Thread: Nerf the CM thread...Please put ur complaints here and not make new threads...
"Guys... I'm pretty sure that the fact that Elenora is a Master Doc does not effect her ability to make better Posion/Diseases."
ALL components: infection, resiliance, dispersal are a BASE medic skill. When you become a doctor you get more points to experiment with these BASE CM ONLY components, A Master Doctor could get a FAR better resiliance result than a Master CM. A master Doc gets 10 points to exp on CM only components, a Master CM will only have 5 points to exp on CM only components if they didn't put points into doctor.
Tasha have your tried to buy the actually components rather than buying the schmatics? Also if u tried schematics using a factory it works...just add the doctor to ur factory list then have him load the schematic then remove it yourself.
I'm starting toget very worried about this variation in damage across servers. Now I will fully admit that when I posted this thread, I was assumingand more and more I find it was a poor assumption, that master CMs on other servers were getting similar results.
As the dicussion has expanded, its obvious that 1) all CMs arent having the same results across servers, although many of the CMs are having similar results (Sekir and PeanutButter amoung them). 2) The large arount of damage that im dealing out is due tofact that I'm using my own doctor crafted components for my meds (if this is true then this can be acceptable in the theory that i have spend my skill points wisely into a secondary class that has complemented my primary well) 3)Mind damage is now abigger issue than pre patch because of the damage reduction. Prepatch was all about 1hits and healing was in effective. Now post patch, damage is reduced and healing is extremely power, hence the abuse of mind damage become more pronounced...
As for my calls for fixes/nerfs...I do think mind damage needs to go.Ingeneral to all classes....Or mind healing needs to be put in.I know alot of CMs wouldnt mind losing theMind dotline in exchanged for a balance HAM damagesystem that will remove a unhealable targetable pool.
LOS may need to be re-examined. I personally would love to keep non LOS going, but I can see how many people would find LOS unfair and overpowering...This is a area open for discussion...
H and A Dots are not overpowered compared to the Mind damage. So nerfing damage on dot across the board would basically destroy H and A dots as an effective weapon because it is healable...
Future concerns...
1) If it is a matter of server resources that are overpowering the mind dots, then its just a matter of time before a good shift of resources makes poison on various servers too powerful. Thus the potential for use of overpowered mind damage remains.
2) If its a matter of using doc crafted components, it will only be a matter of time before MCMs just buy their components off doctors
3) Considering these are base packs, what will mind poison dots be like ifadvanced components in our line are actually fixed?!
I agree, and those are issues i've been trying to bring up. The resources truely give us a varying stages of damage. As for getting a doctor to craft your schematics, that's easier said than done. He has to have access to your resources. Is this really worth it? I WOULD like to seeis the infection, resiliance, and dispersal mechs become a novice combat medic schematic, that would help us a lot, instead of it being the base medic schematic, which gives doctors more points to play with them. I strongly feel there needs to be a los on poisons/diseases. I also feel doc's cures need to be more effective. I do not in any way feel they should nerf the damage. Our "weapons" are a limit supply. If they reduced them to the 75% rule, would you honestly use them in pvp? no, why would you waiste the things? Course, maybe that would make diseases more useful, but disease take so long to go into effect, shrug... Also I think the reason you are getting so much more range on your heals than I am is because you are a master doctor. You can play with the bio's and chems more for ranged heals. Another solution for that would be to give combat medics a dif sort of base componets. Course, this could be intended, you give up a lot of things when you go master combat medic and master doctor. It could also be that soe intended you to buy schems from doctors to give them more sellable items.
If there is no difference between the 3 bars of HAM why even have it.They will also have to rebalance all thoselow damage specials that rely on mind damage to be viable, which is the entire Rifleman line.
If we're going to nerf every class that has had a master level character ever took out a group go ahead and nerf the carbineer (AE posture down + bleed), pistoleer (disarming shot 2 AE KD), smuggler (AE delay attack, basically AE KD without the animation), bounty hunter (back when you could spam LB), Creature Handler. Ive seen all of these take out multiple people in PvP.
Actually nerf me too, im a doctor and i've taken out multiple people in PvP. Being buff enhanced and popping a Pixie for 3k health and 3k secondaries and being able to heal for more than 1kgave me an edge in a few fights. And actually the patch helped me out since i can spam high cost KD shots still and others can't.
The main issues here are not CM issues, they are LOS and TEF issues.
Is the CM a deadly class if used in the right situations? I hope so, since that's the only way you can have a tactical game.
