Thread: OK guys, we need a new correspondent.
Obviously you must have heard the old correspondent for commando quit due to him feeling as if the devs ignored him. This is a big problem and yet another set back for us. We need a new correspondent, and we need one fast.
A correspondent is obviously supposed to act as a medium between the community, and the devs to help solve issues. This takes someone who is considerably organized, level headed, fair, firm, and understanding who has the best interests of the game and BALANCE in mind. Its not an easy job. And with a class as broken as commando is, it just makes things that much more difficult.
Since a correspondent is supposed to be a representative of the community, I feel it is only fair that the correspondent be someone who is 100% dedicated to this class, through the good and the bad, and wont quit on the community no matter how bad it gets, or how long it takes. This person should also be voted on by the community, as they should have the right to vote on who will best represent THEIR issues.
I would like to apply for this job. Anyone whos worked with me before knows I am as stubborn as they come. Commando is the class for me, broken or not, and I will do WHATEVER it takes to make sure it gets fixed. After reading all the grief given to the last correspondent, it is blatently apparent that us commandos need a correspondent who will fight for us tooth and nail until our profession is finally brought into balance and functional. I believe I would make a great correspondant and would not let our issues get pushed aside or ignored easily.

If you can think of anyone else who would make a good commando correspondant, lets get this going. We arent going to make any progress by sitting around and letting the devs further ignore us due to the lack of a correspondant.
The issues have been presented. SOE has done minimal. We don't need a correspondent, we need a patch.

No more correspondents till the profession is FIXED! We hada **edit** good correspondent, and he left out of frustration. Dont blame Garibaldi, blame the Devs and the suits at SOE.
And how are we going to get a patch without a correspondent? Lets assume we get lucky? Im not willing to bet on that one considering the devs track record thus far.
What if we do get a patch? HUH? Then what? Do you think that it will fix everything thats borked? WRONG! Look at the patch we are getting now, its pathetic. There isnt near enough changes in it to bring the commando class into balance, not by a long shot.
So what happens if we get another patch and its still well below par? Then what? If we dont have a correspondent, who is going to express these concerns to the devs? NO ONE! Cuz the devs wont listen to the community, the devs listen to the correspondent. So the devs will go on, thinking that the class is fine totally oblivious and blind to the problems actually going on in game.
Its a lose lose situation not having a correspondent. We need one who isnt afraid to get up there, in the devs faces and get some answer. We need someone who will get in their face and say **edit** IS GOING ON HERE! And we need one who will get back to the community and get the community involved in what is going on.
These things I promise to you. But boycotting and refusing to get another correspondent is just stupid. It will only ensure more neglect to our profession.

Name one thing you can do that Garibaldi didnt do? Besides perhaps kissing the devs backsides in hopes to make yourself look good to the commando population.
No offense man, but Garibladi DIDNT ask for the job, they gave it to him remember. Why did they give it to him, cause he posted very intelligent concerns about the commando profession and it peaked their attention. He never once posted anything on here asking for the job.
So if anyone wants to give him any crap about cancelling they need to remember he never asked for the job and was willing to help us by communicating with the devs about ALL our concerns. He felt like his words were ignored, so he left and if you havnt noticed most of the commando population supports him in his decision.
Your post seems more like an attempt to turn a bad situation to your advantage and tryin g to take some sort of leadership postion of a group of people who dont WANT a leader, they want their **edit** profession fixed. There is nothing you can do that Garibaldi didnt attempt to do. We posted suggestions and our concerns and Garibaldi laid them all out in the open to the devs and us. They turned a deaf ear to him so what makes you think you can do any better? Bribe them with candy?

Ive been a commando since 3 weeks after release, and yes, i know all the issues and I know that the old correspondent did report the issues to the devs. You can take your foot out of your mouth now son.

Or were you so blinded by your own self gratification with your pathetic attempt to flame me that you read right past that part? But that doesnt mean he couldnt have tried harder. Did you personally send every one of his emails through your isp so you can know how many times he contacted how many people over how many days to know that he was REALLY doing a good job? No, i dont think you did, so now it is YOU who is ignorant.
Anyways, im done playing with this child. If anyone actually WANTS to get something accomplished with this class instead of whining about how its broken and how "this game is not worth our time and shouldnt be played", lets actually vote on a new corespondent who will do his best to get something accomplished.
In the meantime, guys who have the opinion that this class isnt worth it, should just stop posting in this forum and change their character to a dancer or a chef or something, because obviously they dont care about anything other than their own self gratitude. Personally, I want to see this class fixed, and im not willing to bet all my chips on sitting around whining and griping and flaming in the forums THAT THE DEVS DONT READ, thinking that its going to solve any problems.

Dude your not qualified and your proving it now. You getting pissed off cause your being criticized. Your first post seems to be self-fullfilling and each of your other posts seems to be very defensive and angry. A corespondent cannot post like that so you just disqualified yourself.
A true leader needs patience and understanding even in the face of the most severe criticism.
You know what makes me think I can do better? You said it yourself, Garibaldi didnt ask for the job, he didnt want it, it was just given to him. That alone leads me to believe that maybe, just maybe, although he may be intelligent and "the holy grail" in your eyes, that he didnt have the drive and dedication to actually see things through to the end. He never asked for it, like you said, he wanted it fixed and had intelligent, well thought out and honest answers but whos to say he had the tolerance level for the job to begin with? NONE of you can vouch for that unless you happen to be his RL best friend.
What differs me from him is because I WANT the job. And no, i dont want it for some self gratifying leadership role. I want it because I want this game to succeed, and I want to see the commando class fixed. Its as simple as that. I already have my own self gratifying leadership job, its called the real life business that I own at age 24. Thats gratification, not this. This is me willing to put forth my efforts to help this game succeed, nothing more.
Maybe if people stop flaming and being so pessimistic we can get down to business here. But if you are doing this just to see how much crap I can put up with, bring it on. For the past 4 years ive run a 100+ member gaming clan and community that gives me more crap daily than you can ever dish out. And thats 100% sacrifice with very little reward. So much for me doing this to be some great leader huh?

The amount of time you've played the profession has little to do with how qualified you are. All the issues have been moaned about day in and day out and SOE doesn't care about what correspondents have to offer. But wait, you knew that. You've read every post.

Pessimism is good when a critical eye is needed. Optimists pretend that everything will just be OK and will resultantly not work that hard. Pessimists pretend that everything is going to blow up like an atomic bomb and will work 10x as hard to fix something.

He shouldn't have to try hard. He's not getting paid. SOE should be grateful that someone such as him was willing to donate theit time to help them.

I posted a very unique and lengthy perspective on what a commando should be. That's significantly more than you've done and I don't even want the job.
Since you know EXACTLY how to get results you should also know that talk is cheap. If you're so dedicated why don't you offer up something that shows your dedication?
whoever the new correspondent is needs to go in another direction, including weapon ar's, defensive mods in OUR tree, look to add effects to grenades..ect, not saying all these things will be given to us, but bringing them up is important non the less. They've already made it quite clear on what they won't be fixing from Q's post.

Dude your the most egotistical person I have seen in this game yet. Everything your posting is how great and wonderful you are. Nobody CARES lol. You obviously just want the job to pat yourself on the back somemore and look in the mirror and tell yourself how wonderfull you truely are.
