Thread: BHs lobbying to get medic skills build into class

How about you do some BH missions then you can say things like that (I can say that since I have done some medic stuff :-P )
I have done plenty of the BH camps with a friend of mine, I was just hanging out helping him. Fortunately he and I get along well and he kicks me some cash to help with meds etc. Obviously you are too busy hoarding away to your first million to care. As far as going through all of 3 trees across the board in medic....whoopty frikkin do. That's nothing. Try going through all the crafting trees in Medic, Doc and CM then get back to me about walking in my shoes. You know nothing about what being a real Doc is all about. Go back to polishing your LLC and rake in that cash Mr 840k. I spend 75k a day in maintenance and buying resources to keep ingrates like you healed up and in the fight. As far as Kettemoor is concerned, I hope all healers there boycott your selfish A$$. I wouldn't heal you, your brother, your parents or the b1tch you took to the prom.

Hey, Ease up all. This is a discussion, not a bitch session. We obviously disagree. Not like I have a vote or anything, but if they did give you that ability (and why not novice Dancer as well for that matter), then I unfortunately would enter that hateful group of Nerf zealots.
Do they need to balance the classes? sure. We've all come to the conclusion the launched this game too early. It lacks on many fronts, and is fun on many others. Is it normal for games (or any software for that matter) to launch with bugs? Of course. Look at Microsofts security flaws in XP. Do i feel the devs are completely ignoring us? Nope. because they launched too early they have way too many issues to fix. Thy are also a little too ambitious by trying to launch player cities and Mounts by late October/Early November.
So in truth, I'd rather have the devs focus on fixing bugs, adding more content, mounts, and player cities, rather than spend time tweaking the classes.
Oh... and the CSR is Abysmal.
"i know what you go through", seriously, that cracks me up... how many advanced components have you crafted so far having walked a mile or two in our shoes as a novice medic? solid delivery shell? infection amplifier? chemical release duration? dispersal mechanism? biological effects controller? any of the others? did you get the resources via fed ex? how much time did you spend in pvp burning through resources and not just leisurly heal somebody up in a tavern?
you are, by now, just arguing for arguings sake (spelling, i know)... this is getting silly. you will not get a healing capability (and as i mentioned you should be happy about it to keep even more bandwaggonhoppers out of your ever so popular profession) just as we will not get a surveying capability. you can argue for it all you want... unless you want 90% of this already broken game to be BHs with selfhealing abilities you'd better start worrying about other things...
anyhoo i am outta here, discussing with ONE bh about the benefits this would or would not bring him or his class is just 5 miles beyond pointless (especially in this board here)... talk to the hand...
shard *shakes head*
Umm... no not at all. Like I said I tip 1K to anyone who heals me (regardless of how small a heal) same for entertainers. I buy droids etc... The few people I have asked have not been interested in the trips - rather craft at their factory.
"As far as going through all of 3 trees across the board in medic....whoopty frikkin do. That's nothing"
I didn't say it was - I said that I had done some time seeing what it is like to be a medic. I got all those skill by accident (just helping people out)... same as I got engineering in artisan by making traps and camps. I wasn't out to get them... but I figured why not give it a try.
"Try going through all the crafting trees in Medic, Doc and CM then get back to me about walking in my shoes"
I've done enough crafting to know I don't want to do any more.
"I spend 75k a day in maintenance and buying resources to keep ingrates like you healed up and in the fight"
Which is why I tip (hopefully) well (if you think I should tip more let me know - seriously). If I sell things to doctors/CM I take what they offer - and one person I told it was too high. I don't even need the money from selling them (but it does take a bit of time to gather) so to some people I give things for free - its not like I need them anyways and it gets me better stuff.
I'll also pay for cloning fees for people if they don't have enough etc... it isn't like I am being tight with money.
"As far as Kettemoor is concerned, I hope all healers there boycott your selfish A$$. I wouldn't heal you, your brother, your parents or the b1tch you took to the prom."
Still trying to figure out how I am selfish but hey whatever dude.
shush now... out of our forums... shush!!! *shakes fist*
what is the point in a ompwhatever vs CMs united thread? none. zip. zero. zilch. nada. nichts. rien.
won't change a single smidgen. move along, nothing to see here.
I can see the riposte coming gnuut... he'll ignore all of you just said (valid points all) and concentrate on the "drop medic once you get MBH" phrase stating that noone really listens to him and that he wants to do some investigation once he has MBH (as he has stated above somewhere)... (how that prevents him from keeping novice medic will forever be a riddle)

