I think your conjecture needs a little more evidance to be worth the ink it would take to print it. We do that much to a prone rifleman NPC. You have to hit a PC with UH3 about 4 times to kill someone and that is after the KD. I'll try to get some solid numbers for you guys since TKA is the only melee class that works ATM. Until than remember that we must be within 4m to even hit you and server latency usually makes that impossible. Since this is post is based on true combat spam, let it be known that any melee's spam will generally look more like this:

Honestly people, I'll try to get us some hard numbers in the next day or two.
Sorry but this test seems setup to make commandos look weak. Don't underestimate front loaded damage. Versus unbuffed opponents, commando specials and charged weapons are 0 second one shot kills. DPS doesn't matter if your enemy is takinga dirtnap after the first shot.
'561-1112 5.6 speed' I think he means 4.6 speed since thats what the fts on my server are. Unless you are trying to oneshot somebody, most commandos would use speed sliced flamethrower instead of damage sliced. Which would be something like 412-812 3.3 speed and it would put up much better dps numbers.
Also youdidn't mention the flamethrower dot in your calculation. Stopping shot and eye shot are nice and all but they don't create a massiveuncurable dot.
Besides, nothing can out dps a commandooncethey havestackedmultiple fire dots. Too bad nobody ever lives long enough for the second dot to be applied.

I was unaware health wounds weren't curable..... Odd.
Oh yes... Can't forget:
Fire + Jumping in Water = No more fire.
Try it out.
I took off all my armor.
I took off all my buffs.
I went pointblank, didn't move, didn't fight back and said..
Kill me, as quick as you can.
So a master smuggler did so.
So a master carbinier did so.
So a combo master pistoleer/ bh mastered pistol tree did so.
In one round he did pistol specials.
The next he did bh specials.
Then I had a master commando just shoot me with his flamethrower.
That was the stat of his flamethrower he was using. His wasn't well made for speed and got a damage slice. Shrug. Every flamethrower made is different.
Then I had him shoot me with flamesingle2. I posted that too.
Then we went through every other toy we had on us.
The data you see is what was in my logs, cleaned up for chat and things.
You see, I am perfectly aware the commando is weak. It is one trick pony. Toss in armor and/or resist to heat and we are screwed for damage output.
Everyone has been screaming how l33t and uber powerful the commando is.
It isn't.
And did you notice the SHEER AMOUNT of misses? Yeah. We miss. A lot. Nobody misses like we do.
Let me repeat. I was NOT MOVING. HE (the master commando shooting at me) was kneeling and NOT MOVING.
Sure, IF we hit you we can one hit kill in PvP IF no armor with resists to said damage and/or no buffs.
And if you didn't notice, it takes 8 seconds to try again with the flamethrower, at best.
Seems there's 2 other classes that will kill me before I even get a chance to.
If you don't believe me, or think it's a trick, go find your nearest commando and ask him to shoot you with no specials.
Then go duel a pistoleer or bounty hunter. Realize they can kill you before you even get close.
I'll go get the data vs an LLC, a bh carbine, and a rifleman. Then I'll go find some melee and find what they do.
Point is. There's the data. In an ideal situation with no armor and not moving.
And when it's as good as it gets, we ain't all that.
I'm not touching bleeds or dots. That's a whole other topic. And water cures out fire dot. Yeah it's lame. I can't help it. So does dying.
Don't underestimate front loaded damage
And that only happens within 16m and we get the first shot...the test for the BH or Pistoleer shows that if they initiate the battle from outside 16m we're toast in 3 seconds, front load damage does nothing unless we can fire it from anywhere, which we can't

The DOT doesn't matter if we're dead, sure it may incpa the person, but by that time we're already at the cloning facility and they've taken faction from us....end of story.
He didn't use DOTs from the other professions either. A rifleman, pistoleer, and carbineer can apply DOTs from 64m. We can only apply our dot within 16m. Just stay out of our range and you have our DOT beat. Or just go for a quick swim. However, we can't heal the heath, action, or mind DOTS that quickly. Your argument on an "incurable DOT" is weak, at best.

ok within 6 secounds he did 2600 with no misses
so in 1 sec a master can do 433 dam to some one who has +39 melee deff{im a tk to c}
i still havent complytly figurd out how mods work so help me out here ivoni with the mods taken away wat would he have done
It seems Maddogs beat me to the punch. Looks about right to me, TKA vs. a ranged oponent (it's so sad) that has been KDed would do about that much damage, if anything I think this is slightly too low, but still OK.
I was unarmed as well. I'm also a trandoshan so in addition to unarmed 4 I get a bit of a bonus.
Ok. I search and searched and this is the best rifleman I could find.
