Thread: BHs lobbying to get medic skills build into class

"Yes BH's are meant to solo and you have Novice Medic, so I'll ask to clear up this little debate.

Why do you need any kind of healing ability in the BH profession?

Is it because you don't have the points to get into CH after taking NM?"

1) I have no desire to use pets (I persoanlly would dump extra points into Ranger wayfaring probably - to be able to use camo packs and thus be less detected while doing missions). And yes look that doesn't make me a move uber PvPer either... strange that I would want something that doesn't make me a more powerful PvP isn't it.

2) Ok you "force" creature handler in place of medic... same bitch (from me)... different day.

I don't recommend reading the BH thread either - they seem to want the ability to use stim-Bs - I think that is a bad idea.

"soley out of the desire to be 'uber l33t' ,rely on no one, group with no one, and treat no other players as equals"

Nice generalization.

1) we have to solo - it is no a desire to not group
2) if we all want to be uber elite why would I rather dump skill points inthe Wayfaring (to avoid NPC detection) instead of creature handler, pistoleer, etc...?
3) If I wasn't interested in equality I wouldn't have come here to provide my viewpoint and get yours.

"Makes us much less important - if BHer's then Commandos' then pistoleers can all heal themselves without sacrifice, why do we need medics in this game?"

I much prefer having a medic heal me - they do a far better job and it doesn't take away from my mind. My idea would not make me self-sufficeient - I would be less so - I still need wounds to be healed.

"I know you are specific on BH, but trust me, you would open up the floodgates for every combat class"

Your argument works fine EXCEPT for the part whre we have to solo... that is the issue. If the enforced soloing were taken out of the game it would not be an issue. No other profession has this "issue".

This is much less of a slipper slope that it appears because of the soloing aspect. It isn't that I WANT to solo it is the i HAVE to solo. Big difference.

"I knew what the rules were going in, so it's my choice and I take responsibility for that choice"

As did I - of course you all reailze the alternative that people will now be after though - to be more 1337 - we have very little optionas a MBH AND BMH doesn't get you all that much over a 0-4-4-4 BHer. The push will be on to add to MBHer at some point - and if it isn't medic then it will be offencive capabilities. So your desire to keep people from being 133t is actually going to help that. But I am fine with that since I'll get those abilities for free then.

"If you don't come to a medic for major wounds (yes you could do this on your own as a novice medic, but it would take a very, very long time), how can a doc make any money in the med lab, especially if he does not have a factory to sell them."

How does something that is less effective to Stim-Bs reduce my coming in for wound healing? I have NO desire to get anything other than a toned down stim-B. I have noveice medic now and I still go in for wound healing (and I tip 1K per person helping me).

"Other classes, including our own, will be (and have) asking for more skills so they don't have to surrender. For example, many of my CM brethren here want survey and more terrain negotiation. I would love to have those two items, but don't think I should."

I don't really want to get into what I think cprofessions that I am not part of have in the way of skills... but I will say this... the argument is not the same. You are able to reasonably buy or group to get the items you need - a BHer doing investigation does not. That is a very important difference (in my mind at least).

You didnt come here for our viewpoint. You've been ignoring every point we've been making with the same old "dduuurrrrr, we're meant to solo everything......" crap. Get over it. Bounty Hunter is not now nor will it ever be a healing class.

No. What I have mainly gotten is:

- group (can't for combat)
- group (can't for costs)
- you just wnat to solo. No I HAVE to solo (yes that is different than the above).
- get the costs lowered - sure we can all push for that since it effects every one
- get the marks easier - you wait 1 hour to fight a particular gnort on a particular planet and see how satisfying it is
- you just want to be 1337. If I wanted to be 1337 I would not be going for MBH - investigation does nothing for that and MBH doesn't get much more over 0-4-4-4.
- you want to deprive us of our worth. How? I technically have the skills I need already and am asking for a reduction of them that would require more dependence on you.

