Well, you used a good trick on them last night. Have another go at it tonight and see how they react.

Maybe they'll surprise you.

And this whole silly thread will fade away...

We're the best damager's in the game? um okay... Rancor's do FULL mind damage... Oh yeah and so do faction pets. I kinda agree, you must be playing againts really crappy players. And any time your enemy or mob can not attack you back but you can attack it, that is an exploit. You used to be able to shoot ranged weapons through walls.... Now you can't, it was an exploit. I'm sure once CM's use they're poisons more the devs will see and we will get a LOS slapped on us. And where do you come up with us needing more support help? We're combat medics! Just because we have medic doesn't mean we're a support class. That's why their combat medics and doctors. They are not the same class. It seems to me you confuse the two often.

I'll start by saying that the patch definately made Dots too power in comparison to other classes. Actuall ythe main problem is the mind dot line as it is completely unhealable. Having large H or A poison is counterable using stim, but mind damage is not. So either reconsider the ability of any class including CM to deal mind damage, make mind damage healable and buffable, or reduce the damge of just the mind poison line to a more equal level to those special moves of other master professions.

This is the most telling paragraph that people just seem to gloss over, Elenora hits it right on the head (no pun intended) the problem is not so much that the DOT is overpowered, it is that mind damage is unhealable.

There are many classes that can kill just as effectively, well maybe not an entire group, but at least one on one.

The area of effect has a very good counter though (unlessAOE rangeis broken)they taught us from day 1 in the military. DON"T BUNCH UP!! If you are all standing around in a group and someone throws a grenade in on you, then you are all going to be casualties. In terms of the game, it should work the same way. The area of effect should be limited to a distance and if you are out of that distance you are alright. Yeah one maybe two people are going to get it, but then the rest of you can all turn the medic into swiss cheese. If the Devs really wanted to make it good, then make it where the further you are away from ground zero, the less effective the poison is.

I have to say that I am not a CM medic yet, I have the desire, I just can't seem to get enough ranged weapon experience right now. I am headed that way though and it was the thought of the poisons that really excited me. I hope they are still effective when I get there to be able to use them.

I also think that the issue is more like an issue of 'Mind damage is unhealable', instead of DoT being overpowered, especially when the original poster also agreed that the HA DoTsare 'not all that powerful'.

If we call for a nerf for DoT, what will happen most likely is the effectiveness of all HAM DoTsgetting hammered, which as a result makes them become totally unless again (they are already unless in PvE).

Another thing to consider is that if anelite shootercan do a bleeding of like 250-300 a tick (post-patch)in addition to the shooting damage, it is totally reasonable that ourhighest-end poison, which isthe main and only weapon of CM, can do way more than that.

i agree...i think it was just my intial reaction to the power of the mind dot line that orginally started me on the post...but remember most classes dont really understadn what a CM can do or what tools he has...the most likely answer will jsut be a general outcry for the nerfing of theCM class as a whole...

my attempt with this post was to generate some suggestions outside of just plain nerf the Dots. Somehting like make them LOS but keep damage or nerf damage and keep them LOS, or make then easier to cure with /curepoison...or backload the damage on dots to make them more like a damage over time weapon....

i have a feeling next thing u know rifleman will be here asking for mind damage healing lol

Well, if we can get some mind healing support on our side this way, well.....

/emote throws handfuls of mind DoTs

But honestly, I'm not sure our DoTs even need some sort of fix. I DO think LOS needs to be more a part of this game, in general, but that's not a CM specific problem.

Ele, I'd be curious to know, did you get a chance to try out the DoTs in a setting where ranged weapon users weren't handicapped (in other words, in more of an open field situation, where they can do fun things like shoot through hills)? If you did get a chance to do so, were you still just a dangerous? Just curious if location of battles is also a balancing factor... Sort of like TKAs being more effective in town settings.

Elenora, i can only say: Fight some good rebels, who know their job!

A BH who dizzy you and didnt DB you - *smile*

A group of master CH, BH, Pistoleer in a cantina and they didnt get u down once - *smile*

and so on.

You make 400 mind poisons - ok. Your lucky. How much damage does a Rifleman mind bleeding? Do you compare?

I can make 150 area bleeding and 220 normal Dots, cause on Gorath i didnt find any class II liquid petrol nor Class I radioaktive and Titanium Alu has only an OQ of 350 - so nearly every adv isnt such an advanced one. So tell me, every CM can make THIS 400 Dot. Its the best we can make. If we say: nerf this - than what will be A and B packs? 20 Dot? The devs dont nerv for 20 %, they reduce damage on 75 %. So be aware, what to suggest to the devs. I cant make them and im master CM since 3 or 4 weeks.

LOS - ok, its a bit crappy that we can use this and other classes dont or do not use this so good. Its a difference for me. From outside in a building, nobody should be able to throw something.

But why shouldnt we use our throwing poisons not above a building. We THROW our weapons, not shooting. Why should we need an Line of sight to throw something. This, you have to explain.

oh and, no CM on his own can make those 400/tick ones even with High Quality resources. you need a Doc to make the schematics to get that high.
