Last night I went to a weaponsmith store that told me he just stocked up on Commando weapons in particular the new grenades. Now the new grenades do quite a bit of damage, but do you know how much he was charging? 70k for a crate of 25! HOLY CRAP! I could have gotten a Lightning Cannon w/ 28 charges for about 40k, and that seems a bit high. Weren't many of the commando weapons made easier to make so these weapons should be cheaper now. Flamethrower pre-patch ran about 50k now they're 30-40k, same with the HAR. Pre-patch I used to pay 800 for 5 frag grenades... now the same person is charging 14k! That's over a %1400 increase in price. Come on weaponsmiths, I know it must be exciting now that the Commando weapons work that you have a large influxe in demand for these weapons, but can you please STOP GOUGING US! I'm sorry but I don't see the logic in paying2-3k for 1 STINKIN GRENADE I don't care if they do work better. Most Commandos dont have 3 millions just to spend on grenades. It's ridiculous.

Player run econemy... its a simple matter of suply and demand. if demand is high enough that people will pay crazy prices then more power to him. however if his prices are so high that nobody buys em trust me... he will lower his prices to sellable lvls.

To Upgrade something implies that you are adding too, enhancing, and fixing the thing that you are upgrading. The CU does not do this, it is not adding too, enhancing, or fixing the combat system that is in place, it is replacing the innovative SWG system with the generic one used by its competitors. Be honest and stop calling it the CU, Call it the CR (combat replacement) instead

I somewhat agree though, i mean most of our weapons are consumables, which is not that great you know, i mean its high prices sure but for something for a set amount of shots, i mean a particle cannon of mine misses most of the time ( i used most of its shots in my battle with a jedi ) but still i think some weaponsmiths should lower the prices a little bit in my mind.

I haven't bothered to buy any crates of grenades yet, but don't they come in bundles like stims? If you think about the fact that each of those 25 "grenades" could be a group of 5, then the money doesn't seem so bad anymore.

One crate of grenades should be 25 stacks of 5-use grenades...
So 125 grenades. And 70K does seem steep for it to me as well...

However, here is the weaponsmiths dilemma: To make one C22 grenade, you need to spend the same amount of factory time, and half the resources of one pistol... like say a scout blaster.

Now, on my server, a scout blaster sells for 10-13K... So, if you put that into perspective, the single 5-use grenade should (based on production time and costs), cost 5-6K.

Now, that is most definitely too much. I'd never pay that much for a 5-use item myself either. So the big dilemma for weaponsmiths and commando's is going to be getting to a point where making grenades is a viable source of profit, and using them isn't going to break your bank. How we get here, will be tough. An ideal solution would be the devs increasing the number of uses on grenades, and other consumables... Or reducing the production time/resources a lot.

Same problem applies to heavy weapons... with the patch, rare resources are no longer needed, but many new schematics use MORE resources. Producing a single 30-use HPBC uses as many resources as 5 or scout blasters, and takes about 3-4 times more factory time.

Most master weaponsmiths wont stock consumable commando weapons once the original big rush is past... They are FAR less viable than any other weapons from an economic point of view, so why would they?

Also from a discussion with a weaponsmith from about a month ago the grenades require many factory made components and require a very surprising ammount of resourcs. I asked him why he didn't make them and his responce is he could make one high end or two lesser weapons for the same time/resources. That being the case I can see how they are charging that much. On the plus side lower weapon smiths may start making them for uxp now which should help you out as they will most likely charge less.

Hmm I see some point to the high prices. It does not justify it, but I can understand their point of view. This probably would have never been an issue if they had allowed Commandos to craft their own grenades. I wouldn't mind going through that hassle to make my own grenades then I would better appreciate their application. By putting grenades to the Weaponsmiths we can't get them cuz it's more profitable to make other weapons. Sorry to say but I refuse to pay 70k for 25 grenades (BTW it's 25 grenades NOT 25 stacks of 5). I talked to one weaponsmith who says he's going to make grenades provided I can guarantee that I get the word out to most other commandos so he can make some profit by it.

Overall, I think if the DEVS put grenade crafting back into the Commando's hands then this problem will be resolved. Another solution would be to make consumable weapons more cost effective thus downing the price making them reasonable cost wise and the weaponsmith makes a profit.

Dude, you have no idea how many components and mienrals go into making a glop grenade. An FWG5 takes 3 components and about 80 resources to make....I sell them for about 10k each at 52-203, 2.0 stats. A glop grenade takes 3 components as well, and those components are harder to make then the FWG5's are, and then about the same amount of resources to make as the FWG5 does. I sell about 200+ FWG5's a day, which means I could easily charge 250k for a crate of those.....why do commandos expect us to sell a greanade that is harder to make than a gun for less than 2k each? I could just spend all my time making FWG5's and getting a lot more money, and just ignore all your whining commandos, but no, I spend my time and money and minerals to make your stupid grenades, and I still hear you whining about how much they cost. They aren't as easy as they seem to make, so before you open your ignorant mouth, do some research as to what it takes to make them and WHY weaponsmiths charge so much.......

You are wrong again....a crate of 25 grenades is 25 grenades with a stack of 5 each, so that IS 125 uses....and for my grenades, they are glops and glops have over 1700 max dmg.....I don't think 50k is a bad price for 125 uses of 1700+ dmg.

once you play a weaponsmith you will never understand why we price what we price. There are a lot of fees ya know! Such as harvesting fees, energy fees, vendor fees, and house feesto name a few just so we can keep the store open. What are your fees again? So you should have TONS of credits then since you got nothing to buy other than your armor and weapons.

I will restate my previous comment. This problem would be resolved if the consumable weapons (grenades in particular) was made more cost effecient making (using less parts/resources) them less of a hassle to make.

Sorry if I assumed too much and yes I was a bit ignorant about what you have to go through to make them. I already stated that I can understand why they cost so much, but they are still a bit high.

Ugh!

I haven't been making grenades, but I'm charging 20k per heavy weapon (not including the rocket Launcher) on my server. They might not be made from the best materials out there but they're competitive.
