch and its still well below par? Then what? If we dont have a correspondent, who is going to express these concerns to the devs? NO ONE! Cuz the devs wont listen to the community, the devs listen to the correspondent. So the devs will go on, thinking that the class is fine totally oblivious and blind to the problems actually going on in game.

Its a lose lose situation not having a correspondent. We need one who isnt afraid to get up there, in the devs faces and get some answer. We need someone who will get in their face and say **edit** IS GOING ON HERE! And we need one who will get back to the community and get the community involved in what is going on.

These things I promise to you. But boycotting and refusing to get another correspondent is just stupid. It will only ensure more neglect to our profession.

And this is what Faraed's respose was...if anyone was flaming is was you man.

What do you guys really hope to accompish by rejecting a new commando? You need to understand there are hundrds of commandos in this game outside of this message board community. Regardless is 20 or 30 of you protest a new selection, SoE still owes it to the other several hundred commandos to choose a new community leader - you can choose to reject them or accept them, but to think you're going to de-rail SoE by protesting a new selection just seems silly.

It would be better to simply not play the game. Many better games are on the way anyways.

Also, what would "electing" a new correspondent do? Give more people at SOE the illusion that the system works. It doesn't.

Thank you dopkick and cel for speaking on behalf of the commando community and deciding for the hundreds of commandos out there we're not willing to give anyone a chance. You guys are upset about the current situation, we all are, but you guys are purposefully provoking this guy who is simply trying to help this class. I may not think he's the right guy for the job since I haven't seen his involvement in the community, but that doesn't mean I'm going to dismiss him and rip him to shreds because of everything going on now with our class.

However, this board represents commando issues for every player who plays SW:G, therefore, it's necessary to bring these issues up the best way we can and try to get the class fixed instead of moping about about losing our correspondent. He went down by trying to fix this class, he did the best thing he coulddo to bring awareness to this issue, now it's OUR job to pick up and carry on what he gave us.

If you havnt noticed man...and please check the hundreds of other posts and threads started about this matter. Most of the other commandos who have posted DO NOT want another corespondent. And most supported Garibaldi's decision to leave. I never claimed at any time I was speaking for anyone except myself, but I would like to direct you to the 1000s of other posts of comamndos who all said the same as I have. You need to stop reading more into what is said other than what is planely stated. By the way, nobody is mooping around about loosing Garibaldi, what many commandos are stating is if they didnt bother to listen to someone who attempted many times to relay all of our thoughts and concerns to the devs, what can anyone else do UNTIL THE DEVS ACTUALLY LISTEN. Seems a few others needs to listen or at least read a bit more carefully lol.

Well like I said earlier Celtic. The devs have given bogus information from the get go about this class. Garibaldi and many others have asked on many occasions what the devs image of the role of a commando in this game should be, and the question has either been completely ignored or given some half witted reply.

All of the suggestions that Garibaldi posted for fixes and changes are a good start. So far it looks like we are already getting the acid rifle cert fixed and the launcher pistol xp adjusted to give heavy weapons xp, which is good, but not enough. We still have the gamestopping issues of horrible damage rates, ridiculous optimal range rates, horrible accuracy, and major delays between specials, etc to deal with. The problem with suggesting a solution for these issues is that the devs keep avoiding answering the question of what the commandos role is supposed to be.

We need to get this answer first. Unless we just want to develop our own idea of what we want the commando class to be and try to talk the devs into creating that for us. But im sure everyone realizes that option is utterly impossible.

Lets get some support here going for someone to be the new correspondent and actually get this question answered for us so we can start workin on some ideas for changes to achieve that goal.

Giantt what you need to realize is there is no point having another corespondent that is simply a token postion to make SOE look good. If they appoint a corespondent, and they decide they cannot reply to our concerns directly on these or any other forums or through emails, then they MUST be willing to listen and and actually CORESPOND with our corespondent. Thats the point so many commandos are trying to make. Nobody is trying to de-rail SOE, they seem to be doing a fine job of that on their own and most people see it.

The irony is I don't think they'd let us choose a new one anyway heh. This does seem to be all pretty much pointless given how they've picked the first time around.

Anyway I'm gone come the 27th - I've already canceled and unless I see some real results and an improvement in communication I won't be renewing. I can wait through a game's development as long as I have faith and trust in the development team. As long as I know the developers are listening, and interested in improving the game for the better, I can tolerate a bad game knowing it will get better. But when the developers break that trust as has happened here, I see no reason to sit around with my money going to them, so instead of actively working with us to fix the game, they're adding more classes such as politician and urban planners when what's in the game now is a mess. What I don't want to see is community relations managers posting a response that we already got 3 weeks ago that contradicts everything we've built on this board, including other communications with developers. That shows there's a breakdown in communication.

I wish I could release buggy, incomplete, and pathetic software only to have hundreds of fan boys rally behind me while I ignore them. That'd be such a nice world.

These are all issues Garibaldi attempted to relay to the devs several times. Im not accusing you or anyone else of anything other than I saw your orginal post as self-indulgent. If it wasnt for your secon post I read I wouldnt have posted anything probably except perhaps something in jest or fun spirited. However after seeing your second post I realized you should NOT be a corespondent, just as I shouldn't either.

Still you have yet to post anything original or in anyway different from what anyone else has already posted other then the obvious. Of course we need answers, of course the weapons needs fixed, and of course we need a new corespondent eventually. I simply do not think based on your prior posts you should be the one. Thats not a flame, its simply my opinion or an observation if you will.

However if someone steps forward and actually suggests something original that may get the devs attention other then stating the obvious then perhaps that person should be the new corespondent. Till then its just more chatting on the forums.
