Well the game just turned alot less interesting, heh so i should just sit back pay my bill and hope for the best.

Iguess we got the answer we were looking for "we dont care" and "youll suck and youll learn to like it"

Well i wont, if this game turns a hint more boring ill just quit, i need my sparetime for classes anyway.

Look around, I might be behind you.

Well finally they answer.

Seems the class isn't broken. It was DESIGNED this way.

Sure makes my decision to not pursue this career a LOT easier.

"The dev(s) who put together the commando class needs to be taken out into the street and shot. "

CORRECTION: The devs who put together the commando class ned to be taken out into the street and SHOT AT 0.0 RANGE WITH A BAZOOKA. Just so they can see the effectiveness of their class, up close and personal like.

Good luck future commandos. I'm a go play a class that works.

Wow! Can't believe this post. I have been lurking the commando board...not saying a thing hoping that this would get resolved. All of this really seems to be a slap in the face. Now I am asking myself why I spent the time and effort to get there. Ok...I have made novice commando. When weilding any heavy weapons...I have a 50/50 chance of getting my butt kicked by a gnort. Oh wait!!! They said they are increasing some of the specials....I can take out the durni's now.

In a way, I can relate to you guys. During beta, I played a Commando (I am currentlya Bounty Hunter). However, when I first grabbed novice, they hadn't even added any heavy weapons yet, and advancement was completely based off of combat xp. A little while after, they made some anouncements regarding the profession, stating they were adding in Flame Throwers among other weapons to the profession. After they did add them however, I was so dissapointed, I completely dropped the class. The weapons did so little damage and hit so little that I was literally being incapped by gorgs when doing missions with it.

However, this situation is much more severe, since you have to pay to play. I came to post here to show my support to this profession. You guys indeed got the short end of the stick, and I know I myself would be just as frustrated, if not more frustrated then many of the people in this post.

Good luck guys

I laughed a lot when I read that for some reason.

I sent Q an angry, yet controlled PM to him just now. Hopefully justice will be had.

What the freak! If giribaldi hadn't quit this morning he sure as hell would have quit now.

Hell I have more then half a mind to not even bother now. You completly change the class what a week before beta ends, whipe 2/3 of the population and make them start over. Barely had anytime to get or listen to feed back, we all start from zero. Commandos are now becoming present in ever increasing numbers and finally able to actually test your ideas, not a single commando has ever said a single thing that they do is worth anything a freaking artisan can do. And Q comes in here and "kicks us in the nuts".

What the hell is a cert going to do on a rare weapon that has horrible stats?!?!?!!?!?!?!

Specials will now do more damage, well they better kill in one shot and better be used on non BAF mobs cause guess what the are shorter thenmelee range weapons and if you miss you can kiss your ass goodbye.

While we are on it the T21 has a 0 ideal range too right, i imagine that that along with our heavy acid RIFLE is suppose to be a short range weapon as well. Cause you know short range firearms look more like pistols....

What the heck are you guys doing in there. The whole time during beta I was impressed with how you guys listened and reacted to feedback. Especially when a whole group of people said this thing you just did sucks worse then anything could possibly suck. Now in live when we say things suck worse then it can possibly suck all anyone seems to do is contradict one another.

I have an great idea, pick a new coorespondant, get a meeting set up in your office and get a conference all going or something because textual communication isn't working. heck maybe do some sort of live chat or something with a group of commandos but do something because there is a huge disconnect.

This just can notstand. I'm having second thoughts about staying in this game due to this collosal SNAFU, and I'm not even a commando. This issue is the #1 reason that SWG is going to get bad word of mouth in the weeks or months to come. Great job SoE, you just shot yourself in the foot. At range 0.

While I'm not a commando,

I agree that these special ranged weapons should have greater chance to hit close up, and less chance to hit far away. It's like an RPG for heavens sake, it is not a rifle which is easy to aim at something far away!

I'm not military or anything, just my humble point of view.

The devs must of put a lot of though into those sentences! we only gave them three weeks to give us a reply not a freaken 'fixed" "intended to be this way"

they could of done that in 3 seconds, which is probably what they did - go figure

I'm going to make a simple suggestion to the Developers:

Go play one or both of these games:

http://www.eidosinteractive.com/games/info.html?gmid=132

Commandos 1

http://www.eidosinteractive.com/games/info.html?gmid=116

Commandos 2

Once you have done that then look at the ideal idea of a commando in a game and then look at your idea of commandos in your game see if you notice a difference.