Well, I would ask all the CMs that are asking to nerf their own class to try to play it without what many consider to be exploits. Notably, the LOS. I don't think you should be able to damage your target if you don't have LOS on him.
Elenora, who is leading the nerf crusade, actively exploits LOS to get cheap points. Elenora attacks people time and time again while they are resting in the cantina. She runs behind buildings and brags of taking down people without them firing a single shot. Then after all the cheap exploits for hours on end, comes here to beg for nerfs.
Try playing the class as if LOS fix was in and then see if you are still the 'god of pvp' you claim to be. First time someone gets a knockdown shot off on you, you are toast. The only reason they don't right now is because of cheap tactics and LOS.
I am just afraid they are going to nerf the poison first due to your crying how powerful you are, then after LOS is in, we are really screwed.
Go play 1 single day with LOS and with poisons made with CM skill (not doc skill). Then come back and tell us if there was any difference in your godliness.
Make a petition for a CM nerf and I will sign.
Poison and disease are totally overpowered, specially the mind poisons, and CM shouldnt poisonout ofline of sight, I got mind poisoned from a guy inside a building! what **edit** is it? Thats very lame!
A mind poison hitting by 270 dmg each tick to mind!!! Thats unbalanced! All mind damage should be halved for all professions because isnt healable! And allow smugglers or doctors to craft some sort of medicine to prevent poisons or instantly heal poison without skill like pet stimpacks.
And mind bleeds of riflemans should be nerfed also.
- we are not alkting only about experimentation here, but about assembly as well
- we are not only talking about p/d subcomponents here but about ranged and area stims subcomponents as well
- we are not only talking about subcomponents here but about final combines as well because the subcomponents directly take effect in the final combine, giving the base values for charges, range, area, ease of use, potencyand effectiveness.
i am preaching this since sometime in beta that CM crafting is handicapped with the skill of 50 in assembly and experimentation that we get from Medic crafting.
LoS is not the issue here. It's the game mechanics nottaking structures into accountand therefor not limiting us in that regard.
If we are made required to have LoS, we can as well all pick up BE and start making tissues because every combat class has a knockdown that disables us to apply anything on first hit, except riflemen who directly attack the pool that we need to apply anything in first place. CH pets/faction pets even warp directly to us if we are hiding behind a wall to apply anything on the controller.
If poisons are too powerfull made with the proper skills than they do need a reduction in PvP, but as of now this only seems true for mind poisons.
So if you are asking for fixes here, ask for the right ones, not for nerfs in the wrong places, damnit.

and btw, that TEF on cloning thing is not a CM bug, everyone can attackhis DBer after he cloned. the only issue there is that we don't get a TEFthan as it is.
fixing the TEF bug willget rid ofthe CM exploit.
/nuff said.
to repost the structure problem:
the game needs to recognise if one of the persons is in a structure and apply some simple rules:
- both player have to be in the same structure or not in one at allto apply a p/d
- the interrior of starports needs to count as part of the structure (sorry, no more sampling while waiting on the shuttle.. the Galactic Travel Comission payed enough on repairs already)
- if 1 player is in a structure entrance, or if both people are in a structure, require line of sight or cut the range on applying by 2
did i miss out on any of your tactics Elly?

And anyway, in response to what people are saying about CMs being 'invincible'... well, in PvP, CM's my offense, Doc's my defense. Doc skills make me far more effective in PvP than my CM skills. Hell, I'd even venture to say a Doc/Pistoleer is the most powerful character in PvP right now... have any of you seen the master pistoleer's area KD?
You know disarming shot is gonna be changed soon. It was on the devs response to the pistoleer line...
Disarming Line isnt going to be KD and AOE KD, its gonna be damage to your opponent's weapon...
My understanding is it will nto do damage to the opponent just totally wreak your opponent's weapon...
Hence Pistoleers will lose ranged and ranged AOE KD...and onlu have pistol whip and PW2 for KD...
And doctor/pistoleer and BH are about the only class that can stand up CM right now and only in an open battlefield...in a city, CM will pretty much own any class using non LOS...
actually alot of the times im not even applying from inside a building but just outside of it then running in to get back to cover...if not that Im using a building for cover not actually attcking from inside the building but using the building as a barrier to make them run around it to kill me.
at first it was easy to toss dots out of the star port since the majority of people had no clue what was going on...
once they figured it out it was just a matter of finding other buildings to hide behind and poison...
