Thread: Should Bounty Hunters get free Medic skills?
I am also against this for a variety ofreasons:
One, the BH get enough of a gripe from other professions regarding our weapon lines and this is just adding fuel to the fire.
There is a reason we have 250 skill points and different professions. I would love to be a Master Doctor and Master BH, but I can't, so I have to make choices.
There is no guarantee that people will spend the 20 points in ranger etc. People would use it in other combat lines disrupting the balance in the game (not that we are there yet).
People that want this just are not thinking about the game overall, and by the way from what I have seen on our board majority is not for this either.
At this point my personal view is, lets fix everything broken, and then worry about enhancements.
Myself and a lot of other BHs are againt this idea as well.
It is unrealistic to expect it to happen.
This is the stupidest idea I have ever heard.
I've got a better idea.
Lets take a vote for what Bounty Hunters will ask for next. I'll present 2 options
1) BH Combat Drugs (from smuggler)
2) BH Weapon Powerups (from Artisan)
Oh, and another thing -- By the time electricnomad had posted this reference, the Bounty Hunter correspondent had already dropped the issue because of the negative feedback from medic classes.
-c.
If the Devs give BH medic skills I want an /immunity skill from all BH damage. That means any player whose got at least novice bounty hunter will do 0 damage to me. Yeah, that sounds cool.
Hey look, a BH! *hits /immunity button*

Well truthfully when you do take the bounty hunter line. That is what the last 33 points are for. That would like me asking for a bleed shot in the doctor line so that I can do more damage. If they want healed from damage then they should find a medic/doctor/combat medic to heal them. They choose to go the bounty hunter route. As we choose to go medec/what ever. So I say spend the points and quit trying to make other classes not what they are supposed to be. Yes Bounty hunter may take a long time to get up to Master level. That is not the point. With the same logic provided any master proffession should be allowed to have medic skills in their tree, regardless of how many points it takes to get there.
If theBounty hunter gets medic skills then a every proffesion would have valid excuse to get medic skills then that wouldlimit our proffession in the usefullness of a group. No longer would be looked for some one to group with us but as a luxury and no longer as a reguired member of the group.
And truthfully what is a bounty hunter going to do with those 33 points. Not like you need to run faster. You want to put them in another elite master tree? Come on... after going to a character builder you can get 2/1/3/1 in the medic tree... What you want a bit of enterainer or maybe some artisan? Ugh.. After realizing what you can get in Medic. Eh...
So short anser is No. The long answer is no way in.... You get the idea.
Anyways good luck. And I hope the BH's don't get it.
Would I like to have healing abilities with out investing points in Medic? Yes.
Do I think I deserve this? No.
Not all bounty hunters are behind our new correspondant, Wepps, and his ideas. I, myself, am going to give him a bit more time before passing judgement on him. Some of us actually like the class the way it is, we just want our bugs squashed; like everyone else.
All that being said, you are right, don't give healing abilities to any other class. If you want to heal, take Novice Medic. Other wise, kwitcherbichin.
If BH's were to get free Medic skills then why shouldn't my TKA/Doctor get free Scout skills? It is aggrevating that we have to spend points in the Scout tree just to be able to group effectively. The most widely played classes (BH, CH) run fast uphill because of their Scout prereqs so it is tough to keep up with them when grouping. I'm sure there are other examples such as this one.
If you choose to master one or more elite professions then you should have to sacrifice in some other area. It only makes sense.
This frees up enough skills to go pursue Ranger skills to track humanoid targets, and allows the Bounty Hunter the ability to heal in combat, reducing the need to change all Bounty Hunter Mark cons.
... So this guy wants us to go to the freezer, get some ice cream, put it in a bowl. Grab a spoon from the drawer walk to the couch place it in our left hand and proceed to feed him with our right? I'm not interested in that. This game is about choices. You can choose to do Humanoid Tracking or you can choose to do Healing. Everyone complains that they 'HAVE TO' solo. You don't. When you created your character you were not instantly set in your path. It took time and decisions on where you wanted to go. If you are a bounty hunter then you make decisions and you do not 'HAVE TO' solo your missions. You do so by choice. As for the **edit** that brought up spelling/grammatical errors, that just shows you have been outwitted and are feeling threatened. Don't bother to reply to this, I'll eat you alive. And as for electricnomad (i think?) I know you didn't write that, so don't take it as such