gimme flamethrower, gimme mounts, gimme speeder bikes, gimme x-wings, gimme medic, gimme heavy weapons, gimme WoW, gimme a friggin million dollars... NOW!
I definatly wouldn't say left and right... but I am nit meiserly.
"then hire a medic and be done with it nuff said."
Already showed how much this would cost. To illustrate it lets use that 75000 number. Say that person wanted to hire me and it takes him two hours to do all the harvester stuff. So he wants my time for two hours. I can make 33000 an hour doing rebel drstry missions out if moeina (this is the only kind of noin-BH mission I do so I can't say anything about another type). So he is going to have to pay me 66000 to come along + travel (that is what I was saying with my post on the numbers. Basically he has just doubled his costs. The same sort of thing goes for me hiring a medic - assuming no other income. Difference is I would be able to fight - the medic would not.
"Yes some Docs would rather be crafting..why? cuz once you get into the tiresome rhythm of that BS you can't stop. OR...the last hunting party they went on gypped them so hard they are totally out of meds to be hired on by YOU. 75% of the time I'd say it's the latter."
Well that sounds pretty freaking lame to me - you guys should come up with a better system... (not that isn't meant to sound condecending or anything - sorry if it comes across that way - I can't think of a better way to put it).
"You haven't seen jack as far as crafting till you try to get the advanced resources to make better meds just so you can throw down better heals to that a$$hat spamming specials left and right in a hunting group."
Thats why I pay medics who I do go with (I ran into a doctor and ranger one time and we teamed up for a while - it was very good - we did a few things... I even offered to front him the money for a factory because his PA would not - that last point is just an dig to the person that basically called me cheap). Why exactly would you group with people like that? (again not mean in a condecending way)
"Would you rather do medical crafting or investigation? choose one or the other and keep in mind the fact that most medic/docs/CMs don't have access to the kind of moolah a BH pulls in."
Clearly investigation - I chose that as my profession. Also I make about 4000-8000 cash an hour now... once you factor out costs. And I honestly don't care about the cash... what am I going to spend it on? The money issue only came up because of people suggesting a group and I wanted to show how much it would cost me to do that. Somehow that turned into me, apparently, whining about money - and I am too stupid to not reply :-/
"Please don't try to come off as the self righteous BH who's out to help anyone and everyone."
I'm not - but calling me cheap is not "fair" (and the tip question was serious).
"If you aren't so tight with money, what's the problem with hiring out a newbie medic to toss some heals down on you when you need it? Why must you have your own healing?"
Please look back though the thread and see the total cost to me... it is far too much... wait let me summarise it... would cost about 1 million by the time I reach master BHer (the numbers are on page 2 if you care to look - the only variable is the cost I would have to pay the medic).
"You don't see healers going out trying to be the most self sufficient killing machine. If a healer wants combat skills they have to pay for them in the same way you have to pay for healer skills."
Ah ok well if that is selfish fine... though something else was meant by it.
Also take a look at what I said I would put my extra points into... it was nothing to do with combat - it was something that would help me take out BHer marks (Wayfaring - for the cammo packs). Not something that would make me some 1337 PvPer.
I fully agree with thae idea that people have to pay for the skills... the only issue here is that there is a particular case for BHers doing investigation that is an exception to the general "rule" of the game that you group to do stuff (and yes you can tell me to group - but it is not practical and if you can ignore that I can ignroe things as well - just looking at the next post after yours). The original post in the BHer forum was to try and make investigation more attractive to BHers.
What I have found out is that others think that such a thing is just an skill point grab to make us more 1337 PvPers... but the thing is that those people have no intention of doing the investigation line (no benefit to PvP). The other problem you (non-BHers) are left with is that there is not much of an advantage to being a Master BHer over a 0-4-4-4 BHers... so people will be pushing for some advantage to mastering... and if that advantage isn't something defencive it will be something offensive. However that is why I posted in this forum - to see what the deal was... now I guess I know.
"get some tissue and go post in the chef forum, they may have some sympathy there."
You just don't have a clue why I am posting in this thread. Also I wasn't the one who brought up money - I don't even care about it (but I am also not going to go in the hole 1 milion - I'll just keep novice medic thanks).
"I haven't walked a mile in your shoes nor do I care to. Don't try to come off like you have either."
That was a slight misunderstanding - I wasn't think of crafting - just the med centre suff when I said that... but yeah I have a good idea what crafting is all about... no thanks. But until you actually do a BH mission yourself (and actually it takes a few for the novelty to wear off) you are in the same boat as I am - clueless for that aspect of the other persons profession. So perhaps both groups should nto try and tell the other group what their other groups profession is like (I am sure that is hard to udnersatnd... but I don't feel like rewriting it).
"If you must have healing skills, keep your novice medic until you finish investigation and then surrender it. It's that simple."
Again - would you tell a master armorsmith to stop making armor? I won't be "done" investigation... that is the whole point of pmy profession.
"referrencing C, you know you could very well do this and many Master BHs before you have done just that. But you want to retain healing ability past the Investigation tree. That, 0smspiff0, is where we draw the line. Next you will want ability to cure poison and disease at Master.
Yes I want to retain healing - and if you look at a previous post the ability to heal my self with a less than stim-B charge two times in a half hour would be fine (can't reasonably do 2 marks in the same half hour period). I have no desire to cure poison or disease - my marks don't do that to me (at least not yet!).
Go re-read my posts in this thread - the logic (regardless of if you agree with it or not) is there. Nothing prevents me from keeping it - and that is what I will do.