Nobody has clearly stated how this actually detracts from you. I don't want to heal others. I don't want to heal as well as you. I don't want to heal as much as you. I don't even want to heal as often as you. I don't want to pay you less money. I want to depend on you more than I do now.

"we're meant to solo everything"

Please point out where I have said that once in any thread that I have posted in... ever. I certainly did not say it in this thread. I have not implied it either. If you think I have please point it out.

I expect to hear no complaints from you when the others start seriously asking for poison darts that can be used on players... that is a natural extension to our class (trapping from scout) that can be applied to players without any sort of "you don't have that sort of ability" from before argument. Oh and that won't cost us any additional skill points to get.

"- group (can't for combat)"

Hire a medic.

"- group (can't for costs)"

Cry me a river cause you dont make mad cash when you hire a medic. Do a couple neutral destroys inbetween BH missions and problem solved along with some extra experience.

"- you just wnat to solo. No I HAVE to solo (yes that is different than the above)."

Hire a medic.

"- get the costs lowered - sure we can all push for that since it effects every one"

Go for it.

"- get the marks easier - you wait 1 hour to fight a particular gnort on a particular planet and see how satisfying it is"

So you want your missions easier and you don't. Make up your mind.

"- you just want to be 1337. If I wanted to be 1337 I would not be going for MBH - investigation does nothing for that and MBH doesn't get much more over 0-4-4-4."

So quit trying to become an entire group all in one player.

"- you want to deprive us of our worth. How? I technically have the skills I need already and am asking for a reduction of them that would require more dependence on you."

You're asking for 15 free skill points. I wanna drop novice artisan but I can't cause I need the survey for getting resources. It's your choice to take up novice medic or hire a medic.

"Nobody has clearly stated how this actually detracts from you. I don't want to heal others. I don't want to heal as well as you. I don't want to heal as much as you. I don't even want to heal as often as you. I don't want to pay you less money. I want to depend on you more than I do now."

Situation: we're in a group fighting, you're taking damage and I'm waiting for just the right moment to hit you with a stimpack. But wait......just as I'm about to throw a stimpack your health goes back up and I just sit there worthless the whole time.

"Please point out where I have said that once in any thread that I have posted in... ever. I certainly did not say it in this thread. I have not implied it either. If you think I have please point it out."

"No I HAVE to solo"

In that very same post. You don't have to solo. You want to. Otherwise you would hire a medic.

"I expect to hear no complaints from you when the others start seriously asking for poison darts that can be used on players... that is a natural extension to our class (trapping from scout) that can be applied to players without any sort of "you don't have that sort of ability" from before argument. **edit** are you talking about?

Talking to you is like talking to a brick wall. You are obviously just too lazy to hire a medic to tag along.

"Bite the bullet and hire a medic/doc/CM to come babysit you on a mission"

Ok, show of hands, how many of you would be willing to take an hour out of your life to heal someone two times? What would it cost? I would expect that I would have to pay the same cost that you can make in an hour - so what can you make in an hour. I have 830K in the bank right now - how many times could I hire you?

Right now medics get jack crap NOTHING for Faction points when doing faction missions if we only heal. A BH friend of mine and I decided we would help each other out. He'd get the insano missions and basically let me fight the mobs by myself with his pet tanking. I rake in some decent FP. Then I go follow him around and help him with his marks. We basically worked out a trade. Sure it takes some time and all but in a week we got him to Investigation 2, myself a few thousand FP and some rank to boot. Say what you want but if you want Master BH like my friend does, use some creativity and work out a compromise.

Otherwise yes you could just pay someone extra money to help you level up to Master. Then you could experience the crap that a healer must put up with.

Just for fun here is the calculation that shows what it would cost me to have a person with novice medic around:

34000 (XP needed) * 100 (money multipler) = 3,4000,000credits

130(number of missions per level) * 4 (number of levels) = 520 missions

4000 credits (average cost of the shuttle/space ship trips) * 520 (missions) * 2 (for each of us) = 4,160,000 credits

1000 (cloning cost) * 520 / 4 (I clone about one in 4 missions)* 2 (I want you want to be cloned too) = 260, 000 credits.

