Wow 50k for 125 glops? thats not bad at all! What server are you on Vortex?

Supply and demand is the key, id gladly pay 50k for 125 glops, becuase i cant find ANYONE to make a decent grenade on Eclipse. . . so thanks Vortex for taking the time.

Not sure which server your on...and haven't bought any gernades (but I have a couple of Master Weaponsmiths looking into it for me)...but on Valcyn, Tuckiee and Runyon are selling Heavy Acid Riffles for 15 to 16K....Flame Throwers for about 14K...and I bought a couple of Launcher Pistols for 12K each...was wondering how that compared to elsewhere...seems really fair from what I've seen....

once you play a weaponsmith you will never understand why we price what we price. There are a lot of fees ya know! Such as harvesting fees, energy fees, vendor fees, and house feesto name a few just so we can keep the store open. What are your fees again? So you should have TONS of credits then since you got nothing to buy other than your armor and weapons.

Man I hate to poke holes in this statement but I will! First of all you may have fees but you have a lot more potential to make credits. Artisans make credits while they are not even logged in. Most of the successful weapon and armor smiths have already amassed several million credits but every time i turn around I am dropping 50k in credits on buying a gun because something changed and they dont grandfather what I am currently using (e.g. Flamethrowers) or new armor etc etc. The most I have ever had at one time is 150k and I run missionsALOT. I think cool I just got a new cert, then I get to the weaponsmith and have to drop another 50 - 80k there goes half my money, **edit** do we just get married and divorced?

My only source of income is a mission, and if I fail I have to pay out services to medics and entertainers and it takes me just as long as crafting only if I am not logged in I can't make credits unlike an artisan.

I think some of the price structures are way out of scale and supply and demand sucks for the casual gamers because they dont play enough to meet the prices being driven up by the more adamate gamer, and so leveling becomes more and more difficult with subpar gear.

So as you are sitting on your pile of money, quit your whinningbecause you have more money already than I will ever amass in this game unless they institute a lottery and I get lucky.

Sure, the grenades take more. So the bottom line isn't really that they are harder. It's that they make more money on the FWG cause they can pump it out faster.

It doesn't cost a lot of resources. Be honest. It costs you time. That's what you're making all the players pay for. The time it took you to make said item.

So Weaponsmith stuff costs 80 resources, and you charge 6k. Hmm. Most resources go for 3-4c, right?

So it cost you all of what? 160-300 (depending on resource cost) to make that one gun.

You make ten of them. 3k. You sell EACH for 6k? You sell one you paid for the others, and then some.

So don't tell me, you're poor. Or can't afford it. You make in bulk, you sell two of em, and you made money back.

And if you have harvesters, you've just made even more money considering it really doesn't cost all that much to keep harvesters going.

And I know, "Yes, harvesters cost money!" -- True, but considering your overhead? You sell 1-3 guns, and you got it.

And yes, I have a weaponsmith. =)

I know how easy it is. You just can't keep up with the demand, so charge more. If you lowered prices, you'd have a higher demand on your time to make more. And that'd be annoying.

So don't quote it's resource costs. It's not. It's time costs. You're charging for your time.

I am a commadno and a weaponsmith and I have been trying to sell grenades.

I will tell you, they ARE a ain to make, not only beecasue of the sheer time (which is considerable) but they also require resources that we don't normally need. No all weaponsmith have 300k of steel either that they can easily 'waste' on grenades.

It's really hard to price them.

Currently I charge 1k for cryos 1500 for thermals (all 5 charges) and I think I am way too cheap, but I hope to make up for it with returning customers. I make them out of realtively medicore materials though, I save the good stuff for non consumables.

For comparisons sake-

I sell cannons for 12k, special heavies for 20 and Rls for 75. I don't sell proton's as other weaosmiths would buy them and turn them into rocket launchers heh

I am fairly new WS though and dont have a alrge customer base so making grenades is not so much a big deal atm, but if I were busy liek others, i might not waste my time either...

Except for MY commando of course

Don't pay more than.....
(All these weapons are HIGH END, not average weapons, if the weapons your looking at is average knock of 5K)
Flame Thrower 25,000K
Acid Rifle 25,000K
Three Cannons 15,000K

Anything more than that and your getting ripped off.

Listen bud play a NON CRAFTING COMBAT ONLY CHARACTER ... then say you should have a ton of money as one.

I play a character and I earn my money by doing misisons I have no crafting skills and that is my choice. I understand supply and demand being in sales in r/l. I truely think pricing should be brought down and the way to do this would be HIGH END MOB DROPS.

I am tired of buying a weapon IE: FLAMETHROWER ... TWO DAYS LATER ---> PATCHED. Therefore I now spent instead of 30k for my flamer 60k cause I had to buy 2. So things like this sorta blow and I think weaponsmiths are ovrcharging plain and simple.

In all honesty what is a weaponsmith gonna do with 20million credits start his own army and wipe out the Imperium?? Perhaps buy Naboo ??

It is ridiculous what is being charged and since mob drops are f0xing CDEF bunk a$$ junk Weaponsmiths can charge whatever the hell they want.

Just bad business and what you need to do is Boycott and badmouth any "weaponsmith" who is overcharging and gouging like is being done on my server ... "Wanderhome". Some smtihs charged too much used low garde ore got basically put out of business for their high end weapons and now only noobs buy off them since they are known scammers. Same thing with slicers who run.

I just picked up 3 28-shotPBC's (post-patch versions) on the bazaar for 3k each. I'll be looking up the smith after work for sure to see what he regularly charges.

Grenades are what get my goat, tho. Charging 3k (the going rate on Ketat most vendors)for 5 frag grenades is highway robbery considering the miniscule amount of damage they do. Hopefully people will get a clue and drop prices to something reasonable....

Hmm apparantly I've been gettinga raw deal on my server Kauri. I have noticed nearly all Master Weaponsmiths have fixed their prices on FT's at 40k... same with all Commando Weapons. You can go to Tatooine, Naboo, hell any shop and they charge the same. Except for the one weaponsmith I talked too about the grenade issue. He said he prides himself on undercutting the others and he'll make me all the grenades I want at a lower rate. Apparantly he uses some formulae to calculate cost based on DPS, I'm not sure really but he is cheaper and his wares are comparable to the other Masters.

The pricing of any commodity has absolutely nothing to do with what goes into the product but, rather what customers are willing to pay for it. So, who's decision is the pricing on OUR weapons!? IT'S OUR'S!!!!! So, if you want the **edit** weaponsmiths to lower the prices, buy your freakin flamethrower, level up to master, and don't buy anything else from the bastards so that they have to lower the prices. If they decide to strike against us, too bad for them. One or two weaponsmiths will hang back and specialize in our weapons at decent prices and make an utter killing! I was one of the top two weaponsmiths on my server for nearly the first month so I know what goes into making weapons and upkeeping harvesters, vendors, etc. Well, that's my two cents and I'm stickin' to it.

Exactly. Hence why I have a Weaponsmith in training. =)

How to beat the gouge? Sure, I'll spend tons of money on getting a char to Master Weaponsmith, but then I'll have one to make my own guns at cost.

In the long run, it'll save me more money then buying stacks of frags.

The weaponsmith I spoke ofworked out very well. I bought 22 stacks of grenades at 1k per 5 so if I did the crate thing it would be 25k for a crate of 25. These grenades are also top quality. This weaponsmith has just earned a loyal customer for life He may not get as much profit selling those grenades as selling a FWG5, but he will make up in almost GUARANTEED sales of all of his grenades. I have recommended him to my guild as well so he will get their business exclusively. See, guys it PAYS not to gouge
