it really does need AP3 imo it's the only acid gun in the game without AP and it's called the Heavy acid rifle, my acid carbine has medium AP

The acid rifle should be a companion to the flamethrower. As I see it now, it's just a weapon that we, as commandos, have to grind the skilltree for but have no use for. Here's a couple of my ideas.


-Make it similar damage to a flamethrower with similar HAM.

-Give it Light or Medium Armor piercing.

-Give it a poison DOT. Let's make it a biological weapon. This, I believe, would add some nice depth to the game that wasnt there before.

i agree. I'd like to see the HAR as a Rifle type weapon with it having a 40-50 ideal range.

It should have a medium AP and then it should do ACID or POISON DoT.

Im pretty new to the commando profession and and Im currently 3,3,4,2. I was absolutely shocked at how dreadful the HAR is. On first glance the actual weapon looks very cool, great big cannon that should surely be able to cause some serious damage. However how wrong was I? Its pitiful. The basic attack sounds like an anaemic pistol and the special is green flame (argh). I expected at least a jet of liquid acid and some glop splashing around like a glop grenade. And of course its very slow and doesnt compare in any way to the damage dealt by a flamer. This is just a means of bleeding more skill points in order to get to master. This weapon imo has pretty much no place in the commando tree. Even if they combined it with FT tree would I use it? Not in its current state. This weapon needs a complete rethink both in terms of animation and function. It needs armour piercing and a DoT for it to ever be of any use. And for God sake beef up the animation it really is pathetic.

I think AP3 is really pushing it. The only non-consumable gun in the game with AP3 at the moment is the T21, and the AP3 almost doubles the damage it can do. Giving the HAR AP1 would bring it up on par with the BH's LLC, and it would give the weapon a reason to exist (an AP1 HAR would work much better on armored opponents than an AP0 Flamethrower).

i know the feeling about hunting high heat low acid mobs.


my suggestion would be to simply add a poison dot to the acid rifle and combine the tree to the flame tree. from that leave the weapon alone.


then, for the 4th tree in the commando line, give us a heavy machine gun. it would fire metal projectiles at a high rate of speed (high for commando weapons that is) and its specials would be machine gun cone 1-3. make the weapon only useable when compleatly stationary and no fireing before you have stood still, kneeled or laid down for 2 seconds. let the weapon do kinetic damage at around 200-400 damage per attack and a base speed of around4 seconds and give it medium armor piercing.


then we would have 4 major weapons at our disposal that did 4 different damage types (blast, heat, acid, kinetic) as well as some armor piercing, and we wouldn't be unbalanced in PvP as most armor is highly resistant to kinetic damage.






if you are jedi and you complain, i have one question for you. how many remember permadeth, kenetic damage lightsabers, and lightsaber TEFs?

ya but I think we need more viable LP the ones now are terrible unless your a pistoleer.

Gah, just give the HAR an acid DoT and AP 1 or no dot and AP 2 or 3

If the HAR was fixed i might think about useing it out in the "field" right now i use purly FT to level up, but im lookin for a change.

i think makeing it abel to use riflemen specails would make another LP that dos nothing for the commando so thats out of the question


what i realy love to see hapen is the har flame thrower and beam rifle all put into the flame thrower line nad make the stats on the har and the beam rifle like this

It would be cool to use rifle specials. However, a master rifleman and master commando would be pretty deadly with a HAR. Although, since at the moment it has no AP that would be a pretty big factor. I don't know the exact formula but will a HAR with 900 dmg do more or less dmg to an armored opponent than a DXR-6 with 500 dmg. HAR is AP0 and DXR-6 is AP2. Something tells me the DXR-6 will still be better and if so then there is no reason to not allow HAR rifleman specials since anything worth fighting has some form of armor rating.

As commandos, we are lucky if we even get the short end of the stick.


The HAR should be better than the LLC. Bounty hunters are only dabblers in heavy weapons. We are the real deal.


I think the flame thrower should have AP1...and the HAR should have AP2.