Find a neutral or opposing faction BHer. Group with them. Try and attack thier mark - oh you can't.
The fact that people of the same faction in a group can fight is probably a bug.
Yes we are forced to solo.
Uhm, my one really good friend IS opposing faction and I can keep him healed just fine while he kills his mark..
And yes, the missions out of Endor for Jindas are 22-26k and, yes, he can solo them. I tag along to crack jokes and make money. Yes I can heal him and his pets (when he uses them) but it isn't that much of a necessity.
I have to go (it is Friday night an all.. :-) but... can you attack it? I wasn't talking about healing I was talking about fighting.
"Jindas are 22-26"
I thought you were talking about BH missions... oops.
I think you misunderstood - you can't group for bounty hunter missions not general missions.
It is supposed to be that a BHer is to only one that can take down a mark (and apparently can't get healed either - I don't know on that though since I have never had anyone with me when I do a mission) but there is a bug (I would think) where people in the same faction can fight the mark as well.
So if it is a neutral BHer then it is pure solo (no faction TEF bug getting in the way).
You keep saying you don't care about money yet you come back to the same issue, that you don't want to put yourself in the poorhouse trying to level yourself up. Welcome to the Healers world.
You keep saying that once you hit Master BH you plan to keep "investigating" your marks etc. If you were given some inherent class heal ability, what is to prevent you from using it while in PVP? This would make you the only Elite Combat class that can self heal without spending points in Medic.
How is that fair to the other combat classes? Don't you think that would imbalance BH? Don't you think more people would go BH just because they would get a freebie self heal?
You say you have to do these missions solo because of a TEF issue. Sounds like SOE needs to fix this TEF issue rather than start giving you our skills for free.
Last thing, "Again - would you tell a master armorsmith to stop making armor? I won't be "done" investigation... that is the whole point of pmy profession."
So now let's take an armorsmith. He needs Synthetic Cloth and Reinforced Fiber Panels made at Novice Tailor and Fieldwear 2, respectively. Using your logic, an armorsmith could argue that he should be able to make these two items without having to work up the Domestic or Tailor tree. After all even when becoming a Master Armorsmith, he will need these two components in mass quantities to make the more advanced armors. Now you have undervalued the tailors that busted their asses up those trees. You've completely negated the interdependability between a tailor and an armorsmith.
The same interdependability between healers and combat classes. Regardless of your goals as a Master BH you are still a combat class and as such you should depend on a healer. Don't like it? Spend the points and diversify yourself. You can't have your cake and eat it too you know....

"Did you know that if we heal you while fighting a mark they can then turn on us? Happened to me out in the field once. I already have it chronicled in the SWG Discussion forum."
You must have been the same faction as the BHer. If the BHer is neutral (or you are) then this does not happen. I would also say that is a bug that should be fixed.
"I understand the Investigation line is hard to accumulate xps for, but you shouldn't get healing init. You are investigators, not healers. Leave that to the ones that want to to it."
Sigh... this interdependece argument doesn't work - as you point out I can (and have) take nove medic and have no need of you. Where is the interdependence?
To not take novice medic and have someone come along for the 300+ hour trip is going to be rather expensive (see otehr post). There is no viable alternative but to take novice medic. Other classes do not have this "problem" as then can (legitimatly and always) group with other people.
Yes BH's are meant to solo and you have Novice Medic, so I'll ask to clear up this little debate.
Why do you need any kind of healing ability in the BH profession?
Is it because you don't have the points to get into CH after taking NM?
If the last question is the problem, I'm sorry but you've used all your skill points.
I'm not bothering to read the BH thread about this because the whole idea is rather silly.
