Thread: OK guys, we need a new correspondent.

Now that you've pointed that out and his "scheme" is revealed he won't be posting here much more. He can't take criticism and he's getting a flurry of it.
That's why I posted my earlier comment as I knew it was onlya matter of time before this was pointed out.
For some reason I still believe that the DEV's are working hard to get everything working, and after Garibaldi's move, and all other reactions out there I believe they can no longer ignore the issues.
On a personal note: Faraed thank you for stepping forward, I think you did a great opening post here, but ruined it by reacting on a personal level on the last reply there. What a correspondent needs is a level-headed attitude towards all posts, even flames to his/her own post.

Harvydood, you make some good points. Somehow it needs to be determined exactly what the devs have in mind. They have posted various times that certain things "work as they are supposed to" and what not, but they are still very vague about what exactly they think the commando class should offer. And yes, i know this has been said a thousand times before, but we still dont have an answer to this. Until this is question is answered, its impossible to suggest direction for this class.
For the rest of you, think what you want of me, flame to your hearts content. Im done finger pointing and listening to your assumptions about me. Its not gonna get anything done. If you dont like me, fine, but im still going to do what I can to help this class, with your support or not.
And no, im not going anywhere anytime soon. Expect to see more of me here from this day forward. ALOT more of me.
Dude I dont know about you but I paid for a product that wasn't even ready for beta standards. I have spent going on 2 months on this game and have seen nothing but severe bugs and incomplete professions not including the most incomplete profession of all....the commando.
As a paying customer, much like all the other players in SWG I expected certain things out of my product which they advertised. They have NOT delivered on what they advertised. So I have every right to complain about the product in which I purchased. Now as a paying customer your more then welcome not to gripe if you choose not to. Thats your business.
However please do not come on here and tell us we do not have a right to voice our thoughts and concerns in the way we choose to. We paid for this product and have every right to voice our opinions. And the last thing we need is someone who is self-indulgent and comes on here giving his personal real credentials which nobody cares about anyway. If your such a success in life, why are you spending your free time playing a geeky game like SWG lol.
It amazes me how the internet is filled with such beautiful geniuses who cant help but to tell us allhow great they are and the amzaing jobs they have. We are truely lucky to have great men such as Faraed bestow us with his intellilect and willing to lead us through this troubled time.

You can't be blunt as people don't like being criticized. As a leader you will be criticized. Obviously, you've proven that you can't handle it.
You noticed after I posted how he is unqualified because of his posts that seemed angry and his flames of you dopkick subsided thereafter. Sounds like a politician running for some political office lol.
Maybe you can get yourself on that California recall ballot right next to Gary Colemans name.

That always happens. It's nothing new. People eventually realize they are not qualified for something, are ignorant of the topic at hand, or just don't know what the hell is going on and will eventually change their ways to save their "reputation." It happens time after time after time.
From what I'm reading, it doesn't seem like Faraed is telling you guys not to do anything. In fact, I doubt if he has any qualms about you 2 just giving up.
It does seem that YOU are trying to tell HIM not to try and help in any way he can, and to not become a correspondent.

We're telling him he's not leadership material. He's full of hot air. Someone who wanted to help would say "OK, I want to help, and THIS is EXACTLY how I plan on going about it." Has he provided us with proof that he will do this? No. Also, you could say that he failed a test of sorts to see if he has the people skills to handle the job. Well, the results speak for themselves.
Thats my point celtic, we wont get fixes without a correspondent. We will get ignored more as the issues are pushed aside further and further.
You have a right to voice your opinions of the product you pay for in anyway you choose, I wouldnt expect otherwise. But the devs dont pay attention to these forums for a reason, too much rabble, and too little time to deal with it. If they actually sat around and read every email, and every forum post on every bug, exploit and complaint that anyone had, they would never have any time to get anything done at all. Voicing your opinions here is great, but in reality, it does little good. This is why a correspondent is needed. Because the correspondent is the only one who has any chance at all of getting these issues through to them. Ignored or not, he has a much better chance of being heard than a bunch of rants on a forum do. Even if its not me, I dont care. Notice in my original post I did suggest that if you guys knew of someone else who would make a good correspondent that you should mention them? I just want to see some progress here, not just everyone giving up and saying "lets boycot the correspondent." I just fail to see how that is a logical step at all. 2 wrongs doesnt make a right, you cant fix neglect with neglect.
So the devs didnt listen to Garibaldi, maybe some different action needs to be taken. For example............................
A lot (is that better?) of people are concerned about the state of this game in general. People are concerned about the economy, continuity, difficulty level, content, etc. Every profession in this game has a correspondent, and he does his job not because he is concerned about his class and his class only. Maybe there is a way we could "pool" these correspondents so to speak, get them to work together. If the devs wont listen to 1, maybe they will listen to 5, or 10 complaining about the same issues. Correspondents working together.
So the commando correspondent gets some help from the other correspondents in raising issues in his class to the devs. In return he later helps the correspondents from those other classes raise their issues to the devs. It may be a long shot, but atleast its an idea that may work. I believe that anyone doing that job honestly and wholeheartedly wants to help, and not because hes greedy or self richteous (its not like hes gettin paid, or going to get a job, or going to achieve any real life reward) but because some people honestly want to help make things better.
I see all over the boards that people sympathize for the commandos, even the guys from other classes. Im sure the pistoleer correspondent wouldnt mind getting their new skills of duel wielding pistols and holstering pistols on hold for a little bit if it would help the commandos get some attention. And after commando is fixed to a playable scale, im sure the commando correspondent wouldnt mind putting some small stuff on hold to help another borked class get an improvement. But we cant have this "everyone for themselves mentality." This is US vs THE DEVS.
