Think about it for a minute...

What would happen to the community if a person buoght the game the day the combat (insert whatever word you want here)

and was allowed to spend 250 skill points for profs.

The beta will probably have the blue froggies and let you use all 250 just as happened with the Jedi on TC2. Thego live versionm musthave a limit on the SP anyonme is able to spend.

I'm personally going to have zero SP left over that day.

Speaking of Jedi Arent thety already suuposed to be "balanced"?

On the live version, you will ONLY be able re-allocate points that you've already spent...so a new player who hasn't spent many or any points won't be able to re-allocate like someone who has spent up to 250 points...A new player won't get to re-allocate 250 pts UNLESS they've already spent 250 pts at the time they re-allocate...

Also, just to make sure this is known...you only get to re-allocate ONCE....

You gotta love Tyrant...He isn't about PR...he's straight and to the point with his No, Yes, OK and Done...If he says something is happening or not happening, you can count on that (since he's pretty much in charge)...he doesn't dance around anything and isn't worried about hurting a few peoples feelings....

At the Summit I saw lots of people going up to him and asking "Can my profession have..." and even before they finished, Tyrant burst out with "No..." It war a LaughRiot...got to the point where we just started making up things to ask for just so we could hear Tyrant say "No"...

Sounds like you need to make sure you have all 250 point spent. Then you'll be able to re-allocated them to what you want......

Could a newbie pick up a bunch of novice professions spending 15 points each, then reallocate them into higher professions??

EQ3SWG The Everlasting Beta
Pfej::Kauri h Master Commando/TKM M
Bulldog::Naritus h Pistoleer N
Silberado::Chilastra h Noob

That might be possible, who knows...but they'll probably have to have it set up before the roll out of the Upgrade...I doubt that players that create characters after the Combat Upgrade patch to live will be able to use the re-allocate feature...

OR...if the programmers get really creative...well who knows...

Silberado wondered about a noobie spending all the SP on novice profs.

I think I'llspend this weekend doing just that on the other servers that I have characters but don't play.

I kinda like the Idea of having MCs onall the servers I can get to.

I'll let you know after the combat thingy goes live how this worksout.

Probaly still won't play on those servers anyway.

I know...And as I said, that noobie would have to do that BEFORE the patch went live...The programers could also get creative and say (in some way) that all skill points spent in beginer professions can only be re-allocated to beginner professions...Or make it so that the re-allocation thing will bar re-allocating skill points to elite/hybrid professions unless you had already spent some in at least one elite/hybrid profession before starting the re-allocation...

The other thing to remember is that getting all the novice profession boxes will only spend 105 skill points...that's still a ways from 250...some grinding would have to be involved...

Yeah, but getting all of the 1/1/1/1 boxes would only take maybe a couple of hours, and that's 48 skill points right there. The only thing I can think of is that they break it down by number of trees? *shrug*
