I agree 100% people must realise that a CM is a Very handy Support player to a group, poisons and deseases may help your team to a faster victory, but area stims and mind healsoften doswing the power balance in your teams direction against abigger or strongergroup

having a MCM / M Doc in your team is like havingyour very own guardian angel

I there, I'm trying to make my char as 'CM proof' as possible, butI don't have the points for Doctor. I would like to know, what does 'Poison Resistence' do. Does it reduce the chance that a poison will 'stick' and start causing damage, or does it reduce the damage you take from each tick of a poison by a certain percentage?

How do the numbers work, does anyone know? Like if I have 50 poison resist am I 50% less likely to get poisoned, or do I take 50% less damage from the poison?

Thanks!

Are there any pages that describe the maths behind potency and resistence? Like if a poison has say 120 potency, how likely is it to affect someone with 0 poison resist, or with 25, or with 75 etc?

I have never found one.

Resistance reduces the change that the poison will affect you, and does not reduce the amount of damage you take. I'm not sure if there are any hidden modifiers, but I think that the poison resist is subtracted from the Potency on a poison, and that adjusted potency is used to calculate success or failure.

Anyone else want to confirm this?

As a note: It has been said that when someone throws a poison/disease at you and you RESIST it, you are not notified that someone even tried. As opposed to a "You resist the effects" message, you just get nothing. Due to this, many people have stated that poisons never miss. They are wrong.

Or I can bring a whole crew to TEF gangbang anything else you got but then again not the point...You make it sound like nothing can be done unless you pickup doctor yourself and I have proven otherwise. That's the point.

yeah? well my dad can beat up your mom.

I don't agree.

Not having one non-combat profession in your group make you hopeless in PvP is not an acceptable way of prmoting interaction/interdependancy.

By that rule they should give squad leader 1 ability that make everyone in his group 100% immune to all forms of damage. unless other side have image designer with them.

They should allow smuggler one skill that excempt everyone in his group from 75% pvp damage reduction. Unless otherside have weaponsmith/armorsmith with them.

They should make any group that have BH uber conceal so that they are not targetable by opposit side. unless opposit side have ranger in their group.

that's just ridiculous. I have never heard of the US deploying hairstylists to MASH units in the field.

Doctors/medics are an integral part of any violent power struggle that hopes to be succesful. especially if you're going up against people willing to use biological warfare in their everyday tactics like SWG does.

I suppose the only other way to get around having doctors to counter the combat medics is to petition to have them removed from the game for violating the Geneva Convention.

Oh noooo!

There is a need for another profession, one that I will not take for all my life because it will ruin my defense stacking, to be able to pwnzor everything in the game. This has to be the end. I will quit my subscription now! SOE will never hear the end of this! The nazis!
I hate every one!!!!

Just an update.. I spent 5.5mil on a +25 poison resist AA, and got a chef to make me up a batch of +25 Cho-Nor-Hoola (that's about as high as you can go without perfect ingredients). For the last 2 weeks therefore, I've been PvPing with the absolute maximum resistence to Poison that is possible in this game.

It has made absolutely no difference whatsoever. (Please note I've been careful to observe the 'xxx applies a poison to you' message, and every time I've seen it - bar *one time*, I have been poisoned).

Either resistence is broken, or the potency of standard poisons is so high it makes no difference at all. I would expect that with the highest possible resistence that I would get even a 50/50 chance to resist (after all +25 poison resist from tapes is something almost no-one has), but sadly this is not the case.

Lame. :/

If poison resistance is broken it is imperative that it is fixed.

Could you please do some more lab testing with diffrent potency poisons though, say 50 through 125 or somehting. Is there any CM on chimeara that would help with this?

Coming from a CM this is the most ironic thing ever. At least I am not a closet case FotM'er, I admit I switch to the uber templates. The fact that you make fun of stackers is the most absurd thing ever.

You calling me a closet case FotM'er? Wanna figth? Wanna piece of me? Do ya? Yeah, do ya?

I can tell you right here an now, choosing Combat Medic for me had nothing to do with PvP. I do precious little PvP since I prefer to do that in an enviroment that favours reaction speed and eye to hand coordination in stead of grinding or duping the credits to buy the most elite set of armor and weapons and then constructing the least creative macros. But hey, not every one views PvP the same way as I do so don't let me impede on your fun.

I was merely trying to, in my own way, make fun of what might have been the least creative post in this entire thread. Sorry if I shot above some people head, irony was never my forte.