So 3,400,000 - 4,160,000 - 260,000 =-1,020,000 credits.

-1,020,000 credits / 520 = -1961.54

So an average COST to do missions of 2000 credits (oh and I forgot the, say, 150,000 credits for the droids needed to do the missions - server dependent cost though).

The shuttle travel average might actaully be too low as well (but I think it is about right).

Now add into the fact that I would still actually have to pay the person money... and lets say they can make 25000 credits doing missions in an hour * 300 hours = 7, 500, 000 more credits that I need to come up with.So now I lose an average of 16385 credits per mission.

All so I can get 2 * 520 = 1024 heals. Woo hoo. That makes the average heal cost me 8320... and let me guess I'd have to tip you too (that is a joke by the way).

Still think this is a reasonable option?

Hmm, considering a BH friend of mine who's only 3/4 to Master BH can SOLO level 25-30 missions for 26k creds each it sounds fair to me.. On the other hand, I, as a Master Combat Medic spending my few remaining points to get Novice Pistoleer can only solo 1000-1500 cred missions (level 11 missions).. Seems fair to me.

Whine to your little heart's content about how 'unfair' it is that BHs "have" to spend a whole extra 15 points to heal themselves.. You won't find pity here from CMs, we "have" to spend 15+ points for Novice Scout to harvest our organics and get enough Terrain Negotiation to keep up with the ppl we need to heal and we also "need" to spend another 15 points for Novice Artisan (Overall we easily need 12+ diff materials, both 'generic' and VERY specific for our medications/componants)..

Oh, BTW, it isn't like our resources to make the very same heal kits we use to keep you alive with are free either. Even if we harvest them ourselves I can gaurantee you our travel bill is just as high (or higher) as yours since we NEED resources from many planets SPECIFICALLY for advanced componants (Lokian wild wheat, Tatooine Fiberplast, Yavin Fiberplast, Talusian Water, etc)..

This still sounds much more like a whine that the BHs just want pretty much everything: less dependancy on other ppl/classes, the ability to solo incredibly high paying missions, the ability to completely destroy most classes in PvP...

You have the ability to throw poison - other in the BH profession what the ability to have humanoid traps that do the same. Don't complain when they ask for it.

Fine any CM on kettemoor want to tag a long for a few... lets go. Just PM me here and we can work out an arrangement (I don't know any unfortunalty). And if you, TheVeginator, are in kettemoor put your money (or rather my money) where your mouth is.

Oh... guess what - I did my time healing people in med centres when no medics were around. I also did my timne at the tuscan camp as one of the only people who had FA. And that was with about all 3s in novice medic so I wasn't all that fast. I know what you go through (or at least some of it)... the walk a mile in my shoes isn't all that compelling... sorry.

How about you do some BH missions then you can say things like that (I can say that since I have done some medic stuff :-P )

"mm, considering a BH friend of mine who's only 3/4 to Master BH can SOLO level 25-30 missions for 26k creds each it sounds fair to me."

The top payoung for level 3 is 10900 and change. For level 4 it goes to 13700ish I believe (not yet there). 26K is wrong (I believe that master make 25K - not sure). 25-30 difficulty? No 30-31 for the top payouts at my level. 25-30 is at novice.

"oh, BTW, it isn't like our resources to make the very same heal kits we use to keep you alive with are free either."

I know - that is why I supply medical professions with meat at whatever price they offer me. I actually go out of my way on Endor to snag at least 500 units every time I go.

My point wasn't about money - I started it with "just for fun" rember... it does show that the attitude of "just pay someone to go with you" is a faulty. Yes there are other things (such as get missions to augment the cash - but so far I have not found anyone who wants to go - they would rather craft their stim packs - and yeah perhaps it is my personality :-).

Find a neutral or opposing faction BHer. Group with them. Try and attack thier mark - oh you can't.

The fact that people of the same faction in a group can fight is probably a bug.

Yes we are forced to solo.
