Just realized i had an error in it:
The Flamethrower tests were made standing, against an unarmored moving target at 15m using Flamesingle 2 (stats Flamer Dmg 512-1022, spd. 4.8)

you should hold onto the flamer...show everyone the "true" power of a TKM....you wouldn't have lasted past 3 hits.
I'm never sure what people mean by "front loaded" damage. When I press "Flame Single 2" there's a pretty good delay before the weapon actually fires. I usually get hit at least once and normally more before I do my damage. (Against a BH/Pistoller I was once incapped before the shot went off...and since I accepted his duel I had the advantage of hitting FS2 right after I hit accept.)
While I agree the profession is not totally gimped...it's not easy to justify becoming a Commando over any other ranged combat class. Any justification has to begin with, "Do you want to be a Commando, no matter what?" If they answer "No", then Commando loses.
I do agree that the flame DoT needs to be looked at. Unhealable DoTs that cause massive wounds are bad. Even if you survive the initial incap, unless you can get to water, even with some fast healing it will re-incap you in a few minutes. And it will be causing huge wounds throughout. I can see how it'd be frustrating.
As for Pistoleers not being able to incap you in three seconds. the combo is Pistol Melee Defense 1, Fan Shot, Fan Shot. With a reasonably fast FWG5 a Master Pistoleer could easily inflict 1500 PvP damage on you in 3 seconds if the Knockdown works. Having Pistol Melee Defense 1 myself...I can say that unless facing a TKA that's at least 0300or another Pistoleer with Fan Shot, it works 90% of the time. Even against Pistoleers/TKAs it usually works. I've macroed it,it works so well (though I'm not a Master so it takes me more than 3 seconds to pull it off). The luck comes in the fact that that is random HAM damage, and I need it to all hit one bar to incap.
But isn't that "front loaded" damage? A master could easily pull it off faster than I could get a special out on my FT as a Master Commando...
Actually, I wonder if Pistol Whip gets the 2.5 damage modifier since it's a melee attack with a pistol...anyone know? Never tried it on a Commando.
Commando has tons of problems, we need to 2.5x penalty taken off, we need the rest of our tree fixed, we need master to be made better than just FT4 and reluctantly I'll say that we need the wounds on our DOT reduced.
With that, commando will be what it should be.

Ivoni your tests are exactly that, tests they are in a controlled situation, the variables are to an absolute minimum, and the results clearly show that an elite class suffers complete infieriority.You should gather as many of these as possible between masters vs mcom, and PM the results to mastersynn and thunderheart, results like these can only be dealt with, not argued.
These are simple non complicated tests showing what masters can do.
This isn't using crappy guns or tweaking data. It's just simple FACTS.
It's all about the skills and specials.
Commando has ONE. Toss in armor or resists and we are screwed.
We miss more than anyone. This is a simple fact due to our having the lowest speed and accuracy of anyone.
Although we are slightly ahead of the smuggler with our LP with master marksman speed/accuracy bonus, but penalized with no specials with it.
It would appear that Pistoleer and BH have some amazing specials.
Rifleman aren't too shabby.
Caribine needs work and Smuggler needs some love.
Fix our HAR, up our accuracy with our guns, toss in some specials with the LP, and up the charges on our consumables and we'll be fine.
As it stands, we are by no means gods.

yeah commandos aren't pvp gods, but we aren'tas weak as you make us out to be. Hybrid bounty hunters aremuch tougherto kill 1 on 1, not because of their dps (which is very high) but because of their specials.
Sure commandos are one trick pony, massive front loaded damage. Its a hell of a trick.
Heh I like how you alljust brush aside flame dot when that it always the biggest complaint made about commandos being overpowered. Jump in water? Sure, try that in tatooine or anywherewater is not close by. Its also nice that it gives health wounds each time it ticks, unlike any otherweapon's bleeds. Nevermind thata master commando can stack 4 of them that ignore all armor and heat resists.
A pistoleer kill me in 3 seconds? Maybe if I'm not wearing armor and they have a krayt tissue fwg5 with a big damage slice and damage powerup and get lucky enough to hit max damage every shot. Still I probably could keep up with stopping shot damage just healing myself, even without armor.
Eyeshot is bull**edit**, everybody knows it. It can be countered with the right buffs and equipment.
Oh yeah for the tk test, melee defense doesn't lower damage, unarmed toughness does. What melee defense does is make hitting you in melee harder. Heh kinda don't even need to bother with damage tests, if you let a tk get close to you, you are dead.
why is the rifleman in that test using dlt20a and not laser rifle or t-21? Those are their big damage weapons if I remember right.
