I do agree with the original poster's point, though. Any future changes to our profession and any further expansion of the contraband system or a tariff system has to make the goods being regulated worthwhile to the playerbase. I've always said that we're an easily replaced profession, and if the only things that are illegal are things we make, then we're basically out of business and completely useless UNLESS the playerbase perceives the reward as worth the risks. Right now, there's too much overlap with other professions in that particular regard. The only thing that will help our spice business is the fact that spice is readily available and easy to make. Quality doesn't count and resource quantity is usually pretty low as far as I can tell (so far anyway).I also expect that chefs will price their products to reimburse their own costs, whereas we can afford to price our products to move (and thereby make up our money on volume rather than per-unit profit).

The weapon thing is a problem, though. Slicing is great, but it's random. It's permanent, but it's also permanently illegal now. Powerups give you a defined result and are temporary, but they can be cheap too and at least you know what you're getting. Plus, they aren't illegal.

Now, granted, the current crackdown is like being whipped with a wet spaghetti noodle. It's annoying, sure, but it doesn't really hurt. However, any future law enforcement is going to have to be more effective and painful (to give people a reason to smuggle), and any future contraband/taxed goods will have to be worth the risk or taxes. This is part of the reason why I think the devs have been taking so long with us. I do think they may want to create a true smuggling system, but they can't figure out a way to give us the tools we need to be both interesting AND useful. At least not at the present time, and likely not until the SE.

According to the SW timeline Jedi nor Mando Armor should not exist. Lucasarts completely ignored the Jedi rule, but for some weird reason, Mando armor is still rare. Where is the logic in that?

If anything I would have thought they would have made the mando armor a hell of alot easier to attain than being a Jedi.

Tell you what Sony, why not just make Mando Armor/ jetpacks at least as common as Jedi. It's a little too late to say "We need to stick to the SW timeline" since you already borked it by letting 10,000 people becoming Jedi in an era where there should only be 2. Little past the point of no return so why not just make it fun rather than annoying.

I'm not saying everyone should be running around with Mando Armor on, but it should be as attainable as becoming a Jedi. And why the hell are jetpacks so dam rare I mean come on they are more rare than anything I've seen in the game. Surely in this made-up-pretend Star Wars Galaxy you created, you can't tell me that it's easier to make a Lightsaber than a dam Jetpack? WHO IS SMOKING THE CRACK AT SOE?!?

My main point is, you have already ruined the magic of the SW universe through this game, well all know it's fake and no one can seriously "Role-Play" in this game with all the dam Jedi around, they arent supposed to be here, period, so it ruins it. Jetpack should be more common than Mando Armor, and Mandolorian armor should be more common than Jedi for christ sakes. Start making the fun stuff easier to get before it's too late because it's starting to feel like that's all there is to do is get a Jedi, or go for Mando/Jetpack, 3 things which only people with LOTS of time on their hands can attain. So you see, as time goes on, more and more people get frustrated wasting all this time for a stupid little item in a game, hence, they will get bored and leave SWG for good.

An important thing I forgot to add is that on the Jedi grind, at least you are guaranteed Jedi status, as opposed to the Jetpack/mando grind, which is purely based on luck, which is the sole reason why Jedi is more common than mando/jetpack.

Its all about the money... Press Release saying Jedi are now being unlocked = 25000 more accounts..... when population starts to go down another press release saying madno armor now easier to unlock = another 25000 more accounts and the execs are happy again.
